  I can’t run anymore.

The only way I can stay safe is mating into a clan but I never expected it would be a wolf pack. A single omega ocelot-shifter among seven wolves? But the packs’ alpha, Laith knows how to stroke a scared cat.

I thought binding myself to them would subject me to misery, but I was so wrong. Laith and his pack are intent on showing me the omega I can be if I am willing to take them on.

But years of running and hiding has left me jaded. Can I possibly find happiness in the den of the wolves?

  Chapter One

I can’t run anymore, I told myself as I skimmed my finger over my glass of club soda, leaving a streak of condensation. That was why I was currently sitting at the bar and away from the commotion of the shape-shifters having a good time on a Saturday night. I didn’t want to be here. I wanted to do what I always did when I got scared—run as far as I could. But the Earth was only so big and it was a matter of time before I got caught.

As much as I didn’t want to admit it, the only thing that would protect me was mating into a clan. I didn’t want to bind myself to someone I didn’t know and wasn’t sure I could trust, but I was desperate.

The bartender nudged me and pointed to the main entrance. “Elias, he’s here.”

I didn’t want to look. I’d come to live in Chicago for a short while a few months ago and had gravitated to the shifter hangout known as The Watering Hole. The bar was run by dragons and they’d instantly befriended me. My fathers used to tell me all kinds of tall-tales about dragons but I’d come to believe they were more than fairytales. The dragons had somehow known I was in fear for my life and running from someone. I ended up telling them the truth—that the leader of a rival clan that had murdered my parents planned to forcibly mate me due to my bloodlines. I wasn’t going to go willingly, but I was only one omega without a clan to back me up.

Swallowing hard, I dragged my eyes to the front door where a large group of men filed in. They banged fists with the other patrons. My animal went on the defensive being so close to several wolves. As an ocelot, shifters like bears and wolves put me on edge. I counted six males dressed for the night in T-shirts and jeans. They parted and a giant of a man waltzed in dressed in full business attire. He removed his dark shades and his bright blue eyes fell on me. I squirmed in my seat and looked to my drink, surprised by my body’s reaction.

He approached, his presence stifling as he took a seat next to me. But he smelled good, like expensive cologne and wild spice. “Hey, J.J.”

“Sup. Grey Goose?” The bartender said.

“Not tonight, but you can refill his glass,” the wolf said, motioning to my drink. He leaned against the bar, his attention solely on me. “Elias?”

  “Yes, sir,” I murmured.

“I’m Laith,” the wolf said. “How are you doing?”

  “Okay, thanks. You?”

“Long day and glad the weekend is finally here,” he said and loosened his collar. I couldn’t help it. I stole a look, his skin tanned and smooth under his shirt. His eyes caught mine for a moment and I quickly looked down. “I manage money in case you were curious. Especially for shifter clans.”

“Yup,” the bartender chimed in. “We know him well which is why we passed him along to you. Laith is cool peeps.”

The man drifted away and I was sure Laith had scooted closer, his body dwarfing mine. “The Firestones tell me you’re looking for a mate.”

Taking a deep breath, I nodded. A burst of laughter startled me and I jerked. My cat was begging me to run. I’d stayed here too long and it was time to move again. I needed to keep on my feet to elude my pursuers. Laith snarled at the men standing around the door and they quieted. He didn’t say anything for a long while but I knew he was looking me over.

“Would you like to go somewhere more private to talk?” he asked, his voice smooth and gentle.

I blew out a big breath. Being in close vicinity with so many large and powerful shifters was making me nervous. My animal might be a predator but I was naturally submissive and didn’t do well with confrontation. “Yes, thank you.”

“Come,” Laith said and got off the stool. His palm momentarily touched my back but the pressure was gone in an instant as if he hadn’t meant to do that. As short as it had been, it had surprising effects on my body. Something deep inside tightened. It was hard being who I was—an omega without a clan. I longed for an alpha’s attention but at the same time, feared being abused and mistreated.

I followed him out the door, several sets of eyes roaming my body as I passed the group of men. The moment I was outside, I took a deep and refreshing breath. Laith led me to his expensive looking car and held the door open for me. I thanked him politely and slid in, the scent of leather sinking into me. He took his place in the driver’s seat and the engine roared under my body, the vibrations tickling my skin. The buildings grew taller as he steered his car toward wherever he was taking me. I probably shouldn’t have gone along with him so willingly but the dragons had vouched for him and I was desperate. We pulled into an underground parking lot and took the elevator up to what I assumed was his apartment. I was caught off guard by the grandeur of his place, everything shiny and new.

“Please, sit,” Laith said and motioned to an immaculate white leather couch. “Club soda?”

I blinked at him for a moment. “No, thank you.”

