“First things first, little one. I have to convince your big headed, stubborn uncle to let me go back home. I know he’s not going to like it, but that’s just too bad. By the time you come home, me and Mare will be at our house,” Asia said, knowing damn well her brother wasn’t going to let her back home until he found who he was looking for.

Knowledge and Patience sat in his truck at the airport waiting patiently for their mother. Juanita called at the last minute and said she was on her way to Miami. Their mother hated coming home. The first time she had been back since she packed up her kids and left was she came to see Knowledge after he was shot.
“She didn't say why she was coming?” asked Knowledge.
“Nope,” Patience shook her head.
“Shit must be serious for her to be coming here. You know how much she hates it here.”
“I agree, but all we can do is wait and see,” Patience said.
The siblings sat quietly for a while, consumed by their own thoughts. Patience looked down at her phone and noticed her mom’s plane had landed five minutes ago.
“I'm about to go in and see if I can find her,” she said before climbing out of her truck.
Knowledge sat back and picked up his phone. Right when he did, a message from Asia popped up. He clicked on it and smiled when he seen the picture of Wysdom smiling. The picture caption read ‘Hi Daddy’. It was crazy how much she was starting to look like him even though she was just a little over a month old.
To say that he was a proud father would be an understatement. He dialed Asia’s number to see what she was up to. Since Chelsea and Serenity had just left for North Carolina, he wanted to spend as much time with his other two favorite ladies as he could.
“Hey,” Asia said into the phone.
“What's up, sexy? What you doing?” he asked.
It had been a while since he and Asia had been on good terms. She was still mad at him but the early arrival of their daughter kind of pushed them closer together.
“Just left from seeing our mini-us. What you doing?” asked Asia.
“I'm trynna be doing you. What you say?” he asked seriously.
Asia chuckled. “Don't start, Omari. I have told you too many times before, we’re not going back down that road.”
“Why not?”
“Can we please not go through this today?” Asia sighed.
Not wanting to mess things up between them, he let it go…for now.
“Alright, alright, I was just calling to see what was up with you. How my baby doing?” he asked, referring to Wysdom.
“She's good. You haven't been to see her this week?” Asia asked.
“Yesterday, but I didn't go today. My mom flew in today so I'm sure she’ll want to go see her,” he said just as he noticed his mom and sister walking towards the car.
“Aww, she did? Well tell her I said hi for me.”
“I will, but Imma call you later,” he said.
He hung up from Asia and jumped out of the truck to greet his mom. “Hey, sexy lady. What you doing down here?” He smiled as he hugged her.
“I just came to check on my babies.” Juanita smiled.
“Mhm, you are not slick. I know it's more to it, but I'll let it slide.”
“Good. Now where are my grand babies?” Juanita asked as he put her bags in the trunk.
“Well, Serenity and Chelsea just left for North Carolina and Wysdom is still at the hospital,” he answered.
Juanita shook her head somberly. “Poor baby. I know exactly what you and Asia are going through. Patience was a preemie herself.”
“Yea, it took a while for Asia to come around. I don't know if it was baby blues, guilt or both. I had to force her out of bed and drag her to the hospital to see her.”
“Ma, you have to see her. She looks just like Knowledge,” Patience gushed.
“Tell me, Omari. What’s her last name?” his mother asked skeptically.
“Rodriguez. She has my last name.”
“Good. I don't see why you let Chelsea get away with giving Serenity her last name.”
“Because he was feeling guilty for creeping with Asia,” Patience answered.
“Shut up.” He mushed his sister.
“I've always told you something isn't right about that girl. I've been saying it for years. I guess you're too blinded by the ‘p’ to even realize it.” Juanita shook her head.
“Yea, you say it all the time but you never tell me why you think that.”
“It's a women's intuition thing.” Juanita waved him off.
“Well,” Patience spoke up, “if you ask me, I say you should give her the boot and get with Asia. Chelsea has never been the one for you. She's too clingy, amongst other things. Since you two have been together, she has never worked a day in her life because she feels like you are supposed to take care of her.”
All Knowledge could do was shake his head. He knew for years that his mother and sister didn't approve of his relationship with Chelsea. His mother never pressed the issue because she said he was grown and was going to do what he wanted to do anyways. His sister, on the other hand, let it be known that she didn't care for Chelsea every chance she got.

