As though sensing her need, he eased back, taking the front edge of her shirt in his powerful hands. “Enough playing around.”
He didn’t know how good that sounded. She bit her bottom lip, looking up at him.
“Gods, Lauren. You undo me when you look at me like that.” Raw, unvarnished need pulsed in his eyes, making the blue glow as hot as a nebula.
“Then undo me the same.”
He ripped her shirt apart as though it was nothing more than paper, freeing her breasts. He palmed their softness, as though they were the most precious thing he’d ever seen, raw hunger etched into the rugged lines of his face. “Gods. You're beautiful.”
And she felt as though she was the most beautiful person in the entire universe. She sucked in an audible breath as he fell onto her breasts like a man starving, devouring one peak, swirling his tongue around and around the sensitive nub.
She clung to his shoulders, head tilted back as he went from one breast to the other, murmuring how beautiful she was, how sweet she tasted. The building sensation morphed into something more. More urgent. More potent. Just…more.
“Not enough.”
He removed his mouth from her breasts, the air cool where his hot mouth had been. He looked down at her, the same need that coursed through her body mirrored back at her. “Fuck me, Joe. Fuck me hard and fuck me fast.” She didn’t know where the words came from, but she was helpless as they fell from her mouth.
His face transformed from mere need to something animalistic. She slid her hand between her thighs, needing to release some pressure. He flipped her hand away, holding her wrist with one hand while his other cupped her core. Sensation shot through her body, and she gasped.
“I’ll give you what you need, Lauren.” He started rubbing her through her pants, his finger pressing onto her clit, then tracing the seam between her lips. She groaned, canting her hips with his movements. It felt so good. So good. Her eyes fell closed as she gave herself away to the delicious sensation.
“I’ll touch you. I’ll give you what you want. What you need. I’m a slave to you, Lauren. I’ll worship you until the day I die.”
He crushed her lips while he cupped her sex and rubbed her clit through her pants. There was nothing soft about this kiss. It was one of pure male possession. A kiss of ownership. She was his, and he was hers and God, was that so right.
She sobbed into the kiss, clinging to him. The lifeline she needed. He quickly withdrew, and next thing she knew, he picked her up and lay her on the bed. He wasted no time removing her pants, the air cool against her heated skin. He gripped beneath her knees, shooting her down the bed so that her hips were perched just at the end. Without preamble, he knelt between her thighs, his broad shoulders pushing her legs apart. The skin on skin at her sensitive thighs was absolutely delicious.
His face poised over her most private place, the place that cried out to be touched. His nostrils flared, and he drew a deep, slow breath. “Gods, Lauren. You smell delicious. Like a ripe flower ready to be plucked.”
Her legs trembled, anticipation pumping adrenaline and need, a drug that couldn’t be denied, through her system. “Touch me, Joe. Please…I need you…”
He looked up her body, eyes blazing, the angles of his face sharp and raw. As she watched, he opened his mouth. His tongue appeared between his lips, and he lowered his head. Their gaze remained connected as he swiped along her slit in a long and languid stroke. She whimpered. She nearly came undone.
The bliss of that first, long, slow stroke almost sent her over the edge. She tossed her head back, arching her back and closed her eyes as heaven drew her up and up. He grunted a sound of male satisfaction and then his face pressed into her seam. His tongue surged over her lips, drawing from her entrance to her clit. She throbbed as ecstasy built.
His palm centred over her abdomen, stilling her bucking hips. She hadn’t realised she’d been moving. His tongue dove into her entrance as the thumb of his free hand played with her clit. This time a strangled scream came out of her mouth. Her hands scrunched the blankets and her back arched.
“That’s it, Lauren. Let it go. Let everything go.” His voice reverberated from her core and shot up through her body, adding to the building tension.
He kissed her clit like he would her mouth. He sucked the delicate nub and used his lips and his clever tongue. A thick finger pushed into her core, rubbing against the bundle of nerves right where she needed.