My body sunk into the plush couch and Laith relaxed in front of me on a recliner. He leaned against the backrest and rested his leg on his knee. He popped another button to his dress shirt. “Tell me why you’re so far north looking for a mate. There aren’t a lot of ocelots—if any—up here.”

“The dragons didn’t tell you anything?” I inquired.

“I want to hear it from you.”

I balled my fists and took a deep breath to steady myself. If I was going to be mated to this wolf, then I needed to be honest with him. “The alpha that murdered my fathers wants to forcibly mate me due to my bloodlines. So, I ran. But it’s only a matter of time before he finds me, and…”

“You’re looking for the protection of a pack,” Laith deduced.

“If I’m claimed, I would be of little use to him.”

Laith nodded slowly as if digesting my words. I focused on the fine carpet under my feet, wondering if this was all for naught. What would a wolf want with a cat anyway?

“Your mannerisms suggest you have little sexual experience. Am I correct?”

  “Yes, sir,
I rasped and wiggled in my seat. “I’m not naïve, it’s just that I’ve been running so long I haven’t really had a chance to relax.”

“I’ve been looking for an omega for a while now. My pack has grown in number and strength but that comes with its set of issues. My wolves are anxious and have a lot of energy to blow off. I need someone to hold them together. The Firestones have known me for a long time which is why they came to me but I worry that you might not be a good fit. It’s not because you are cat but do you think you can handle the demands of seven wolves?”

My heart lurched. Seven? I wasn’t even sure I could handle the demands of a powerful alpha like Laith. I tipped my head up and let him see my eyes. “I would try.”

His lips tugged up in a smile and he tipped his head to the side. “I can offer you protection and I promise that you will not know cruelty. My parents raised me to respect and cherish omegas. You will be safe with me but also loved.”

My breath caught as he rose to his feet. Look away, I told myself but all I could do was stare at him as he stalked toward me, his body moving like water. He reached to my chin and tipped my head back. I looked at him for the first time, taking in every inch of his face, from his dark hair, piercing blue eyes and to his strong jaw the had been made to give commands. Physically, he was everything an alpha should be. I held his gaze, wanting him to believe I was serious.

“Good,” he said and grinned. “You’ll need that determination if you are to serve my pack.”

Heat rushed to my cheeks and he pulled me to my feet. My heart pounded as he leaned in and inhaled, his nose skimming along my neck.

He growled. “What is that I smell on you? Under your fear, I scent arousal.”

“You are… handsome,” I whispered and closed my eyes as he pressed a kiss to my throat.

“Tell me, Elias. Have you mated with anyone before?” He asked, his tone hardly more than a growl.

“No, sir. I’ve shared handjobs with a few. I promise, I’m willing to learn. I will do my best to be the omega you and your pack deserves.”

He gripped my ass roughly through my jeans and traced a searing path of wet heat with his tongue. I threw my head back and gasped. It was nice to be touched, my few experiences with humans unable to satisfy my needs as an omega.

“There we go. You will mate with me tonight and I will mark you. Then you will meet the pack.” Laith cupped my cheeks and pecked my lips softly, sending a lightning bolt of pleasure through me. I never thought a single, chaste kiss could evoke such a response. “Now is the time to be sure. Once you are bound to me there is no going back. You will be ours and expected to perform an omega’s duty. And in time, you will carry my pups. Is that what you want?”

There was a big part of me that wanted to run, but the omega inside of me yearned for an alpha and Laith seemed like a kind and respectful dominant. I’d only been around him for a short while but he was nothing like the alpha that was hunting me. Need pushed me to bond myself to Laith but want sealed the deal.

I slid to my knees in submission. “I am here for you, alpha.”

His eyes flared and I saw the wolf underneath. I should have been afraid but the knot in my balls tightened.

  Chapter Two

Laith slipped his dress shirt off his shoulders and I traced the muscles of his chest as he moved. He was tanned and had several faded scars suggesting he was a tried alpha. Considering he lead a pack of six wolves, he’d overcame many challenges. I knew he would be able to protect me. He undid the button of his slacks and pushed them off his legs. I could do nothing but stare at his heavy package cupped in black cotton. His cock pressed against the fabric and I followed the shape. Laith palmed the back of my head and pulled me in.

He rubbed his crotch all over my face, his musk exploding around me. He was so warm and hard and I kissed the shaft incased in cotton.

“Are you going to prove to me how badly you want to join the pack as my mated-omega?” Laith asked, his voice strained.

I glanced up his buff body to find him looking down at me with intense eyes. “Yes, sir.”

“Then show me how hungry you are for my cock,” he commanded.