Linx, Cordae and C sat around a raggedy table strategizing. They were getting closer and closer to putting their plan in motion. Cordae knew that his plan would bring Symir to his knees and he would have no choice but to bow down to him.
“What about his bitch?” asked C.
“Nah, that bitch is mines. She owes me,” Linx spoke.
“All I know is Symir ain't shit without his sister, so we will get at her then use her as a pawn,” Cordae said.
He had been around Symir for years so he knew how Symir would react if something happened to her. In the game, once niggas knew what your weakness was, they would use it for their advantage when the time was right. Symir wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to Asia and everyone knew it.
Since she moved in with them, he felt like he had to go above and beyond to protect her. Since their dad was killed, he felt like he had to be the replacement. Whatever Asia wanted or he felt like she wanted it, he would get it for her. Who the hell buys someone a Maybach for their birthday?
“So,” C said, snatching Cordae from his thoughts. “Why do you want to hurt Asia so bad? You could easily just go after Symir but your problem seems to be with Asia more than him.”
“She killed my father,” Cordae answered.
Even though Asia did in fact kill his father, that had nothing to do with why he wanted to hurt her so bad. Truth be told, he couldn’t really tell anyone why he wanted to hurt her. In all actuality, Cordae wanted to hurt Asia because she had hurt him. She rejected him time after time and then when Knowledge popped up on the scene, she acted like he didn’t even know him.
He had been trying to get with Asia for years. Despite all the arguing and bickering back and forth they did, he knew deep down inside she had love for him. He was hurt when she chose his brother over him. He had told Knowledge from jump how he felt about Asia, but he blew him off and went after her anyways. Bitch nigga, he thought.
That’s why he shot him up the way he did. He never would have thought the bitch was going to live. He knew he had to come harder the next time and make sure he didn’t make it out alive. He just wanted to reclaim his father’s throne which was rightfully his before Syrus came around.
“I don’t believe that,” C said.
“I don’t either. This nigga is obsessed with her ass but she don’t want him,” Linx said.
“I kind of figured that much,” C laughed.
“Shut up!” Cordae snapped. “Both of you just shut the fuck up. I want that bitch because she made my dad maggot food. Nothing more. I don’t give a damn about her not wanting me simply because I didn’t want her stuck up ass,” Cordae lied.
“Whatever, man. Save that shit for somebody who really gives a damn. All I know is I’m tired of sitting in thi
s damn house with no action. You say you got a plan, so put that shit in motion,” Linx huffed.
“We’ll move when I say move. Until then, sit on your ass like you been doing,” Cordae said before getting up and walking out.

Knowledge was standing outside the house he’d had his realtor find him before he had gotten shot. When he was partially paralyzed, he told him to put the search on hold. Now that he was up and walking, the search had continued. He was waiting for Patience and his mother to get there so he could get their opinions.
“It has four bedrooms, as you see, so both of your daughters will be able to have their own rooms,” Todd Berkley, his realtor, said.
“Thanks, man. I really like it, but you know I need some female input on it,” Knowledge said as he noticed his sister’s truck pull up.
“Why you always wanna be out in the boondocks? You must not want any visitors,” Patience joked.
“Leave my baby alone, Patience,” Juanita took up for her youngest child.
“Thank you, mama,” Knowledge said as he stuck his tongue out at his sister.
Knowledge and Todd showed the two ladies around the house. Juanita nodded her head in approval as did Patience. Patience enjoyed having her little brother around and didn’t want him to leave just yet, but she understood that he was grown and needed to do his own thing. She just wanted him to put the bullshit aside and focus on being a great father to his two daughters.
“So what do you think, ladies?” he asked.
“I like it,” Juanita said.
“Me too. This is you all the way,” Patience agreed.
Knowledge was about to speak up, but his ringing cell phone halted him.
“What’s up, Chels?” he answered.
“I know it’s short notice, but can you please come pick me up from the airport?” she said.
“Airport? I thought you weren’t coming home for another four days?”
“It’s a long story,” she said.
“It’s cool, I’m on my way,” he said before hanging up. “Todd, draw up the papers I need to sign. I’ll take it. Ma and Patience, I have to pick my baby and her mama up from the airport so I’ll see you two later.”
Chelsea and Serenity were waiting outside when he pulled up. He jumped out of his truck and grabbed their bags. Before snapping Serenity in her car seat, he hugged her and placed kisses all over her face.
“Daddy missed you.” He smiled.
“Me too!” she smiled brightly.
“How about we go to the mall and pick my favorite girl up some things?” he said.
“Yayyyy!” Serenity clapped.
He looked over at Chelsea and could tell that something was bothering her. He wasn’t going to pressure her into telling him right now, but eventually she would have to tell him what was wrong.

