Sean Page 19

“Ahh, yes,” she said. She was building. I kept it steady and she felt amazing. “Harder,” she begged. I thrust harder, deeper, and faster as I massaged her quickly. “Yes, Sean, aahhh.” She let her arms fall, but her head was still against the tile. I chuckled. When I slowly pulled out of her, her knees went weak. I put my arms around her.

“C’mere, baby.” I stood her up and quickly rinsed her. “Let’s get you to bed.”

“As soon as I brush my teeth, I’ll be ready for round two. There’s no way I’m going to sleep with that lying next to me.” She pointed to my hard-on.

“Sorry,” I said. “I drank a lot. Now I have whiskey dick.” She about choked on her toothpaste. “It’s when you’ve drank too much and it takes a long time to come.”

A huge smile crept across her face and I knew we wouldn’t be sleeping anytime soon. “Like I said, there’s no way I’m going to sleep with that next to me.” I loved that she wouldn’t hear of wasting a good boner.

It took an hour, and by the time we were done, we’d used every move, lube, and toy we had. We feel asleep immediately afterward with smiles on our faces.

  ***

My head throbbed when I opened my eyes but as soon as I focused and saw the beauty looking back at me, I instantly felt better.

“Your room looks like there was an orgy in it,” she said with a giggle. “How’s your whiskey dick feeling this morning?”

I chuckled. “Throbbing, along with my head.”

“I’ll get you some water and ibuprofen,” she said. “Unless you want a little hair of the dog?” I wondered which dog she was referring to, the one that kicked me in the head, or the one that rode me raw. “Don’t answer that,” she said. “The look on your face says it all.” She skipped into the other room. I closed my eyes and prayed that I’d feel half as good as she did in a couple hours.

“Here you go, sexy.” She popped the pills in my mouth and held the water while I took a gulp. “If you can, you should drink this entire bottle and go back to sleep. You’ll feel better when you get up later.”

I sat up and gulped it down, hoping she was right. I looked at the clock. It was 9:15. I was relieved and laid back down. “Thank you,” I told her.

I heard music when I opened my eyes. It took me a minute to remember what was going on. I looked at the clock. It was 12:29 p.m. My head didn’t hurt at all anymore and neither did my cock. I peeked under the blanket, yep, it was still there. I laid back and smiled as I thought about my amazing girlfriend and the night before. Then I sat straight up like a bolt. I smelled something! I whipped back the blanket and ran to the kitchen. Yes! There they were on the counter, chocolate chip cookies! I popped one into my mouth and heard a giggle.

There was Brynn on her yoga mat, holding a headstand with her legs stretched apart, giggling at me. “Put some boxers on, at least!” she said.

I looked down and laughed. “Sorry, I smelled cookies. Be right back!” I ran to my room and pulled on my basketball shorts.

“I made you an omelet,” she said as she stretched her legs back upward. “It’s in the fridge.”

“Mmm, cookies and an omelet?” I got on my hands and knees and crawled to her. “I must’ve been a good boy last night.” I kissed her, which was sorta awkward since she was upside down.

“Yes, you were very good.” She smiled. “Go eat. We’re going to the beach in half an hour.”

“Really? Have you talked to Gia already?” I was surprised they’d made plans.

“Yeah. Go eat.” I jumped up, tossed the omelet in the microwave, and made toast. As I ate, I watched Brynn do her yoga. After watching her at the club, I knew why she had to stay so limber. She finished up and went to change. I followed.

“Are you excited about tonight?” I asked.

“Yes! You?” She was completely naked and about to pull her bikini bottoms on.

“Very, mainly because it’s a Saturday night date with you. We never have that.” I longed for weekends together.

“I know,” she said. “I wish I could work Monday through Friday, but weekends are where the money is. I made seven-fifty last night.”

“That’s gonna be tough to give up, huh?” I pulled on my trunks.

“What?” She turned so I could tie the back of her top.

  “Sashay…the money…when you start school.”

She spun around and laughed. “I’m not giving up Sashay when I start school.”

