A NOTE ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jacinda Townsend is a Hurston-Wright
Award finalist and former Carol Houck
Smith Fiction Fellow at the University
of Wisconsin. A graduate of Harvard
University, Duke Law School, and the
Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she was also a
Fulbright Fellow to Côte d’Ivoire. Her
writing has appeared in African Voices, Carve
magazine, The Maryland Review, Obsidian
II, Passages North, Phoebe, Xavier Review,
and other journals. She teaches creative
writing at Indiana University, and lives in
Bloomington, Indiana.
