Lover's Roulette, (Forever and Always #6) Page 10

by Todd, E. L.

Ryan and Cortland grabbed their shirts then came behind me. We headed to the showers and washed the sweat from our bodies. I’ve never been so uncomfortable by women coming onto me. Since I had experienced it since I hit puberty, I was used to it. But now that I was practically married, I felt like I was cheating on Scarlet. I wished girls wouldn’t look at me like that. I felt horrible like I had done something wrong. I shouldn’t have taken off my shirt when we played basketball. That was my fault and I learned my lesson.

“I’ll meet you in the bar,” I said. I threw on my clothes then headed back out to the pool. The girls were lying on their chairs, totally immobile. I couldn’t sit still like that all day if my life depended on it. I stared at Scarlet’s rockin’ body in her bikini for a moment before I approached her.

  “Babe?”

She opened her eyes and lifted up her sunglasses. “What are you doing here?”

“Please don’t tell me the other two are coming,” Monnique said.

“No, it’s just me,” I said. I leaned closer to Scarlet. “I need to tell you something.”

  “What is it?”

I sighed. “We were playing ball and I took off my shirt because I was hot. When we were done these girls tried to flirt with us. I grabbed my shirt and left. Nothing happened.”

  She looked confused. “Okay.”

“I’m sorry I took off my shirt. I feel horrible now. It won’t happen again.”

Monnique started laughing and she tried to cover her mouth to stop her chuckles.

I was annoyed by her reaction but I ignored it. “Babe, I’m sorry.”

“Sean, it’s okay. It’s not a big deal.”

“I just wanted to tell you the truth instead of you finding out some other way.”

“Sean, you didn’t do anything wrong. Why are you so upset right now?”

“I don’t want you to ever think I’m doing something behind your back. I thought you should know. I shouldn’t have taken off my shirt. I was wrong.”

“Sean, it probably would have happened anyway, even if you kept your clothes on. Girls are going to hit on you and that’s fine. It’s not a big deal.”

  “Really?”

“It’s annoying and makes me jealous, but it’s nothing to be upset about.”

“Oh. I just wanted to be honest with you.”

Monnique laughed again. “Someone is overcompensating.”

“So?” I said. “I admit that I fucked up before and I’m not going to do anything like that again. I’ll always be honest with you, Scar.”

She smiled at me and patted my cheek. “Babe, we’ve moved on from the past. I’ve let it go and you need to let it go. I wouldn’t be with you if I didn’t trust you completely. You don’t need to tell me every little thing that happens, okay?”

  “Are you sure?”

  “Yeah.”

“But you were upset when I didn’t tell you about Maria.”

“Sean, that’s a completely different situation. And to be honest, I don’t want to hear about women hitting on you all the time.”

  “Okay.”

“Now go back and have a good time.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. “Okay.”

She grabbed my face and kissed me. “But I do appreciate your honesty and devotion to me.”

“I’ll always be honest with you.”

“Now go have a good time.”

“Okay.” I leaned down and kissed her inner thigh before I stood up and left the pool deck. I walked back into the hotel, feeling the guilt and anxiety leave my shoulders. I walked into the bar and saw the guys already sitting down, watching the game on the screen. I ordered a beer and wings then leaned back.

“What took you so long?” Mike asked.

  “I was talking to Scarlet.”

  “About what?”

  “About what just happened.”

“You’re the biggest pussy I’ve ever met in my life.”

  I shrugged. “I really don’t care.”

“What happened to you? You weren’t even this annoying when you were with Penelope.”

“Don’t mention her again. She isn’t in our lives anymore. She’s something of the past.”

“Whatever. You still weren’t as annoying.”

“Because Scarlet is my soul mate. Penelope wasn’t.”

He rolled his eyes. “Kill me now. I know you think you’re in love and all that but—”

“I am in love. I hope you find it someday too.”

“Not if I’m going to act like this.”