“I thought you said you only had to put up with it until school started next year?” I didn’t like where this was going.

“Well, I meant as a full time job. I plan on keeping Friday and Saturday nights. Just because I’ll have enough to pay for school doesn’t mean I don’t have to work. I still have to pay rent and living expenses. If I can pull in a grand every weekend at Sashay, it’d be pretty stupid to work twice as much somewhere else for half the money.” She talked softly as she explained it. I was sure she’d said she wasn’t going to work there anymore, but maybe I misinterpreted what she’d said. I wasn’t happy but I wasn’t going to let it ruin our night.

“I must’ve misunderstood before. Let’s go meet our friends.”

  Chapter 12

Ethan was still giving me shit about sleeping so late when we parked at the beach. He and Gia looked plenty rested and they were still going after I quit.

“Leave him alone,” Brynn said. “I worked him over pretty hard after we got back to his place.” They laughed and she winked at me. “I thought you were pretty adorable this morning with your throbbing heads,” she whispered.

Brynn and I picked a spot on the beach and threw down our blanket before we raced to the water like we always did. I was a monkey’s uncle again. She was fast for such a tiny thing. When we met in our usual spot, she wrapped her arms and legs around me and we watched the waves roll in, just like always. We’d gone to the beach so much over the summer it was a routine for us.

I looked back to the beach and saw Ethan and Gia hand in hand strolling along the shore. I thought of what they’d been through and overcome. They get to spend all their time together. They work together, live together, and play together. They have what I’ve always wanted, what I still want. I didn’t even know what Brynn wanted, but I was going to find out on Monday when we had our talk.

“Whatcha thinkin’ about?” Brynn asked when she saw I was looking the opposite direction.

“I’m happy for them,” I said.

“Me too. It’s nice to witness two people who so obviously belong together. They’re like two pieces of a puzzle that interlock perfectly.”

  “Yeah,” I sighed.

  “What’s wrong?”

“I hope to have that someday,” I said as I stared at them walking and laughing.

  “I hope you do, too.”

As I watched them, I wondered if they snuggled up and watched movies while sharing Ben & Jerry’s. Did he bring her pizza and Chinese food that they ate right out of the box while flirting and giving each other boatloads of shit? Did she still suck at bowling? Was she having nightmares? Were they absolutely positive they wanted to get married and spend the rest of their lives together? Would he be able to be faithful to her after all his years of sleeping around?

I turned and looked back out into the ocean. It was magnificent. I noticed Brynn was gone. I looked around, but didn’t see her. I figured she was swimming. I went to the beach. Gia and Ethan were laying on the blanket.

“Have you seen Brynn?” I asked.

“Yeah, she was walking the shore a little bit ago,” Ethan said.

“You’re in my sun,” Gia told me.

I sat on the other side of Ethan. Hmm. Brynn’s never walked the shore by herself. Why didn’t I notice when she left me out there? I was clueless. I looked as far to the left as I could see, but I didn’t see her. Then I looked to the right, nothing. I was a little worried.

  “Which way was she going?”

  Ethan pointed to the left.

  “I’m go
nna go walk with her.” I headed left. I walked for some time. I scanned the people on the shore and the people in the water, but no Brynn. I was more than a little worried as I headed back. As I got closer, I noticed another body on the blanket. I jogged toward it and as I approached I was relieved to see that it was Brynn.

“Jesus,” I said. “I was worried about you! Where’d you go?”

“Keep your panties on. I walked over to the nice bathrooms and then got smoothies. There’s yours.” She pointed to a cup in the shade.

“I’m sorry.” I sat next to her. She lay still and kept her eyes shut to the sun. “I didn’t even know you left.”

“Really?” She was sarcastic. Apparently she noticed that I hadn’t noticed. Fuck.

