“Fine.” I shrugged and went to my room. Something in my gut told me Avery was wrong and I hoped he wasn’t wrong.
I sat on my bed flipping through TV shows with nothing on. So then I opened my laptop and was going to search online about premonition abilities. I stopped as I was typing that into Google because what would Google tell me that the Kintana couldn’t. So instead I searched the Salem Witch Trials and ended up printing out a bunch of stuff about it for our project. Before I shut my computer down I wrote down some places that Archer and I could go to that had a lengthy history dealing with the Salem Witch trials that were close.
Then I thought of something else, since no one wanted to help me investigate Archer, just to make sure I decided to write a few chants, to help me see what he was thinking, and to allow me to enter his home without being detected in case need be. Then I wrote one on allowing me to focus in on the movie reel of the couple. I hoped they worked. That was one thing I was good at, writing chants. I always got stuck doing them in the family even though they were just beginner chants.
I shut the laptop down, and heard wings flap outside, and got up and watched Orion fly away. Something told me though he lurked somewhere close by because the Kintana never sent their best guard down unless it was getting bad. Caleb and Carmina had walked by and said good night, and headed upstairs. They were lucky they were able to sleep. I sat back down until I heard rocks at my window. I looked down and no one was there, so I laid on my bed moving my hands as the ceiling opened up and I watched the stars for a couple hours, until the sun started to rise.
CHAPTER 6 ARALYNN
The next few days, Archer and I worked on our project at school, and we went about our business. I tried to focus on what Orion had told me but it was hard because I hadn’t had another premonition in a while, and I didn’t think I would. I was beginning to think the first one was a fluke. All I heard from Caleb was the bears, how the attacks were closer to home. Then I would spend some nights training.
When the weekend came I was glad to get out of the house to spend some time away from the house with Archer. He had plans to take me out to dinner, and we were going to get a book in town about the Salem Witch Trials for our report. I had plans to try to my chants out on him that weekend to see what I could figure out about him. I wanted to see if my gut was right and to see if he was indeed hiding anything or something from me. Kilyn had been more and more adamant that we double date that weekend, so I agreed reluctantly for that Friday night we would eat together and be done with that. Then we get on with our date.
I hoped that Archer would be ok with it. It would be easier to cast a chant on him with others around that way he wouldn’t wonder what I was doing. Plus I could talk about him for a few minutes to Kilyn. Girl talk about how cute he was or something making it far more believable that I was a normal teen girl. So when Friday came around I let Archer know and when Saturday came, he picked me up right at four pm. It was funny because Carmina had twisted and twirled to make herself look like a mom and Caleb to look like my dad and I went along introducing them as such. Avery just stood by the sidelines as always his face clenched tightly.
“Your brother doesn’t like me much.” Archer said opening his car door for me.
“Ehh, he doesn’t like anyone. Hope you don’t mind that Kilyn and Carter are coming.” I said looking at him. “It’s only at dinner the rest of the evening is ours to do whatever.” I smiled back at him. I was hoping that nothing interrupted or went wrong tonight. I wanted a nice night with him to try to figure him out more.
“No problem.” Archer said driving as we pulled up to Spindle’s Pizza and Italian food. Kilyn and Carter were waiting outside. When we got up there I formerly introduced them all to Archer, and Archer to them. Then we went in, we sat down and ordered drinks.
“Archer, Kilyn, and Carter I’m sorry I have to go to the bathroom. I’ll be right back.” I smiled getting up as he kissed my cheek. I went into the stall, pulled out my crumbled up sheet of paper out of my pocket and read the chant quietly.
Let me peek into one's mind, I want to see, let me hear what he hears, see what he sees, and see if his intentions are good or bad is lurking. Let me see but don’t let him know. Let me peek. I said in a soft whisper then I took the match out of my bag and lit it on fire dropping it into the water as it disintegrated. The next one I did was:
Auras, of the one I want to see, show me the aura I good or bad show me now.
I smiled as I burnt it and flushed it down the toilet as well.. I went out of the bathroom without anyone noticing. I went back out to the table, and the pizza was ordered. Everything about this was a typical teen date including the pizza.. I couldn’t read or see into anyone’s mind at all yet which was good because that meant the chant I casted didn’t mess up which meant I could look into Archer’s. I couldn’t have been more wrong because with one gush all of a sudden all of these colors came flying at me. I figured out then the aura chant I had just cast backfired a bit. I was able to see everyone’s aura in the restaurant. It was a major oops. Next time I knew definitely knew to be more specific. Since I couldn’t do anything about it now I decided to look at the auras around me and there was good news with it. I could read Archer’s so the chant wasn’t a total waste.
The auras I was seeing were fascinating, one man had a real muddy red which meant he was angry then I saw his other half two tables down with someone else which hence brought that color on. Another person had an orange color aura around her which I thought meant she was scientific or a perfectionist of some sort. That explained her because when I walked by her she was working on a thesis paper for scientific reasons why the earth is here, hence the color again. I had never used that chant before and Carmina would yell if she found out I did but who cares it was worth it, this was the coolest thing I’d ever seen. One man had a turquoise color which meant healer so I thought he may have been a doctor of sorts.