“It’s not so bad.” I took a drink of my beer and watched the game. “I’ve never been happier in my life.”

“I shouldn’t have come on this trip, not when I’m the only single guy.”

  “You should settle down, then.”

“I can’t find anyone worth settling down with. How did you meet your girls?”

Ryan looked at me. “Through Scarlet.”

Mike looked at Cortland. “And you?”

  “Work.”

“How did you and Scarlet meet again?” Mike asked me.

“In college. I was dating a friend of hers so I never went for her. I’m really glad that I didn’t.”

  “Why?”

“I was an asshole then. I wouldn’t have treated Scarlet right. I’m glad that our relationship worked out this way. It’s perfect. I was never carefree or relaxed when I was with Penelope. I felt like I had to always put on a show to keep her around, and she didn’t end up sticking around anyway. Scarlet understands all of my flaws and shortcomings. She doesn’t judge them or use them against me. I can be myself in every way. She’s my best friend and the best sex I’ve ever had.” I looked at Ryan. “Sorry.”

“You think I don’t hear all the details from her?” he said with a laugh.

Mike made a disgusted face. “Are you sure you want to marry into that?”

“I already did.” I looked at my brother. “I know you think I’m lame for settling down, bringing my fiancé on my bachelor party, and for being in love and monogamous with one person, but your snide remarks and comments aren’t going to change anything. I know you love Scarlet, and deep down in there you love me, even though we’ve practically killed each other. Please just be supportive. In the end, it doesn’t change anything, but it makes it easier for me.”

He sighed. “You’re right. I’m sorry, man. I guess I’m just miserable and I like to bring everyone down with me.”

I didn’t know what to say to that. That was the mushiest, most heartfelt thing I ever heard my brother say. “I’m sorry.”

“You guys seemed to have everything figured out, while I’m almost thirty and can’t find anyone worthy of my time. I’m not sure if I’m just picky or a complete asshole.”

“I’m thirty,” Ryan said. “The first time I fell in love I was thirty. It’s not too late.”

Mike shrugged. “It’s hard to meet someone. Everyone my age has kids or is divorced.”

“Go for a younger girl,” Cortland said. “You’re a good looking guy and you’re successful. It can’t be that hard.”

Mike took a drink of his beer but didn’t say anything.

I watched him for a moment before I looked at the television. I understood my brother a little better now than I did before. Behind that macho façade was a lonely person that envied the love I had for Scarlet. Every day I was with her, the more I realized how lucky I was that Scarlet picked me. She seemed to enchant everyone around her. First, Cortland, and now my brother. I was a lucky bastard and I knew it.

When I got back to the room, Scarlet was already there. Her hair was wet because she just took a shower. She was wearing one of my t-shirts and she never looked sexier. I like seeing her wear my things. She looked so small and petite in everything. It also reminded me that she was mine—only mine.

  “You look beautiful.”

She looked at me, surprise on her face. “I just got out of the shower.”

p; I pulled the shirt down, revealing one shoulder, and kissed the skin. “So?”

“I think I’ve looked better than this.”

  “You always look good.”

  “I don’t know about that.”

“I see you every day. I see you when you’re sick, when you’re asleep, when you’re naked, and when you’re dressed. And in every instance you look beautiful.”

  “How was your night?”

“I lost two-hundred bucks to Cortland, but I took three-hundred from my brother. It was a good night.”

“You and got Cortland got along well?”

“Yeah,” I said as I kissed her neck. “We’re good.”

“Are you ready to go home tomorrow?”

“Yes. The sooner time goes by, the sooner I’ll be your husband.”

“You really are obsessed with me.”

“Babe, you’re a little slow if it’s taken you this long to figure it out.” I grabbed the shirt and pulled it up.

  “No, I’m cold.”

I kept going. “I’ll keep you warm.”

Her nipples were hard so I knew she was telling the truth. “What are you in the mood for?”