Her half scream turned into sobbing. Pressure. Tension. Her abdomen tensed, breath hitched, and she exploded, her body riding a golden peak of sensation that separated her mind from her body.
She drifted down and only had half the wits to open her eyes. Jo’Aquin stood at the end of the bed. Naked. His erection standing tall and proud, bobbing against his abdomen while he stood, watching her splayed form. She held her hands out to him. She wanted him. “In me. Now.”
He didn’t waste time. He slid her up the bed, coming to rest between her parted thighs. The tip of his cock nudged her slick entrance.
He locked his elbows either side of her, bent to kiss her and thrust his long cock inside her. She screamed into his mouth.
He drew out. In. Long. Slow.
She opened her legs as far as she could, wrapping her heels behind his backside. She gave him a little kick. “Don’t be careful.”
Surprise registered for no more than a second before a primal spark ignited his eyes. He rocked into her, his balls hitting her backside, grinding his hips to the hilt. A burst of air erupted from her lungs with the thrust.
He withdrew, pistoned into her again. His cock reached the tip of her womb, striking a set of nerves she never knew existed. His abdomen rubbed against her, causing the best kind of friction. He pumped again. And again. Hips canting to rub against her clit.
Pressure built. Bigger than the last. Another thrust and she tumbled over the edge of pure bliss. She screamed and bit his shoulder as every muscle in her body locked with pleasure.
He came to his knees, drawing her butt upwards with his hands, holding her in place as he plunged into her. Sensation built again. And again, another orgasm sparked, rocked through her body, and sent her soul flying.
His rhythm increased. His body grew tense. He tossed his head back. His fingers dug into her flesh, and he roared. His shaft throbbed, and a hot stream surged into her womb. He was motionless, shaft buried deep in her, body bowed back, the chiselled muscles on his chest and abs rock hard, face tense in ecstasy.
He was magnificent.
He was hers. Body and soul. There was no denying it.
And he was going to leave.

J o’Aquin woke to a quiet rustling. He slowly opened his eyes to the most wonderful sight he’d ever laid eyes on. He blinked a couple of times to make sure he was awake, and still not dreaming.
Lauren lifted her arm, her gaze upon a delicate purple flower on the end of a bright orange vine that was wound around her arm. As she brought the flower to her face, it leaned towards her, as though to kiss her.
She trailed a fingertip around the edges of the petals. It shuddered and opened wider to expose a fragile stamen. The light perfume teased his nostrils, a scent unlike he’d smelt before. Correction – taken the time to smell before.
In amazement, his gaze travelled throughout the room. Fresh vines and flowers were draped over every conceivable surface in the tiny bedroom. Sprouts appeared on the bed frame. A fission of colourful flowers decorated the walls. A mass of leaves traced the small window like a living frame and trailed inside to criss-cross the bed. Thin vines caressed Lauren, lovingly tracing the profile of her naked body.
He relaxed back against the pillow, content to watch her. Her gaze trailed around the bedroom, like his had done, but the look of wonder on her face drew him in so that the room simply faded away.
She turned to him then, noticing that he was awake and a smile like sunshine lit her face. “Joe! Look at all this. Isn’t it amazing?” She bru
shed the leaves and flowers that adorned her body. “I guess Mother wasn’t lying, was she?”
He placed a flower behind her ear and brushed a kiss on her temple. “It doesn’t look like she did. You are truly the Queen of this planet now.”
Happiness radiated from her face. In fact, her body glowed with health and vitality, her skin dewy and fresh as she no doubt looked in the height of her youth. “I didn’t think I’d feel like this. I thought it would be like a prison sentence, that I’d be stuck here until I was old and grey, but... I can feel it, Joe. The planet. It’s so alive . Full of life. I can almost hear it breathe. The heartbeat pulses with energy. I can even see it in the leaves. The flowers. I’m a part of it, Joe. I’m a part of this planet!”
