“Thank you for protecting me,” I murmured against his chest.

“Who else is going to play old-school with me? No one else likes retro,” Derrek bit out through clenched teeth.

I smiled, understanding it was his way of declaring his love for me. I did my best to keep him calm and support him as everyone made their way back to the car. I slipped into the hatchback with him and he laid his head in my lap as Tom secured an old towel around his wound. Running my fingers through his pale hair, I prayed he would be okay. But he was a tough wolf and I knew his injuries wouldn’t keep him down long. Soon he would be back to his bossy, playful self. I looked to the front where Laith was in the driver’s seat. His eyes connected with mine and I saw the approval in them. An omega is the glue of a pack.

The ride back to Chicago seemed longer than it was but that was because I was worried about Derrek. Laith took us to The Watering Hole where J.J and his twin brother were waiting. They helped Derrek into the back and set him on a chair. As they shot him full of local anesthetic, Derrek look for me with frantic eyes. I kneeled next to him and set my head in his lap, his hand stroking me.

“You are safe?” he inquired, his tone rough.

“I am,” I murmured and wrapped me arm around his leg. He seemed to calm knowing I was okay and as the dragons worked on getting him stitched up, I looked to Laith who was watching me. He smiled faintly and nodded.

A warmth like I never known before filled me. I realized I hadn’t been fleeing my hunters all these years, but running to my mates.

  Three Bears for the Wolf

Sometimes life throws one hell of a curve ball.

As a wolf-shifter, I shouldn't be attracted to the three burly bears of the Brown Claw Clan. But it's their leader, Cable that makes me melt with need. The way he looks at me with those chocolate eyes, as if I'm the only omega that can give him what he needs...

I'm unable to say no and I will have to give up everything to be with them.

But does a wolf have a place with bears?