I quit looking when I sat down at our table, and I noticed that Kilyn’s aura was really dark colored it looked black and brown. That probably was not good but what was she so guarded about. I wondered what was so bad with her. I did not know, but I would dig into that more later. I wanted to figure out Archer’s more than anyone else’s.
So I decided to focus on Archer’s aura and his thoughts. He had a clear reddish aura which meant he was competitive, powerful and sexual and passionate. That description definitely Archer he also had a soft light blue color to him which meant truthful. So far everything was good. So I started eating my pizza and talking amongst them…
CHAPTER 6 ARCHER-RESTAURANT
I watched as Aralynn stood up and went to the bathroom. Great, I thought she was leaving me here with my sister and my brother for all intensive purposes. The good thing was that at least we were in public so Kilyn wouldn’t do anything here. Which was ok meant I was safe for now. She would do her best to be civil and keep up the image she had in public.
“You’re right dear brother she is falling for you, but you need aren’t getting her quick enough. You need her to fall for you quicker and harder. The time is coming soon before she catches on. You know what’s at risk.” She smiled a devilish grin as our waitress brought us some more pops.
“Yea, I’m not dumb. She’s casting something, so stop upsetting me so I can focus.” I lied. I didn’t want to be upset because then she would ask me what was wrong and I couldn’t tell her not with Kilyn sitting right here. I knew it would be better to block everything out that was what I was trying to do.
Kilyn smiled a smile again as Aralynn came back out and I instantly flooded my thoughts of how much I was digging what she was wearing, how hot she was, how hot she made me, how much I liked kissing her, and what I wanted to do. Everything a typical guy would think of, and I hoped if she was reading my mind it would cover up the underlying truth for now. She sat down and I kissed her cheek.
CHAPTER 6 CONTINUED ARALYNN
“So are you all a couple yet?” Kilyn asked as
Archer kissed my cheek, I just looked at her dumbfounded.
“Huh, well not yet.” I smiled sipping on my Pepsi; it caught me off guard considering I was paying attention to auras and Archer’s mind.
He couldn’t really answer yet we just kind of changed the subject, as I was looking into his mind. He was thinking about how pretty I was and how much he would love to do more than kiss me, even though he wouldn’t, and how he wanted everything to be mine. That made me feel good because that was all I wanted too so the only thing I guess I had to do was to get him to make it official. I would tell him I wanted that once we left Kilyn and Carter.
“Well hopefully you all do soon enough or I’ll leave Carter for him.” Kilyn laughed and Carter just chuckled back those two were a strange couple. When she said that I wanted nothing more than to knock her toothless, and I was never jealous type, and to be now was strange for me. Once we got done eating Kilyn and Carter were smoking outside, and Archer and I were trying to figure out what we are going to do. Kilyn and Carter decided to eventually go home, and do stuff. So that left me alone with Archer who would be nice, because I could look more into his aura, and his mind. Even though there was no use his aura hadn’t changed all night but his mind had grown worried when he got a text, but he said it was nothing and brushed it off. So I ignored it.
“What you want to do now?” I asked him, and he just leaned up against car and smiled as he got closer to me.
“Not that, anything but that right now, because so far it hasn’t worked.’’ I laughed and he flashed that sly grin I was beginning to enjoy so much. His curls fell around his face then which made it all that harder hard to say no.
“Ok then, what?” he asked getting in his car and I followed.
“Let’s go to Sam’s’, he has a trail out back that will go to the buffs, and you can see for miles. That is of course if you don’t mind walking in the dark if you’re not chicken?” I smiled as he looked at me turning the key over.
“I’m not scared let’s go.” He said shutting my door leaning over me and I could smell the Hot Water cologne he was wearing. It was merely intoxicating. Had he been wearing that the whole night? I wondered.
We got to Sam’s house as the sun was setting. Avery and Sam weren’t there. So that was good. I had a key to get in if I ever needed. Archer got out of the car, and we headed toward the water. By the edge of the water there was a little patch of woods, which ran up to the edge of the bluffs, but it was hidden from the rest of the public. Sam made sure of it; it was a safe haven to practice. I pointed and Archer followed.
We began walking up the path, a deer was in the field to the right, and we stood there for a moment, watching it before it ran off. It was growing dark, and wildlife was typically there, but there weren’t many animals out tonight. I thought they sensed that there were bears on the loose.
“So do you always stay outside?” he asked walking up beside me. He wasn’t even breaking a sweat keeping up with me, I walked fast.
“Basically I like being outdoors. It’s freeing.” I smiled back at him. His aura was a bright pink now with a little bit of red meaning he was feeling the same way I was. The blue wasn’t shining through as strong but it was still there. You could see it lingering along with him, which meant he was still being truthful to me. Good I thought.
“Good, it’s not bad. So where are we going?” He asked as I just pointed to the top of the bluffs we were almost there. I pictured fireflies swooping them to me so that we had light on the path. Without the firelights to light up the woods the only light was coming from the moon’s gleam dancing across the water.