She smiled, her lush, dusky pink lips tilting upward. Her face washed with joy. In that breath-taking moment, she was absolutely exquisite. She should always be this happy. He traced her lower lip with the pad of his thumb. “I’ve never met anyone more worthy to receive a gift such as this.”
Her gaze wandered dreamily over his face, and then slowly, the joy faded. Her smile faded. “I guess you get to experience it for a little while.”
His heart gave a great big pound, as though it was a fist punching him from the inside. He rubbed his chest, but the pain stayed. “You look so sad.”
She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “I’ve got nothing to be sad about, do I? I’m the Queen here. I can save people. Save its plants and animals. I’d never be able to live this life if I was still on Earth. I wouldn’t even know about it. I’d still be the sad little widow. Now I have nothing to be sad about.”
His chest tightened as her voice cracked. He flattened his palm to her cheek, stopping her from looking away. “What if it didn’t have to be that way?”
A furrow appeared in her forehead. “I have to stay. I can’t leave.”
“I mean, I would like to stay. Here. With you.” Please say yes . That was the hardest thing he’d ever had to say. If Striker could see him now, the big, bad Starship Commander, reduced to a pile of hesitancy. He fleetingly wondered why, but he really knew.
It was because what he said was important. She was important.
“But...why?” She put her hand over his, looking up at him with those beautiful, large, luminous eyes he couldn’t get enough of.
“Why? You don’t know?”
She looked so confused. She really didn’t know. He captured her lips with his, giving her a soft, slow kiss. “Because in all of the years of my long life, in all of the stations across the galaxies, in everything I’ve done between Hexion and Earth, I’ve been lonely. And you, Lauren, you fill that place inside I’ve been searching to be filled. Only you.” He kissed her again, deeper, sliding his tongue between the seam of her lips. “You make me full, you make me want to wake up in the morning and enjoy my day. Everything else fades into insignificance if I can’t share my life with you. I love you, Lauren. That’s the reason I want to stay here with you. I’ve fallen in love with you, and I don’t want to be anywhere else but with you. That is...if you’ll have me?”
Her lips moved wordlessly. Her eyes filled with water. “Do you really mean that?” Her words were a mere whisper.
He gathered her into his arms and moved so that she lay beneath him. He put his arms either side of her. So as not to crush her, but he wanted her to see him, hear him. More importantly, he wanted her to believe him. “I’m in love with you, Lauren. I want to live here with you.”
“But...but you’re a Starship Commander. You have a ship. You can travel the universe. You can’t give all that up,” she said.
He shook his head. She thought so little of herself. She didn’t realise she meant more than the entire universe. “It’s an unfair trade, I agree.” She opened her mouth to reply, but he cut her off with another kiss. “You’re worth ten Starship Commands and fifty Starships. Lauren, I wouldn’t care if I was God of the Galaxy. I’d happily give it all up. For you. You mean more to me than anything like that. You make me happy. You fill me with joy. Granted, you make me a little frustrated at times...”
She grinned and tapped his arm. He grinned back. Good, she was beginning to understand. He would make it his life’s mission to make her fully understand the depth of his love. “I want you, Lauren. Not just now, or tomorrow, or whenever the Galactic Federation tells me I have to go. If I don’t have you, I have nothing. I want you always. I love you. I never want to leave you.”
She stared up at him, lying still. Silent. He barely breathed, waiting for her to answer. There was a rustling, and vines slid over his back and down his legs, entwining their bodies together. A leaf brushed his cheek as though it was her hand. A vine slid to the back of his head and pressed him down to her until their lips lightly touched.
“Do you know what you’ve just gone and done?” she whispered.
“I have no idea.”
“You’ve just made me the happiest woman in the known universe. I love you too, Joe. So much that I can barely think straight. I even think I started to fall in love with you in that horrible Reptile capsule. I love you. I want you to stay with me. Please. Stay forever.”
A huff of air left him as relief made his body sag. He wound his arms beneath her, gathering her to his chest, as he kissed her. “We’ll have forever. Here. We’ll make this planet our home. Together.”
