As two guys climbed up to the roof, I believed him. Aiden gave me a sense of comfort, a strong feeling that together, we could get anything accomplished, even this garage.
Luke helped Liam carry in drywall, which they quickly started hanging on the walls that were once rafters. It was starting to look more and more like an apartment, and less like a garage.
I knew Aiden didn’t want to leave his workers, but I asked him to go with me to pick out the flooring, fixtures, and paint. His hand slid to the small of my back as he guided me through the hardware store. It was overwhelming with all the choices, but Aiden made it easy.
“Nothing too fancy,” he insisted with a smile.
I was looking at flooring, loving the smooth bamboo style, and he agreed it would be easier for the walker to glide across, and of course, a wheelchair, if that day was to come, but I couldn’t imagine Anna-Marie in a wheelchair.
“Are you okay?” he asked as I stared into space, my thoughts lost with the old woman who I’d always known to be one of the strongest people I’d ever met.
“I’m fine. I just want everything to be perfect,” I smiled.
He leaned in, pushing my back against the large containers of hardwood on the shelf, his lips pressing hard into mine. He smelled of work, sweat, and masculinity, and my body started to ache from his touch. We’d worked so hard all day that we hadn’t had time alone.
“I can’t wait to get you alone,” he growled in my ear.
I looked over his shoulder at the empty store. I knew the clerk was still up front, and there had not been a bell sound above the door since we entered. We were as close to being alone as we could get, at least for a while.
I reached down, letting the palm of my hand graze at the front of his jeans. His cock was hard, and it made me purr.
Aiden chuckled nervously, pulling back slightly as his eyes gazed into mine with a hunger that made me wild.
“You’re bad,” he teased.
I grinned and then started to blush. I knew it wouldn’t have gone much further, but it was fun watching him squirm.
“We better get this loaded,” I smirked, leaving him with his own ache between his legs.
The ride home, I sat as close to Aiden as possible, pressing my body up against his. We pulled back into his driveway, our driveway. I was really getting used to the idea that this was our home.
Aiden honked his horn, alerting the guys we were back. They all came out, grabbed boxes from the back of the truck, and loaded them into the garage.
I was shocked when I walked in, with all the drywall hung, wiring placed and built-in shelving, countertops, and cabinets installed; it was really looking like a nice apartment.
Everything was low: the counter tops, the cabinets, and even the door handles. Aiden had thought of everything.
While Aiden helped Luke finish the flooring, his shirt got caught on a nail, ripping it just along the seam. He ripped it off, tossing it aside, and gave me the most glorious view of his muscles. My heart raced, my body ached, and arousal slicked between the folds of my pussy. I wanted him so bad I could taste it.
“You’re driving me wild,” I whispered in his ear as I handed him the nail gun.
He just looked up at me and grinned. He knew what he was doing to me, and he loved every second of it.
After all the flirting and teasing, I was certain Aiden and I would fall into one another’s arms after that first day of work, but instead, we fell fast asleep, both exhausted from everything we accomplished. I didn’t mind. I found it sweet to just snuggle up under his arm and go to sleep, all my aches of desire replaced with aches of hard work. Luke had us up first thing in the morning, holding a box of donuts at the edge of our bed.
“I’m leaving today,” he announced.
Aiden slid out of bed, his eyes still groggy and his body stiff.
“Today?” he mumbled, still trying to wake up.
“Yeah. I got the call; they are ready to start, and I promised I’d be there to get it going,” Luke smirked proudly.
Aiden slapped him on the back, congratulated him, and turned back to me with a wink. It was clear he was proud of his friend.
I made coffee, dressed, and swiped one of the donuts from the box before meeting the guys outside.
As I entered through the door, the one attached to our kitchen, I nearly fell back. The guys had arrived early, finishing the drywall sanding, and painting the walls. The floor was complete, a bathroom was framed in and ready to paint, complete with a large shower that would accommodate a wheelchair, and a small kitchenette was situated in the corner. Another door, leading outside, had a ramp with a railing, so Anna-Marie could use her walker or wheelchair to get in and out. It was gorgeous.