“Now I see why you disappear at parties.” He smiled at me.
“Yea now you know.” I laughed sitting down over the edge, and he joined me.
“Why’d you say no? At the restaurant when you were asked if we were a couple.” He asked staring at me.
“Didn’t think we were you never really said.” I shrugged, watching a pebble drop into the water.
“Well by the way you’re aura reads; I’d say you would like us to be. You’re pink.” He smiled and I sank.
Great he could read auras. Wonderful maybe his mother or someone else in his family was a person who could read auras. Maybe they taught him. That was better than the alternative: that my chant backfired majorly.
“Uhm, ok. What does that mean?” I asked trying to sound curious.
“Well not entirely sure of all them but my mother was a gypsy and an aura freak. She was definitely better at it than anyone. She said pink meant that someone was sensitive, loving, and wanting a relationship. She taught me how to tap into it and see just basic colors. I only see one at a time if you have multiple colors at once I only see the most dominant one. Like yours is radiating pink right now it’s pretty easy to see that.” He laughed as I blushed a bit.
“Where’s your mom?” I asked him, because he had seemed happy when he talked to her.
“Dead, she died, well she was killed actually. Now I live with my sister. She’s not exactly the nicest, but one year left, I can handle it. My mom would have liked you.” He smiled looking back at me but this smile was different, it was sad.
“Yea, I take it long hair is the gypsy in you.” I smiled as I watched him pull his hair back into a ponytail.
“Yeah it’s something like that. So is that what you want?” He asked. “To be with me?”
“I shouldn’t but yeah I do, I would like that very much, we're only young once.” I smiled, and lied. Oh it was a huge lie; I would outlive him by far I thought but despite that I did want to be with him.
“I’d like that.” He smiled leaning in and kissing my lips, deeply. I got lost but then I saw the couple again.
This time they were sitting and kissing. Then they stood up. I tried to focus. It was a hill or cliff or something, before I could see anything he stopped and it disappeared.
“What’s wrong?” He asked. Then I heard Avery and Sam coming up the hill. That was the only thing that sucked is you could hear everything up there, especially if someone was coming up the hill.
I rolled my eyes. “You can swim right?” I asked he nodded. “Come on jump.” I smiled and he grabbed my hand and we jumped into the water from the top of the cliff.
We hit the water and it kind of stunned us because the water was freezing but we swam to the edge, and got out. We were out back of Sam’s house. I pointed and we went in. Sam and Avery must have jumped and got back here quicker because they were right after us.
“What the….” Sam smiled at me. “You have to get out of them clothes. Dude I don’t have the same style as you but I got a hoodie and basketball shorts. You can wear. Ara you know where I keep your stuff, at.” Sam smiled, and I laughed because I always had clothes here.
I walked into the guest room where Archer and I had begun making out at the other night before where we got walked in on. I rummaged through the drawers. All my clothes were dirty here. Great I thought again I walked back out. Sam came back out with a pair of Avery’s pajama pants that were really big but I could tie them and a tank top. I put those on leaning my head over the bed and was drying my hair. Archer came back out of the bathroom in a towel shortly afterwards. I pointed to the bed where his clothes were, as I tried not to gawk at him or his body.
“Ok. You can at my body if you want to because it’s yours now.” Archer laughed his back was toward me but he dropped his towel.
He did have a nice butt but it was swollen, looked like, and he had dents on his back of his leg, and they were red really red. A few bruises were on the back of his legs. Despite all of the marks Archer was still extremely sexy.
“What did you do?” I asked about the bruises.
“Oh, that’s not what I was hoping you would look at. I told you earlier, my sister is mean and so is her boyfriend. I mean I’m strong but I won’t hit a girl. So she pretty much can do whatever. I’ve been in trouble so I can’t report it because she will flip the scenario around and if she flips
it, well put it this way I’m gone. So I live with it.” He shrugged shaking his hair like a dog.
“I’m sorry.” I said standing up I noticed that he had a scar on his chest too. “She did that too?” I asked.
“Yep, she did. It’s ok beautiful.” He said kissing me again.
But this time he had sat on the bed kissing me. This he lowered his body down on top of mine and his hand rubbed along my arms and up my shirt, cupping my chest. Before we could get any further Sam came in. Sam just loved ruining our fun. Avery was shortly after.
“Bro nice! Ara really him and not with me?” Sam smiled.
Avery on the other hand frowned as he mind-spoke. What the hell are you doing?
I mind spoke “Being you the other day”.
Sam said something. “Dude your sister keeps calling. She wants you home now.” He said to him. “She’s pissed.”
“Ok, I’ll head out.” He said as they left. He started kissing me again.
“Archer you better go. I don’t want her to hurt you again. Not on my behalf.” I said pushing him off and I went out the door, we walked down the stairs.
“I wouldn’t mind it would be worth it.” He smiled kissing me as he hopped in his car. “See you tomorrow. I’ll get out.” He smiled as he sped off down the road.
