Rise Of Darkness: Virgil Series Book One (The Virgil Series 1) Page 16

by Kyle J Cisco

That was when I first started writing. The day after I wrote for the first time, we were sitting atop Mount Marcy in upstate NY. The view was beautiful, but I let him read what I had written. He read it all the way through and asked why I stopped. Then he said, “Kyle, you have incredible talents, and you can do anything you want to when you try.”

These words didn’t really mean much to me at the time. But as time passed, so did he. In one of the most dramatic days in my life, the work accident that claimed his life did not just end his, but it changed so many other lives as well. From that point on, I have never quit and always try to do things I know he would have been proud of.

A lot of people have doubted some of the choices I have made, but all that matters is keeping your eyes on the goals ahead. Never giving up, and learning as much as you can about what it is you’re trying to do. If there’s one thing I could have told myself when I was younger, it would have been to never stop writing. The long break I took after he passed and while I was in the Air Force was valuable time I wish I had not wasted.

Thanks again to all those who have made this possible. My love and appreciation go out to all of you.

  About The Author

For those who want to know a little bit about me, I am Kyle Cisco. I am twenty-six years old and a disabled veteran. I am currently a full-time student, father, and husband. I am attending Full Sail University in sunny Orlando, Florida, in the Creative Writing BFA Program. Before going to school full-time, I was a Crew Chief for six years in the United States Air Force. I loved my job there, but due to a debilitating back injury, I decided to get out and pursue another career. I have two amazing kids that teach me something new about being a parent every day. They have the most creative minds that surprise me daily. Since moving to Florida, I have put all my energy into school and writing, hoping to make a career out of telling the countless stories I have been put on earth to tell. This is my calling in life, and I am glad to be walking on the right path now. Thank you. Look out for more books coming soon.
