“I know I won’t. You're the man who walked through fire for me, and even if I couldn’t feel the love you have for me, you have shown me in so many other ways just what I mean to you. And I swear that I will do everything I can to make you happy.”
He hugged her to him, humbled beyond words at her out pouring of love for him. He made a promise to himself that he would do whatever it took to be worthy of the love she so selflessly gave him.
“I promise that I will get us home,” he said quietly.
“I know you will,” she said as she snuggled in closer to him.
He meant to keep that promise, and would do everything in his power to get them back to his planet. But even as he thought about it, he knew that even in this little room, as long as she was with him, he was home.
