“Please just help my friend. I shot him. It was an accident. I won’t resist arrest, just please help him.”

Brandon looked like a lost little boy and her cavalry looked taken aback. If they thought they were capturing the Jackal or James Bond, they were mistaken. Brandon was a mixed-up young man who was going to pay dearly for a myriad of bad decisions in his life. His best friend might pay the ultimate price.

Ryan and Jason pulled his hands behind his back, cuffing his wrists and reciting his rights. Meyer and Logan lifted her to her feet. Logan scowled at the duct tape on her wrists.

“Anybody have a knife to cut this?”

Magically, Ryker pulled one from his boot and in seconds she was free. She held up her wrists, examining the red, raw skin. They would need to be cleaned and bandaged. Sirens heralded the arrival of the paramedics and they watched as the EMT’s stabilized Paul before loading him into the back of the ambulance. Jason was leading Brandon into the back of a police SUV. Ryan turned and headed back for Sadie, taking in her damaged wrists.

“I’ve called Dr. Mark. Head straight to his office so he can check you over. We brought the ambulance for you, but it appears it might save that young man’s life. I’ll meet you at Mark’s in a little while to get your statement.” Ryan’s voice had a no-nonsense tone.

Sadie opened her mouth to say she was fine but Meyer beat her to it. “We’ll head there now.” He pressed a finger to her lips. “No arguments. I want you checked head to toe.”

“They didn’t hurt me. I was trying to cut the tape with the tree bark. That’s how they got scraped up.”

Logan ran his hand behind his neck and shook his head. “I don’t care if they wrapped you in cotton wool and fed you cookies. You’re going to let Dr. Mark check you over.” His voice was filled with exasperation and she didn’t dare argue with him. Both men seemed to practically vibrate with tension. Her adrenaline was still running high but she knew she was due for a crash. That’s when reality would sink in and she would be able to comprehend just how close to dying she was today.

“Where are your cars?” she asked, looking around. They’d arrived without a sound.

“Just past there.” Meyer pointed toward the road. “You didn’t hear us? We were trying to be quiet but it felt like every step we took would give us away.”

“We were sort of busy at the time.” Sadie rolled her eyes. “Things got a little out of hand.”

“I want to hear all about this.” Logan gently took her arm and they headed out of the cluster of trees, followed by the others. “Every detail. Don’t leave anything out.”

“It all started when I saw Brandon in the bank.”

Meyer nodded. “That’s the guy with the gun, right? He’s the grandson of the couple who owned the house where the servers were kept. They must be close to Jean-Luc. Maybe family.”

It wasn’t often she got to deliver news this big. “Brandon and Paul are Jean-Luc.”

The entire group of men stopped dead in their tracks. “No,” Meyer denied. “They couldn’t be. They’re practically college kids. Genius college kids, but still kids.”

She linked her arm in his so she was between both her men. It was a wonderful place to be when she’d thought not long ago she’d never see them again.

“I have so much to tell you. Where do I start?”

  Chapter Thirteen

“Paul’s going to be okay?” Sadie asked. For someone who had been abducted earlier today she seemed rather worried about her captors. Her wrists were clean and bandaged and the three of them were sitting around the kitchen table eating pizza from Charlie’s.

Meyer’s heart still clutched at the thought of how close they’d come to losing Sadie. She’d told them her story and he’d broken out in a cold sweat when she’d reached the part where Brandon stood in front of her and pointed a gun at her head. She might feel a little sorry for him since he was a kid, but he’d pulled the trigger. As far as Meyer was concerned, Brandon could think about his crimes for the next thirty years or so in a federal penitentiary.

Logan nodded. “Ryan talked to Dr. Steve who did the surgery. It looks like he’s going to make it. He was lucky. A few minutes more and he probably would have bled out.”

Sadie snagged another slice from the pizza box. Meyer was happy to see her with a healthy appetite. She’d missed lunch with Sami and Lacey, but he’d been afraid she might not eat due to emotional trauma.