Her legs fell apart as he positioned himself between her hot thighs. Her inner heat burned for him. “Yes. Together.”
He positioned himself at her entrance and eased inside, revelling in the slick wetness. She tossed her head back and groaned, her glorious auburn hair spilling over the pillow. She clutched his shoulders and locked her heels behind his backside.
“Forever, my love.”
“Nothing would make me happier.” She smiled as he eased in an out of her in long, slow, delicious slides.
He slid in, pushing his hips into her channel and stayed there. His cock throbbed as he manoeuvred his hips to rub against the little nub at the top of her slit. She gasped, her gaze finding his. He watched with complete satisfaction as she unfolded over the edge. He kissed her, sucking her groan into his mouth and held her there as she drifted back down.
“You look altogether too happy with yourself,” she said, rather breathily.
“Just giving you a taste of things to come.”
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, undulating her hips so that she was thrusting in and out. He groaned. His muscles tightened, anticipating his own release. “Let me love you, Joe. Take your pleasure. Please. Let me show you how much I love you.”
She pushed him in with her heels and let him slide out. She nipped his lips. Fire grew from the tip of his cock, quickly igniting his whole body. He withdrew to the tip and slammed back into her welcoming body. It wasn’t enough. Would never be enough.
He increased his rhythm. His skin drew tight, he reared back as exquisite sensation poured through him. His essence poured out of him again and again. All around, new flowers bloomed, leaves rustled and glowed.
As he came back down into his body again, he fell to his side and gathered Lauren next to him in a sated heap. Yes, he’d been a Starship Commander, but it could never compare to the amazing woman in his arms.
His life had just begun.

M alCom had given up his tree house. He kind of had to. In the two days Lauren had lived there, the tree was more alive on the inside than on the outside. She woke to fresh, exotic blooms studding the walls of every room, washing the house in delicate perfumes that set her heart alight. Leaves created a soft carpet underfoot, and vines would brush her body every so often.
MalCom told her she could keep it if she wanted it. It held too many memories for him, and he wanted to be near Mother to help the people where it was needed most. Even though she’d protested that she couldn’t push him out of his home, he’d simply packed the few personal possessions he had that hadn’t been destroyed during the Reptile occupation, headed
out the door, and left her in her new, magical home.
Best of all, Jo’Aquin had not left her side. It sounded corny, but he’d been the one to make this house a real home. A home she’d always wanted. Even though she’d married Mike, they’d been more best friends than real lovers. She could see that now that she knew the difference.
She couldn’t believe she was so lucky. Joe was everything she’d always wanted. Even more. She drew from his strength, his patience, and his intelligence. What made it even better was that he wasn’t afraid to show her how much he loved her. He’d kiss her a hundred times a day, touch her, caress her, hold her, hug her. She’d never felt so cherished. So precious. So loved.
She only had to be abducted from Earth to find him.
The focus of her thoughts walked down the stairs, damp from his shower. He smiled and headed straight to her. He captured her with an arm about her waist and lost no time kissing her. “Hey, don’t I get a good morning first?” She smiled up at him, tucking a lock of dark hair off his forehead.
“Good morning, first,” he said and kissed her again.
She giggled – giggled! Like she was sixteen! – and kissed him back. Soon, she was lost in a kiss that was quickly becoming more urgent. She let the sensations sweep her to a place she was more than happy to go.
A knock at the door made her jump. She glanced up at Jo’Aquin, and he chuckled. He gestured to the closed door. “Your subjects await.”
She’d walked down the street yesterday. Word had quickly spread about her newfound abilities and she’d soon been surrounded by people needing her touch. She gladly gave it, thrilled at being able to heal. After hours, the crowd had finally thinned, and they’d returned home, tired but satisfied.
A woman stood at the door, a thin, frail toddler in her arms. The woman hadn’t fared that much better. Mother and MalCom stood either side.