His authority sunk into me and roused my omega nature. I traced the form of his prick with my tongue. Every lick bolstered my confidence and I rubbed my cheek against his nutsack. Tucking my fingers in the hem of his boxers, I let his expression guide me. He didn’t correct me as I tugged the underwear off his hips. His cock sprang to life, the shaft thick and veiny, the head red and moist with his arousal. I took it in my hands, his flesh burning me. Laith showed no reaction and I leaned in to kiss the shaft, the skin silky against my lips. I kissed and licked, wetting his dick. It wasn’t until I suctioned my lips around the blunt head that he hissed. I pulled his salty taste into my mouth and wiggled my tongue all over the sensitive head.

His hand went into my hair, letting me know I was doing something right. I bobbed my head back and forth, doing my best to worship his cock. True that I hadn’t had much experience, but I was determined.

“Good,” he praised, his words stroking me like a silken touch. He took his dick back and slapped my cheek with it. “I’m looking forward to training your mouth for my cock.”

I moaned, surprised to find that I was too. “I want to be everything you need.”

He cupped my cheek tenderly and I leaned into the touch. I’d been missing the approval of an alpha for so long that it had left me cold and alone. For some reason, Laith wanted me. His thumb stroked along my skin, sending a shiver through my body. I wanted to please him almost as much as I wanted his protection.

  “Open your mouth,” he commanded.

I did as ordered and parted my lips. He slid his cock deep into my mouth, his hand at my head forcing me to oblige until he hit the back of my throat. I gagged but he seemed not to care as he fucked my mouth steadily. Balling my fists, I was determined to take every inch but his prick was a massive presence.

He released me and I gulped air in. “Sit on the couch.”

I climbed back onto the white leather and Laith pulled my shirt off. He ran his palm over my chest and I relaxed under his caress. He pushed me against the back of the couch and climbed on top of me so that my face was even with his straining cock. I slackened my jaw and accepted him back into my mouth.

“Swallow,” he said and pushed deep.

I moaned around his prick as I swallowed compulsively. The glans breached my throat and I grabbed into his thighs, needing to hold onto something. He retreated, giving me a moment to breathe then delved back in, gaining more and more progress until my mouth was stuffed with his cock. In the back of my mind, I thought I should be afraid but my body was humming with excitement from serving a strong alpha. Tears pooled in the corners of my eyes as Laith fucked my mouth. With the couch at my back, I could do nothing but make myself available for his use.

“Don’t worry,” he said gently. “After a little practice you will be able to take my cock all the way down your throat without resistance. You will beg for it.”

I moaned around his dick, wanting to please him in such a way. He retreated and I sucked in as much air as I could. He traced my lips with the head of his cock, his eyes glowing as he watched.

“I’m tempted to come in your mouth just so I can see the way your lips glaze with my seed,” he growled and smacked me with his heavy rod. “But not tonight.”

Laith hopped off the couch and held his hand out to me. I connected with his palm, his skin warm, his grip strong. He pulled me to my feet and kissed my lips, his tongue leading me in a slow and deep dance that made me burn with need. His palms slid down my shoulders, passed my arms, leaving a trail of gooseflesh and finally settled on my wrists. My attention was on him as he led me into his giant bedroom. He came up behind me, his hard body warm and comforting. He tipped my head to the side and pressed light kisses to my neck as his palm spanned my stomach. I rested my weight against his solid frame, his sweet kisses loosening me. I knew to my
soul he wouldn’t hurt me. I thought I shouldn’t feel this way but everything he’d done so far, everything he had said put me at ease and made this feel right.

Laith sucked my lobe into his warm mouth, his teeth scraping against my skin, sending a shudder through me. He gripped my erection through my pants and I gaped in pleasure. “I have to admit that I’m looking forward to popping your cherry. You have no idea what it does to an alpha to have an omega like you choose me to do the honors.”

I wanted to respond but my brain was overloaded by sensation, his touches driving me mad. An omega like me? I wasn’t sure what that meant but I was happy he was looking forward to mating with me.

“I promise to be gentle,” he murmured against my ear and undid my pants. “I want you to trust me when I say you will be cherished.”

My gratitude came out as a hoarse groan and Laith chuckled as he undressed me until I was completely bare to him. He claimed my lips again until I couldn’t breathe, his kisses relaying his dominance and authority. Every touch, every kiss, every word succeeded in relaxing me. When I had sat at the bar waiting for his arrival, I had lamented what it would be like to mate an alpha. I wasn’t feeling any of that now. My body was tight with need and that fear was long gone, leaving nothing but my natural urge to mate with an alpha. My alpha, I thought. I would soon belong to Laith.

He puffed up a pillow and laid it in the center of the bed. “On your stomach.”

I did as commanded and took my place on his bed, my cock sandwiched between the pillow and my body so that my ass was in the air. A ball of nerves formed in my gut. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe him, but I was afraid I might fail in my duties as an omega. Laith took his place behind me, his palms kneading my buttchecks. His lips came against my spine, his breath warm.