“Wow,” I gasped, unable to say much else.
“These guys are amazing,” Alyssa said softly, sliding her arm around my waist.
We both stood there, in awe at the transformation, until Gunner pulled us out of it, slamming into the back of my legs.
“He’s going to need to be trained,” I laughed, realizing that he had little to no grace.
Aiden nodded, and Luke shook his head, still obviously wondering why Aiden chose such a large dog. I loved him. He was perfect. Big, but perfect.
The guys drove two trucks to Anna-Marie’s to find items to add to the apartment, while Alyssa, Holly, and I went off on a shopping spree for new items to brighten up the place.
“So, things are going really well?” she nudged me, smiling so wide it looked as if her face would rip.
“Better than I could ever have imagined,” I admitted.
“Liam wants to have a goodbye dinner for Luke,” Alyssa noted, running her hand over a selection of throw pillows.
I was already looking at sofas, realizing that Anna-Marie’s was old and worn out. She needed something with a recliner, one that pushed her up, like in those commercials.
“Is Liam okay with all this?” I asked casually.
Alyssa smiled and nodded. I knew she understood. It bothered me that I’d lied to Liam before, but this time, it was real, and his blessing was important to me and to Aiden.
“He’s extremely happy for you,” Alyssa admitted.
“What about this?” I asked, pointing to a beautiful, plush sofa.
“We’re supposed to be getting a few décor items,” Alyssa warned.
Holly plopped on the couch, hit the button on the side, and demonstrated the recliner that not only pulled back, but pushed forward, helping the user to stand to their feet.
“That is amazing and useful,” Alyssa smiled.
“Then it’s settled. I’m buying it,” I grinned.
We got back to the house, and all the guys had unloaded the stuff they collected from Anna-Marie’s. I told Aiden about the sofa, and he agreed, stating they ended up leaving hers since it was in such bad shape anyway.
We got to work adding all the finishing touches, and finally, all stood back to take a final look.
“Once the sofa is delivered, it will be perfect,” Aiden noted.
He squeezed me into his side as I looked up at his wide smile. Gunner sat at our feet, acting so very well behaved that it made me laugh.
“He must’ve heard me talk about obedience school,” I smiled.
Gunner’s head turned sideways, and his ears perked straight up.
“Oh yeah, he heard alright. Maybe that threat will be enough to keep him calmed down,” Aiden laughed. “Who’s up for steak?” Aiden boasted loudly, gaining everyone’s attention.
He motioned towards the door of Anna-Marie’s apartment, ushering everyone out.
“Thanks for everything. My treat, let’s hit the steakhouse and give Luke a proper send-off,” Aiden added.
I watched as Aiden gripped Luke around the neck, pulling him into his as if he were giving him an awkward hug. I rolled my eyes in their direction, shrugging at Alyssa. I would never understand the close relationship they shared. I was just grateful for it and loved seeing Aiden so hap
py.
Chapter Thirty-Seven
Aiden
“I can’t believe you got all this done in two days,” Blake reached out and took my hand in hers.
We stood in the doorway of what used to be a garage. It was impressive.
“We got all this done. I couldn’t have done this without you,” I squeezed her hand.
I watched her cheeks blush to a sweet pink. The color reminded of the tender, sweet flesh between her legs. My cock jumped as I tried to talk myself down. She’d been so tired the last couple nights, as had I, but I wasn’t sure how much longer I could wait.
“We better go,” she said softly, as if she knew she’d be pounced upon if we stood there much longer.
I growled playfully, smiled, and then let her lead me from the apartment. I still couldn’t believe she’d agreed to this, that it was in fact, her idea to bring my abuela here to live. We’d just started our life together, truly as husband and wife this time, and she was willing to set our time aside to help family. I loved her. If there were ever a doubt, this clarified it. I loved her more than I could put into words.
