A Farang Strikes Back Page 17

Suddenly John stopped in his tracks. “I have a surprise for you,” he said. “My girlfriend is waiting for us in the restaurant.”

I can't say I wasn’t eager to meet the love of my son’s life. We stepped into the restaurant. John stretched his arm out and pointed in a specific direction. At one of the tables near the back was a girl with long hair, sitting with her back to us.

“You’re going to like her,” John assured me.

The girl had dressed to kill. She wore a blue jeans mini-skirt which showed her fantastic legs, a very colourful top with several sketches of flowers or animals on it.

We had almost reached the table and my excitement was building.

John started to introduce his big love. “Daddy,” he started solemnly. “May I introduce…?”

While my son was speaking I noticed a tattoo on his girlfriend’s shoulder–a scorpion. At this moment the girl turned around and smiling at me.

  It was Som.
