  (L)ittle (B)its of Gratitude

It all started with a pandemic. Not the best way to start a story, but it’s true. We needed to get out of the house, and my youngest wanted to go blueberry picking. It was June and the blueberries in Michigan weren’t ready yet. Strawberry picking it was then. My husband convinced us to stay the weekend. Take a break. With safety measures in place, we traveled to southwest Michigan, spent days on the shores of Lake Michigan, and people watched. It’s how I get much of my inspiration.

Four men sat on the sand surrounded by children, but only two women. I made up their storylines in my head. Then, I plotted their life with paper and pen. The stories had to wait a full year before hitting my computer, and this is the start of that spur-of-the-moment getaway during the pandemic of 2020. I’m hoping to make history here, in a better way.

It takes a village, or in my case, a small town of people to produce a book, so I’d like to thank a few.

Shannon: Another amazing cover. Thought you might clobber me over this one but when we finally got it right, it was right.

Regina: I don’t know you personally, but your images are breathtaking.

Mel: Cheesus, I can’t even start with you, but know this, as a first reader, turned follower, turned friend, turned editor, this book publishes pretty close to the anniversary of that first book, so seven years, my friend. Seven years. And I thank everything in the universe for putting you on my path and joining me on this journey.

Jen: For making my words better.

Karen: For finding the words I forgot.

A new Jenn: For taking on the role to help me organize bloggers, bookstagrammers and the release tour.

Sylvia and Tami: My unsung heroines who keep up Loving L.B., the best reader group ever, filled with the most loyal, inspiring, hot-mess-heroines who keep me going. Every. Single. Day.

And to my family: Mr. Dunbar, MD (and D), MK, JR and A. You’re all part of how I live my best life, over fifty!

L.B. Dunbar has an over-active imagination. To her benefit, such creativity has led to over thirty romance novels, including those offering a second chance at love over 40. Her signature works include the #sexysilverfoxes collection of mature males and feisty vixens ready for romance in their prime years. She’s also written stories of small-town romance (Heart Collection), rock star mayhem (The Legendary Rock Stars Series), and a twist on intrigue and redemption (Redemption Island Duet). She’s had several alter egos including elda lore, a writer of romantic magical realism through mythological retellings (Modern Descendants). In another life, she wanted to be an anthropologist and journalist. Instead, she was a middle school language arts teacher. The greatest story in her life is with the one and only, and their four grown children. Learn more about L.B.