The drive to the hospital was short, thankfully, because her smooth leg was peeking out from under her sundress, and I was running out of unsexy thoughts to keep my mind from wandering.
“Anna-Marie is all ready to go,” the nurse greeted us as we walked past the nurse’s station.
In her room, Anna-Marie had her bag packed and was sitting on the edge of the bed. She looked better, but still weak.
“I hate that you kids have to deal with an old woman after you just fell in love,” she scoffed.
I laughed and grabbed her bag.
“We love you, and we fell in love years ago,” I reminded her.
Her eyes moved to Blake, who quickly sat beside her on the bed. I watched as she took her frail hand, holding in her own.
“It means a lot that you agreed to let us help,” Blake said sweetly, bringing out a smile in the old woman.
The nurse arrived in the room with a wheelchair, quickly wiping the smile from my abuela’s face.
“I can walk,” she snapped.
“I’m certain you can walk just fine, but hospital rules, so you’re riding to the car, or you’re staying here,” the nurse smirked.
I chuckled. It was obvious Anna-Marie had been stubborn while she visited the hospital. I couldn’t imagine she was the best of patients.
She finally agreed and moved to the chair with my help. It broke my heart to see her so weak, so dependent on others.
On the ride home, she didn’t say much, other than repeating that she’d only be staying a few days, just until she was stronger.
“I want you to stay as long as you’re comfortable,” I said sternly, deciding not to argue with her just yet.
At the house, she did refuse her wheelchair and insisted on using the walker to get to the house. I watched her struggle with the steps on the front porch while staring at the ramp that could’ve made her life so much easier. She made it to the top, out of breath and stubborn.
“I can’t wait to show you what Aiden did for you,” Blake gushed, opening the door and guiding Anna-Maria inside.
“I thought you said I’d be in the garage,” she scoffed, looking around the inside of our house.
“You have your own door at the front of the driveway with a railing and a ramp if you need it. I just wanted to show you that it is attached to the inside of our house as well, if you ever need anything,” I explained.
“Here, let me help you in,” Blake said sweetly, rolling the empty wheelchair to Anna-Marie.
I was shocked when she smiled and took the seat without even putting up a fight.
Blake pushed her through the house, which we’d made sure to clear a path for the wheelchair for when Anna-Marie was inside with us. Gunner sat at the door to Anna-Marie’s apartment like a perfect gentleman, obviously still worried about the threat of obedience school.
I opened the door to her apartment, and Blake pushed her through the smooth transitional landing. There was a railing for her to grip onto if she wanted to walk, but plenty of space for her to use her electric scooter we’d purchased for her, or the walker when she felt stronger.
“Holy cow,” the old woman gasped, standing from the chair.
I pushed her walker in front of her, and she used it to step further into the room.
“This doesn’t look like a garage at all,” she gasped.
I shook my head proudly.
“Where’s your garage door?” she asked, looking towards the new wall framed up with a front door and bay window.
“Gone,” I smiled.
“Where will you put your vehicles?” she asked.
“Liam and I are building a pole barn out back, one large enough for all the vehicles, and with a gravel lane leading back there,” I explained.
“But, when you have children, you’ll need your car closer to the house to get them in and out,” she insisted.
“We still have the driveway,” Blake smiled.
I looked towards her, checking her reaction at the mention of children. She didn’t flinch at the idea, which made my heart race. I wanted a family with Blake. I hoped she felt the same way.
“I’m sorry, I’m late,” Liana burst through the door.
I watched my mother’s expression as she took in the place. Tears welled up in her eyes and immediately caused Blake and my abuela’s eyes to flood as well. Oh man, I wasn’t prepared for this.
“It’s beautiful,” Liana gushed, and immediately wrapped her arms around me and squeezed too tight.
We got Anna-Maria settled in and talked about what she wanted to do with her house. She was still determined that she would make it back there one day, so selling it was out of the question.