“I’m sorry,” I repeated. No response. I laid next to her and took her hand. She didn’t reciprocate, but she didn’t pull away, either. I ran through the events in my head. I’d gotten caught up in Ethan and Gia and said I hoped to have that someday. Fuck. Then Brynn said she hoped I would, too. Double fuck! That was the last thing I remembered saying out loud. Was it really that bad? Was she mad at me? Disappointed in me? I sighed and squeezed her hand. I lifted it to my mouth and kissed it. She rolled onto her stomach and stretched her arms above her head. Her face was toward Ethan. That was a bad sign.

After about fifteen minutes, Ethan and Gia decided to swim. As soon as they hit the water I tried to talk to Brynn.

“Brynn, I don’t know why I keep disappointing you. It isn’t intentional and I’m so sorry.” She didn’t respond. “Are you upset over what I said about wanting what Ethan and Gia have? I know that probably sounded like a burn to you, but that was not my intention. I would never purposely say anything to hurt you. I’m a man, and I’m human, we say stupid shit all the time. Please talk to me.” She sat up slowly and hugged her knees into her chest.

“This is not the time, nor the place to discuss this. I’m fully prepared to have a great time with my friends tonight and act like nothing is wrong, but believe me, something is very wrong. I will be sleeping in my own bed at the end of the night and I will be alone. Any questions?” she said softly and stared straight ahead. I’m such a fucking idiot! Everything was going perfectly.

“Are you breaking up with me?” My voice cracked and I held back tears.

  “No,” she said.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. “Do I still have a chance to fix this?”

“Yes.” She was so matter of fact. She took off her sunglasses and set them on the blanket before she took off for the water. I watched as she swam alone. I wanted to swim out to her and play in the water like we always did, but I knew she didn’t want to be around me. I hadn’t screwed it up completely and I still had a chance. I had to get my shit together.

I got back in the water and swam out to where Brynn and I were earlier, where we always went. I watched the waves roll in and wondered what I even meant by what I said. What do Ethan and Gia have that Brynn and I don’t? What do I want that I don’t have?

“Remember our first date? When we came here?” Brynn startled me.

“Of course I do. How could I forget that? You were behind me and put your arms around my neck.” I smiled at her. “You rested your chin on my shoulder and I wanted to kiss you so bad.” I stared into her eyes. “Like I do right now,” I added.

“What about when we were out here earlier today?” Her face was sad.

“I got caught up while I watched Ethan and Gia together.”

  “Why?” She was hurt.

“That’s what I was trying to figure out when you joined me just now.” I tried to comfort her with my eyes.

“I’m curious what you come up with. It would mean a lot to me if you’d share it with me. I’ve been nothing but open and honest with you and that’s all I’m asking in return. When you finally figure it out, that is.” She swam back to the shore. It was like she was trying to help me see it, like she knew the answer but wanted me to get it on my own. She wanted to help me, help us! That was a good sign. If I didn’t get it, she’d help me when we talked on Monday.

I watched her on the shore as she dug her feet and hands in the sand. The water ran up, rinsed her, and she dug in again. She repeated it over and over. A guy walking his dog stopped and chatted with her. She laughed and fell back on the sand as the dog tried to lick her face. The guy scolded the dog, but then sat down next to Brynn. He talked, she laughed. I swam toward them. I heard her laugh as I got closer. Apparently this guy is some kind of comedian, funny as hell. I came out of the water just to the right of them. The guy looked at me and said, “Hey, man,” and kept telling his hilarious story to Brynn, who hadn’t even acknowledged me. I walked up to the blanket and sat down.

I laid on the blanket and closed my eyes to the sun. I was jealous of some guy who was talking to my girlfriend and I pouted about it. If you wouldn’t have been an asshole earlier, you’d be with her right now instead of him, dipshit. I took a peek at them. She was still amused. What could possibly be so fucking funny? I had to get a handle on myself. It was an innocent conversation and I was fuming inside like she was screwing the guy. I took some deep breaths and counted to twenty. I took another peek. The guy and his dog had moved on and Brynn was swimming toward Ethan and Gia. Good!

I watched them for a while before Ethan headed my way.

“Everything all right, Sean?” he asked as he sat beside me.

