  Acknowledgements

To my husband, Brad. This book is dedicated to you because you believed in me and made it possible for me to write, write, write. Thank you for patiently listening to me talk about the story, the characters, and my dreams — nonstop.

To my sister, Lynn. Thank you for your love, support, and unending enthusiasm on this journey. Your feedback was crucial and your proofreading kicked butt!

To my parents, who instilled a love of reading in me from an early age. I fell in love with the written word so completely that I had to make up a story of my own.

To my copy editor, Casey Cline, not only for the job well done, but also for your great suggestions and excitement about the project.

A tremendous thank you to my “beta-readers,” who read my story in its roughest form, provided insightful feedback, and helped me believe that my little story was the story that could…