“There’s stairs, and it’s not safe for you,” I tried to explain to the stubborn old woman.
She shook her head. “I’m stronger than you think,” she insisted.
That, I believed.
“What if we fixed it up, and rented it, and you would have some extra money,” Blake suggested.
Anna-Marie liked that idea, although I was certain it was only because it came from Blake, and not me or my mother.
Even though my mother would’ve taken Anna-Marie in, she was in a one-bedroom home, and there was no space to add on for what Anna-Marie would need.
“What will I do with all my stuff?” Anna-Marie asked.
I looked around the apartment, noticing that most of her belongings were already there, at least anything of importance. Blake had gone through the house with a fine-tooth comb, ensuring that every picture, every trinket, and all her important cookware were brought over in the last load.
“We’ll put it in storage, sell it, toss it, bring it here, whatever you want,” I gave her the options.
“I think I have everything I need. If there’s anything you want, take it, otherwise, just toss it,” she smirked.
It was obvious she was happy with her new home, and from the look on Blake’s face, it was obvious she was just as excited.
“I’m going to make dinner,” Liana announced, rushing from the apartment.
Shit. We were never going to be alone.
“I need a shower,” Blake smiled, excusing herself, and leaving me and my abuela alone.
“When are you going to have a wedding?” Abuela asked with a wild smile in her eyes.
“We’re already married,” I chuckled.
“Yes, but I want to buy a pretty dress and be there this time. It would be nice to have a picture of you two to hang on my wall,” she added.
I knew there was no use fighting the old woman on this one. Luke had already cornered me, telling me he’d be my best man if I decided to go through with it again, and I knew Blake deserved a real wedding. I wanted it too.
“I’ll talk to Blake about finding the perfect date,” I promised and left her to settle in.
I helped my mom in the kitchen and quickly rushed her
out once she was done with the meal.
“I just want to help,” she insisted.
“And you are, trust me. I just really want some alone time with my wife,” I grinned in my mother’s direction.
“Oh,” she giggled and then grabbed her bag.
“I’ll call you if we need anything,” I promised, and then guided her to the door.
I made Anna-Marie’s plate and brought it out to her, leaving it on the table where she wanted it.
“Do you want to come eat with us, or have us out here to eat with you?” I offered, praying she would say no.
“I could use some rest,” she smiled.
Thank God.
I went back into the kitchen, sat at the table, and waited for Blake to come back out. The water had shut off, and I’d heard the blow dryer blowing hot air for the last ten minutes, so I knew she’d be in the kitchen soon.
“Where’s your mom?” she asked, a towel still wrapped around her damp hair, too thick to blow dry all at once.
She wore a sundress so short that her legs were what my eyes filled with as she walked in. I grabbed her around the waist, pulling her onto my lap. My mouth pushed into hers as she let out a soft squeal of surprise, and for what felt like the first time in forever, our bodies melted together in a passionate kiss.
I lifted from the chair, carrying her in my arms towards the bedroom.
“Aiden, where is everyone?” she whispered.
“I sent mom away, and Abuela is resting,” I explained, tossing her gently on the thick mattress as she let out another squeal.
“You’re a bad boy,” she purred, biting down gently on her bottom lip.
I grinned, taking in the beautiful view of her body sprawled on the mattress. She had no idea just how bad. I planned to make good on all the bad thoughts I’d had about her in the last two days, and now, there was no one to stop me except Blake.
“Are you still tired?” I asked, pulling my shirt from my sore muscles.
Her head shook as she bit down harder on her lip.
I undid my pants, freeing my hard cock to my hand. It was swollen, aching, and trembled in my hand as I searched for the condom. Blake leaned up, caressing my hips as I searched through the drawer. Her lips tightened around my tip, and then lowered down my shaft. A growl rolled from my throat just as I found the package. I stood tall, looking down at my beautiful wife, her lips so pink, so full, and her eyes filled with the same hunger I felt. There was nothing or no one that could make me happier. She was all I wanted. My wife.