“Yeah.” I didn’t sound very convincing.

“I gotta tell you, after spending some time around Brynn, including at the club last night, she’s really something. Most men only dream of having a woman like her look at them the way she looks at you.” He turned his head toward me, but I kept mine on the girls. “It’s funny how some things are so obvious, yet we let them pass right before our eyes without seeing them.”

“Are you going somewhere with this?” I didn’t know what he was getting at.

“Just because your eyes are open it doesn’t mean you’re seeing what’s in front of you,” he said.

“If you’re talking about Brynn, I’m seeing her very clearly. She’s amazing and I’m not letting her out of my sight.”

Ethan laughed. “You’re not letting her? Do you really think Brynn is the type of woman to take orders from you or anyone else?”

“Definitely not.” I smiled as I watched her and Gia racing to the shore. “I guess I’m not getting what you’re putting out.”

“I just think you might be a little distracted.”

The girls joined us. Brynn sat next to me but once again didn’t acknowledge me. I was keeping in mind what Ethan had said but I certainly didn’t agree with him.

“The water’s fantastic today, huh?” I asked Brynn.

“Very refreshing,” she said. She laid back on the blanket and closed her eyes.

“Who was the guy with the dog?” I was dying to know.

“A regular at Sashay,” she said.

“Oh.” I wondered why she didn’t introduce me and what was so funny that she didn’t stop giggling the entire time he talked to her, but I didn’t ask.

We hung out a while longer and then decided to head back to get showered for our night out. We dropped Ethan and Gia at the hotel and Brynn asked me to drop her off at her place to get ready.

“I was hoping we could spend some time talking,” I said.

“I don’t want to talk. I want to shower and relax. You can pick me up before you pick them back up.”

“I want us to be ‘us’ tonight. I don’t want you to be upset with me. I want to laugh with you, hold you, and kiss you.” I told her.

  “What about what I want?”

  “What do you want?”

“I want it all, just like you do.” She was sad.

“Then let me give it all to you,” I pleaded.

“I am, Sean, I am. I’ll see you soon.” She hopped out and hurried to her building.

I headed for home, wondering what it was that she wanted from me that I wasn
’t giving her. She wanted it all. What did that mean? I’d asked her to move in with me and she refused. We went out together all the time, spending as much of our free time together as we could. We got along great. We had unbelievable sex. What did she want? I couldn’t wait to sit down with her on Monday and talk.

  Chapter 13

Brynn gave me a light-up-the-world smile when she opened her door and I was instantly floating. I could tell she was going to let go of the beach thing and we were going to be us. I released the breath I’d been holding and handed her the flowers I’d picked out. She closed her eyes and smelled them, like she always did.

  “Thank you. They’re beautiful.”

“So are you.” I was in awe. She was wearing tight jeans with black ankle boots and her shirt looked like a bandana. The front was straight across right above her breasts and came to a V at her belly button. Her back was completely bare except for where her shirt tied opposite her breasts and her skin sparkled overtop of her glowing tan. “You own this outfit.”

“You like it? I wasn’t sure about the bandana for a shirt.”

“I love it.” I kissed her softly as I pressed my hands flat against the small of her bare back.

“Good. That’s all that matters.” She smiled and replaced the flowers in her vase.

“Thank you, Brynn, for giving me a chance tonight. Before we leave, I want to tell you something.”

Her eyes lit up. “Okay,” she said softly.

I took her hands. “I haven’t been in a relationship for a long time. I’ve wanted this, what we have, for almost as long. This past summer was the best of my life and that was because of you. Please continue to be patient with me, especially when I screw up, which it seems I’ve been doing a lot lately. I’m so glad we’re going to sit down and talk on Monday. I want this to be the ‘make it’ weekend more than anything.”

“So do I.” She smiled. “It was without a question the best summer of my life also, and I’d hate to lose you now.” She kissed me and bit my lower lip. I pulled her to me aggressively and held her face firmly. It was a thrill to feel such passion for someone.