She was already on her third slice, so he needn’t have worried.

“So explain to me how they did it?” Sadie asked between bites.

Logan laughed. “It’s actually a mix of low-tech and high tech. I’ll explain the low-tech part. Brandon and Paul would dress as fire inspectors and visit their target banks. Their job was to convince the manager they could be trusted. They’d point out stray boxes in the hall as hazards, check the location of sprinklers. Stuff like that. It looked convincing. Brandon would talk to the manager and Paul would keep wandering off. The first few times, the manager would go after Paul. After awhile, they’d built trust, and the manager would let Paul do whatever he wanted. He had access to areas most people never get to. All the while, Brandon kept the manager distracted.”

Meyer took over. “Paul would pretend to be checking under desks and such. What he was really doing was planting dongles on the computers so they could gather data. He’d also slip keystroke recorders under the keyboards. When Paul was done, Brandon would pretend they’d run out of time but hadn’t quite finished. They’d promise to return in a few days but only stay a few minutes.”

“They’d go back?” Sadie asked, eyebrows raised.

Meyer nodded. “They had to go back. They’d retrieve the dongles and the keystroke recorders. Now they’d have client data galore. Account numbers, social security numbers, names, addresses, you name it.” Meyer chuckled. “It was genius. They used the natural instinct to trust to gain access. Plus technology, of course.”

“You seem in a pretty good mood about it. You were cursing a few days ago.” Sadie sipped her wine.

Meyer shrugged. “It’s easy to be in a good mood now. Although I’d be much happier if I didn’t feel like such an idiot. We were taken in by a couple of kids.”

Sadie shook her head. “They were young, but not really kids. First of all, they were geniuses. Second, they wanted to be a super villain or something like that. You couldn’t have foreseen something like this. Besides, you did crack the case. You found the servers and that’s when the cascade of evidence started.”

Logan refilled their glasses. “You helped. I think we’ll keep you around, babe. Maybe make you a partner.”

Sadie rolled her eyes. “Helped? I almost got real dead today. I think I’ll stay in the office and mind my own business. It sounds way safer.”

Meyer couldn’t agree more. He placed his hand over hers. “Sounds like a good plan. I don’t want anything to happen to you. I love you, Sadie.”

Her brown eyes sparkled. “I love you, too.” She turned to Logan. “And you, too. I only have one question.”

  “And that is?” Logan asked.

“What’s a girl got to do to see some hot guy–on-guy action around here? You’ve never done that in front of me.”

Meyer laughed. “We weren’t sure how you would react.”

“I’d react like a woman turned on. What do you say?”

He and Logan exchanged a glance. This was what they loved about Sadie. She embraced life. “If you’re done with dinner, we say let’s go into the bedroom.”

They scrambled over each down the hall. Sadie hopped up on the bed and crooked her finger at them.

  “Get naked and come here.”

It sounded like a good plan.

  * * * *

Sadie tugged off her clothes and tossed them aside. Her men had shed their clothes just as quickly, revealing wide shoulder, ridged abs, and long, hard cocks. She licked her lips and beckoned them toward her, wrapping a hand around each one. She could feel
the blood pulse under her palm and the steel underneath the velvet skin.

She pumped her hands a few times and smiled at their groans. She felt sexy and powerful, and very desired. They were looking at her as if she was a goddess and she reveled in their regard. She could feel the love they had for her. It filled all the spaces inside her that had been empty and neglected for so long.

She leaned down and ran her tongue up and down Meyer’s cock, and then did the same for Logan. Their breath came out in a hiss and she repeated her action until their fingers tangled in her hair, pulling her off.

“No, babe.” Logan stepped back. “Not this way.”

She stuck out her lower lip. “I want to see the two of you together.”

Logan pulled Meyer into his arms. “And you will. But you’ll be with us as well. We won’t leave you out.”