“You can’t tell?” I asked as I placed her hand over my erection.

“How do you want to do it?”

  “I want to make love.”

“You always want to make love.”

  “Because I love it.”

  “Well, I want to fuck.”

“Damn, Scar. You’re so hot when you talk like that. I’ll gladly oblige.”

She crawled on the bed then looked back at me, her ass in the air.

I pulled off my clothes with lightning speed then came behind her. My hands glided over her ass then down her back. I fisted my hand in her hair then moved against her, my cock pressed in between her cheeks.

She reached behind her and grabbed me, pointing my tip at the entrance of her ass. I knew how she wanted me to fuck her. We’d been having anal sex for a while. It took her a while to get used to it, but now that she was, she loved it as much as I did. She was still really tight and warm.

I inserted my cock in her pussy and fucked her hard for a few seconds until I was totally wet. She moaned and thrusted her ass against me until I pulled out. When I was gone she released a sad sigh, hating that she was being teased. I pushed inside her back entrance and slid all the way inside. She moaned happily and arched her back.

Now that she was experienced with anal, I pushed her farther. I wrapped my arm around her waist then pulled her against my chest as I fell back on my heels. She moaned loudly, feeling me move inside her further. She spread her legs further apart then gripped my thighs. I was the master in the bedroom and she followed my lead without question. I loved the trust that she had for me. She knew I would never hurt her or push her too hard if I really didn’t think she was ready for it. It made her free and less inhibited, getting her to do things she had never done before.

I pumped inside her slowly while I squeezed her tits. I stared at her ass as I moved in and out, amazed that her small body could take my huge cock.

“You okay, baby?” I whispered in her ear.

She rocked her hips and sheathed me faster.

  That answered my question.

“I’ll fuck you as hard as you want me to.” I rocked into her faster, still going at a slower pace than I normally would because I was always gentle with her. So far she hadn’t bled once and I wanted to keep it that way. If I ever damaged her, our sexual experiments would end immediately because it would kill my arousal.

It was hard to control myself with her because she was so sexy. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen, and I couldn’t believe she wanted to fuck me all the time. I was the only man she wanted. That was the biggest turn on.

I grabbed her left hand and held it in mine, feeling the cold metal of her ring against mine. The sign of eternal commitment between us always made the sex a million times better. I fucked too many women to count and I loved the excitement of the carnal aspect. I would never screw the same chick twice and that made it satisfying. But now that I was with Scarlet, the sex was so much better. Being in love made a huge difference. I loved Penelope, but it was different with Scarlet. I really felt like I was meant to be with her forever. I loved making her feel good and getting her off. I actually felt our souls touch when we were joined together like this. It was the most spiritual and satisfying experience of my life. It almost wasn’t sexual anymore. It was purely spiritual, being with the woman I loved. I would die for her a thousand times just so she didn’t have to experience a moment of pain.

She turned her heard toward me and cupped my face, kissing me. I continued to rock into her, feeling her stretch for me. When our lips sealed together, I felt my cock twitch and swell from the impending orgasm. She was so gorgeous that it was hard not to come for her. That was the only con.

I placed my hand between her legs and rubbed her clitoris, trying to get her off as soon as possible. I couldn’t hold on much longer. I kissed her harder and fucked her as fast as I could without triggering my own orgasm. When I felt her tighten around me and her lips become immobile, I knew she reached her threshold. When the first moan came out, I let myself go and I came inside her, looking into her face as I watched her come. Seeing her get off made my orgasm a million times stronger and more satisfying.

I held her to my chest as we both caught our breath.

“Sean, you’re so good at that.”