Asia and Symare were sitting outside Symir’s house in the front yard when Khyree pulled up. It had been a whole month sine Khyree had seen Asia or his son due to him being out of town taking care of his sick mother.
“Dad!” Symare yelled as he ran over to his dad’s car.
“Wassup, big man?” Khyree smiled as the two started air boxing.
Asia just sat there shaking her head at the two of them. She loved the relationship they shared. When Khyree was first sentenced to prison, Asia was hurt because she thought Symare would never know his dad or have the relationship with him that she wanted them to have. But everything worked out in their favor in the end.
“What’s up, baby mama? How you doing?” Khyree slapped her thigh playfully.
“Just chilling. How you doing, baby daddy?” Asia smiled.
“Shit, I’m good.”
“Dad, I have a sister now!” Symir said excitedly.
“I know. You know you gotta protect her and be the best big brother in the world, right?” Khyree asked.
“Of course!” Symare smiled proudly.
“That’s what I’m talking about. But how about you and your mom come take a ride with me real quick?”
“Uh...” Asia started, but Khyree cut her off.
“Shut up and come on,” Khyree said while pulling her up and walking her over to his car.
When they pulled up to the mall, Asia looked over at him funny. Khyree noticed that look and laughed.
“What?” he asked.
“The mall? I thought you were about to take us somewhere special.” Asia playfully rolled her eyes.
“Okay, remember that when we get in here. Mare, let’s go in here and rack up some shit while your mom watches and gets nothing,” Khyree said as he let his son out of the truck.
“Play if you want to,” she threatened him.
While walking throughout the whole mall, Khyree and Asia were acting like some little kids. Asia loved having him around because he was so silly and always made her laugh. They had bought stuff for each other, Symare, and even Wysdom.
Symare was inside Foot Locker telling the sales associate what he wanted while Asia and Khyree were standing outside of the store being silly.
“Stop, Khy,” Asia giggled while he held her waist and blew on her neck. “You play too much.”
Asia hear a little voice squeal her name and turned around to find Serenity running her way. She bent down and scooped her in her arms while looking around to see who she was with.
“Hey, little mama. What you doing here?” she asked her.
Khyree threw his arm around Asia while smiling at Serenity. Just then, Symare walked out of the store and Chelsea and Knowledge walked towards them.
“Serenity, don’t run off like that!” Chelsea said nervously.
Knowledge and Khyree eyed each other. It was no secret that there was still some bad blood between the two. Asia put Serenity down and looked Chelsea from head to toe. It was taking everything in her not to punch the shit out of Chelsea from that shit she pulled at the hospital.
“What’s up, Mare?” Knowledge spoke to Symare while giving him dap.
“Daddy, I know what shoes I want,” Symare told his father.
“Alright, son. Let’s go get them then,” Khyree said as they headed into the Foot Locker.
“Mommy, you coming?” Symare asked.
Asia was standing there looking at Knowledge with a look his couldn’t decipher.
“I’m right behind you, baby,” she said before following Khyree and Symare into the store.
Asia just shook her head at the whole ordeal. That was a reality check for her to remind her that Knowledge wasn’t hers. Never was and never will be, she thought to herself sadly.

Symir sat in his office in deep thought. It had been a month and a half and there was still no word on Cordae’s or Linx’s whereabouts. His connects down at the police station said it seemed like the two had fallen off of the face of the earth. The shit was pissing him off more than he needed it to. He had never been the type to lose his cool unless it was necessary, but this situation right here had him ready to go on a damn killing spree.
The streets talked so he figured if anyone knew either man’s whereabouts, they would have come to him and told him. Especially since he put a reward out for it. All you had to do was mention money and niggas started singing like birds.
“Knock, knock,” Asia said as she walked into her office.
“What’s up?” he asked.
“I wanna go home. I think I overstayed my welcome,” she said, getting right to the point.
“No,” he said simply.
“But Mir,” she whined.
“No buts,” he said sternly.
Asia just folded her arms over her chest. She knew that was going to be his answer, but she thought it would be worth it to ask anyways. She got up to get ready to go meet with Knowledge. He claimed he had something he needed to speak with her about but she knew it was bullshit. She was just going to see what he felt like he had to say.
She pulled up to the address he had sent her and noticed another ca
r besides his in the driveway. Not thinking twice about it, she went to the door and rang the bell. She waited patiently for him to answer.
“Bout time, slow ass.” He smiled.
“Whatever, I had to talk to my brother about something.” She rolled her eyes.
“Well, welcome to my new house.”
Asia looked around and nodded her head in approval.
“This is nice,” she said.
He walked her to the den and she stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed Chelsea sitting in there. She looked at him with a look he had never seen before. She rolled her eyes and walked back in the direction she had just come from. Knowledge just sighed and followed behind her.
“Be still!” he said sternly.
Asia stopped dead in her tracks but didn’t turn to look at him. She knew he had to have fell and bumped his head to have her and his bitch in the same room. He walked over to her and turned her around.
“Just hear what I have to say, please?” he asked.
Asia sighed. “You couldn’t have done this on three-way?” she asked.
He couldn’t help but to chuckle at her. He knew this wasn’t going to be easy. He had no doubts that Asia was going to be stubborn and give him a hard time with this. He grabbed her hand and led her back to the den.
“Shut up and come on.”
When they got back to the den, Asia didn’t even look in Chelsea’s direction. She sat in a chair on the other end of the room. Knowledge stood up in the middle of the room and sighed.
“Chelsea, you know we have been through some stuff together. You have always had my back no matter what. I know it wasn’t easy just picking up everything and leaving to follow me here, but you did it. No matter how it may seem, I will forever be grateful for you. I’m a man and I can admit when I’m wrong. I want to take this time and apologize to you. I never wanted to be the nigga to hurt you. I fucked up and I know it. I love you and my daughter,” he said.
Asia rolled her eyes and yawned. I know his ass didn’t call me over here just so he can apologize to her ass.