Logan kissed Meyer, their tongues tangling and their cocks trapped between their bodies. Smears of pre-cum decorated the flesh of their bellies and her tongue itched to taste the salty flavor. Meyer reached around and squeezed Logan’s ass cheek while he bit at Meyer’s earlobe.

Logan caressed Meyer’s cock, his fingers traveling up his chest to pluck at his flat nipples.

“I’ll fuck you. You’ll fuck our girl. But first, I want her to scream.”

Before she knew it, she was being pressed flat on the bed, her legs pulled apart. Two tongues were vying for position in her pussy, sending spirals of arousal through her lower abdomen. She thrashed her head back and forth as a tongue curled around her clit, rubbing and teasing until the tight coil inside her exploded. Heat and pleasure rushed through her body and lights danced behind her eyes.

When she finally lifted her lids, her body coming back to reality, Logan and Meyer were wearing condoms. Logan was trickling lube down Meyer’s ass crack.

“You want to see us together, beautiful? I’m going to fuck Meyer hard back here while he nails you. All of us at the same time, but a little different than last time.”

Different, but no less arousing. She watched in fascination as Logan pressed his fingers into Meyer’s back hole stretching and preparing him for Logan’s cock. Meyer’s eyes were closed and his breathing was growing shallow with every stroke. Logan tossed the lube onto the dresser.

“Get inside our woman. Then I’ll get inside you.”

Sadie scrambled into position. Meyer hovered over her with a grin. “Logan gets bossy when he tops, so I return the favor when I do.”

She could imagine the struggle for dominance between these two was a constant battle. Luckily, she was happy for the two of them to take control most of the time. She didn’t need to be in charge of every little thing.

Meyer’s cock nudged at her pussy and she spread her legs further apart. She grabbed his hips and urged him forward. She needed him inside of her, the ache almost unbearable. He took the hint and thrust hard, impaling her with one quick stroke. She cried out at the intense sensation of being completely filled with one of the men she loved more than life.

Her fingers dug into his shoulders as he stilled. Meyer was holding up his weight on his palms, and Logan was kneeling behind Meyer, careful not to lean in with his whole weight. She was grateful as she could easily be crushed underneath two grown men.

Logan wrapped an arm around Meyer’s waist. She watched, mesmerized by the intense expressions on her men’s faces. She caught her breath, knowing exactly when Logan penetrated Meyer, as his cock had seemed to swell even larger inside her.

She was panting as Meyer started to move, pulling out almost all the way before thrusting in hard. His groin rubbed her clit and she was already building toward another climax. Their rhythm built momentum quickly. Each time Meyer pulled out of her, Logan pushed inside of Meyer. Their ragged breathes mingled and the air became perfumed with the smell of sex and sweat.

Logan’s jaw was tight. “Fuck, I can’t hold back any longer.” He thrust inside Meyer one last time and bit down on Meyer’s shoulder.

Meyer froze and threw his head back with a groan. His cock was deep inside of her cunt, buried to the hilt. He reached between them and rubbed her clit until she screamed their names, her climax hitting her sideways. Her legs trembled and her entire body quivered as wave after wave ran through her like water. Meyer bit off an expletive and she could feel his cock jerking inside of her, filling the condom with his hot seed.

Logan was the first to move, pulling from Meyer and heading to the bathroom. Meyer played with her hair, teasing her about her curls and kissing her chin and nose until Logan returned. Meyer levered off the bed while Logan curled up next to her, his expression guarded.

“Are you okay? Was it what you thought?”

He was honestly afraid watching them would turn her off. She shook her head.

“It was better. It was amazingly hot watching you do Meyer. Next time I want to watch Meyer do you.”

The bed dipped as Meyer settled on her other side. “I’m all for that. So we didn’t send you running for the hills?”

She cupped their jaws and let their masculine scent envelop her, soothing her senses. This is what she had been born for. To love and be loved by these men.

“Hardly. It was hot. Very hot. I can’t wait for you to do it again.”