“Cuz you make me, babe.” I kissed her neck as I pulled out of her slowly, knowing I had to be gentle so I wouldn’t hurt her. I lied her down on the bed then rubbed her back, making her relax and close her eyes. I knew her body went through a lot when we had sex. It had to. I liked to dull the soreness by making her feel good. After a few minutes, I hopped in the shower. I had to clean off and scrub my dick because I knew I would want to have sex again in like an hour, maybe less. I seriously considered taking some Viagra so I would have a boner for four hours straight and I could literally fuck her all night long. I don’t think Scarlet would go for that because it might be dangerous, but I did consider it. And I knew I wouldn’t need lubrication for her. Scarlet was always drenched for me, no matter how many times we did it. She was a fucking whore for me.

I dried off then came back to bed. She snuggled next to me and wrapped her body around mine, holding me as close as possible. I didn’t care for snuggling, not even with Penelope, but I loved doing it with Scarlet. We had been sleeping together since I could remember. She would sleep at my place or I would sleep at hers. It was never weird. I always loved being close with her.

What I had been dreading all day had finally arrived. Scarlet and I had to have the conversation I didn’t want to have. Not because I didn’t care or want to listen, but because I knew it would break my heart. Anytime she was in pain, I wanted to kill myself. I hated it, I hated it, but I knew it had to be done.

  “Babe?”

  “Hmm?”

  “Tell me.”

Her body stiffened. I knew she recognized the meaning of my words.

  “I’m ready.”

  “Are you sure?” she whispered

  “Yeah.”

“I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t want to know.”

  “Scar, we share the load.”

She sighed but didn’t move. “I’m scared.”

  “Don’t be.”

“What if you don’t feel the same way about me?”

“That would never happen, okay? You can tell me anything. You ate a hotdog off the ground and I still make out with you every day.”

“That’s not the same thing, Sean.”

  My attempt at humor died.

“It’ll be okay, Scar. Trust me.”

  “I do.”

I kissed her shoulder then the skin above her ribs. When my mouth moved to her ear, I ran my fingers through her hair, trying to silently calm her down. “Come on, babe.”

  She sighed. “Okay.” She s
at up then grabbed her laptop from the dresser. She brought it back then turned on the screen. She clicked on a file that had a least a dozen word documents then clicked the last one in the column.

I grabbed her face and kissed her cheek. “It’ll be fine, okay?”

  “Okay.”

“Thank you for sharing this with me.”

“You’re the only person I’ve told.”

“And I’m honored with the exclusivity.”

She lay down then turn on her side, hugging the covers to her. I rubbed her back for a second before I lay beside her with the laptop on my thighs. I wasn’t looking forward to reading this at all but I knew I had to. Scarlet still carried this pain around every day even if she was good at hiding it. I didn’t just want to help her get through it, I wanted to help her forget about it. I didn’t want to hear about her torment but I looked at the first sentence and started to read.

When the television was finally turned off, the cigarette smoke started to dissipate from the ventilation system, and the sound of footsteps could no longer be heard on the wooden floorboards, I knew she finally fell asleep.

  “Let’s go.”

Ryan held one of my t-shirts to his face, the blood soaking through the fabric. “I’m fine, Scar.”

“No. We need to clean it and dress it. What if it gets infected? This is your face we’re talking about.” I kept my voice as quiet as a whisper even though I wanted to scream. “Come on.” I opened my bedroom door then stepped into the hallway. I avoided the creaks in the floor as I trailed to the bathroom. Ryan was close behind me, using his only eye to navigate in the darkness.

When we got into the bathroom, I closed the door behind us then locked it. Ryan sat on the toilet, rubbing his temple.

  “It hurts?”

  “I’m fine,” he said quickly.

I knew he was lying. He took an ashtray to the head, which was originally meant for me.

I looked away then found the rubbing alcohol, a few cotton balls, and some bandages. “This is going to burn a little.”

  He said nothing.

I kneeled before him then pulled his hand away from his face. It was a deep gash, seeping with blood. I wanted to start sobbing because I hated seeing my brother in pain. He didn’t deserve this. It made it worse knowing the hit was meant for me. I kept a stoic face and applied the rubbing alcohol to his face.