Meyer reached for Logan, giving her a hot kiss on the way. “Babe, you don’t have to wait. We’re happy to oblige right now.”

That’s what they did until the early morning hours. They kissed, touched, caressed, and did generally sexy, raunchy things to one another. Sadie couldn’t wait for a lifetime of this and more with her men.

Her men. She really liked the way it sounded.

  * * * *

Sadie stared at the ten-foot Christmas tree in the living room. It was gorgeous, decorated in green, gold, and red. Meyer had placed an angel at the top and teasingly said it reminded him of her with its gold curls. She’d snorted and laughed about her own lack of a halo.

She remembered all the Christmas trees she’d grown up with. They’d all been perfect but somehow lacking in warmth. The entire house she’d grown up in had always seemed cold no matter how many fires were lit. Even the occasional party, which had filled the house to the brim with people, hadn’t been able to drive away the chill that hung in the air.

She walked to the bedroom and dug through her drawer until her hands found the old picture frame. The metal was as cold as the home she’d grown up in. The photo of a happy family belied the pain and loneliness. She stared at it a long time before coming to a decision.

She headed back down the hall and to the home office, digging into her desk drawer for the folder Meyer had given her just a few weeks ago. It was time to look through it. She sat down at the desk and opened it up, her vision blurring with tears as she read about the parents she’d left behind almost ten years ago.

When she was done, she closed up the folder and carried it into the kitchen where Meyer and Logan were finishing breakfast. Meyer looked up from the morning paper with a smile.

“Hey, babe. What do you want to do on this fine Saturday morning? We could go into Orlando and do some Christmas shopping.”

“You still haven’t told us what you want from Santa,” Logan reminded her.

It was a silly question. She had everything she could ever want with them. She was happier and more content than she ever imagined being.

“Shopping sounds good. How about Tampa instead?” She held up the folder. Logan frowned in confusion, but Meyer understood at once.

He nodded. “If this is what you want, beautiful.”

“I do. It’s time. Long past it, actually.”

Logan looked back and forth between them. “Is anyone going to tell me what’s going on or are you going to make me guess?”

Sadie took a deep breath. “We’re going to see my parents.”

Saying it out loud made it real. Her heart was pounding and her palms were sweaty but she wasn’t going to turn back now. If she was going to have a future with Meyer and Logan, sh
e needed to put her past truly to rest.

If Logan was surprised, he didn’t betray it. He simply nodded and began pouring some coffee in his to-go cup. “Then we better get on the road.”

The drive didn’t take nearly long enough. She was practically shaking with nerves as Logan pulled into the long, sweeping driveway of her parents’ new home. It was smaller than the one she’d grown up in. But then there’d been four of them. It was just her parents now.

Meyer opened her car door and helped her out, her legs shaky underneath her. He kept his arm around her and she was grateful for the support.

“What if they won’t talk to me?”

Logan brushed back a stray hair from her face. “That’s an answer in itself, don’t you think? You’ll know you tried to talk to them and get some answers.”

“I’m not sure what answers I really want. I’m not sure what I’m going to say.”

Meyer pressed his lips to her temple, his body strong and reassuring. “You’ll figure out what to say when the time comes. Don’t censure yourself. Say whatever comes to mind. If you want to be angry, you have a right to be.”

She did, but she found she wasn’t all that angry as she walked up and rang the doorbell. It was her parents who had lost out. They might be looking forward to walking their daughter down the aisle and hoping for grandchildren. Instead, they would spend their last remaining years alone.

The door swung open and her father stood in the doorway. He looked older, much older than she remembered. He appeared to have aged twenty years instead of a decade. His hair was almost completely white and lines were etched around his mouth and eyes.

“Sarah? Is that you?” Her father reached out a hand to touch her, but then he quickly pulled it away.

“No one calls me Sarah except you.” She’d found her voice.

Her father’s face was sad. “Never liked your nickname much. You were always Sarah to me.” He stepped back. “Would you like to come in?”
