FINLEY: Decoy spin off series (Decoy Dynasty Book 1) Page 9

by KT Fisher

“That was perfect.” Beams Ralph, “now it’s time for the break up scene and then Finley you’re up.”

I eagerly watch Liam and Riley as she pretends to break up with him, tears drip down her face and even though I know she’s faking, I actually feel for her. Man she’s good

When Ralph shouts that the rest of the filming will be me and Riley, I clap my hands and feel a rush of excitement. If this is what it takes for me to taste Riley’s sweet lips on mine again, then this is what I will do. Call me pathetic, I don’t give a shit. I stick my tongue out at Riley, who is carefully watching me. She rolls her eyes at me, but I can see she’s happy even though she’s complained at every mention of the kiss. I can see through her little lies and it only makes me want to try harder but every time I think back to my time in New York I regret staying and going to the party. I shouldn’t have let Sky get under my skin and come back with me and I definitely should not have let her suck my cock. That was a massive regret and I feel like shit every time Riley smiles at me but now it’s time for me and Riley to film our part of the music video.

  “You ready?” I tease her.

“You’re loving this, aren’t you?” She giggles, and that niggling regret hits me again but I push it away.

“Ok guys!” Ralph shouts. “Riley, you show up at Finley’s apartment, he’s shocked to see you at the door and Riley, you mime the lyric, ‘I made a mistake and I think you know why.’ Finley, you grab her close and run your hands through her hair. As you both sing, I want you to touch each other. You love each other! I need to see it!”

“Wow.” Riley whispers and I laugh along with her.

I can still hear her laughing when we both take our positions and our song begins. I get into my character, but in reality, it’s not much different to how I feel about her in real life. I don’t know if I would go so strong to say I love Riley, I’ve only known her for little more than a month, but I do feel fucking strong feelings for the girl.

When I open the door for her, I look her over as she sings and I take over. Singing my own lyrics, I wrap my arm around her waist and I hear her gasp. My hand touches her cheek, her blue eyes looking into mine as my hand reaches into her hair. We sing to each other and I hold her close, wanting to kiss those plump lips of hers. I know I’m being selfish, I fucking feel that, but I want Riley and it frustrates me that she won’t give in. I do enjoy the chase though, I just don’t want wait forever for her. I want her now.

The kiss is coming, and my cock throbs for Riley. I wish it was just me and her, and none of these others were around watching. I’m not following Ralph’s directions when I thrust against Riley and she sighs softly. I place both of my hands on her neck, bringing my face lower as I sing the last line and just as I’m about to kiss her, Riley takes matters into her own hands. She bites down on her bottom lip, rubbing mine with her thumb. My dick is painfully hard, straining against my jeans as I lean closer and kiss her with everything I have. She grips on as I pick her up with hardly any effort, Riley wraps her legs around me and I pin her up against the wall where our kiss continues.

“Cut!” Ralph shouts and Riley goes to pull away but I don’t want the kiss to end. I lean in closer, dipping my tongue into her mouth and her groan makes me thrust against her and I know Riley feels me.

Ralph shouts again, and this time Riley slides my body, looking up at me as everyone claps and laughs. She saunters off, giving me one last look before Ralph shakes her hand and congratulates her on a job well done.

Before going home, I drop by my parents for dinner, just like my mother had asked. She knew I was filming the music video today and wanted me to have a decent meal.

“How was it?” My dad asks as we begin to eat. All of my family is here, and they listen to our conversation.

“I heard you had to kiss.” Grace adds, a smirk creeping on her face.

My dad smiles. “I bet that was hard for you son.”

“Something was hard, I bet.” Snickers Noah and my mum glares over at him as everyone laughs, except Haiden. She has no idea what Noah said or the meaning, thank god.

My dad and brothers all laugh and Grace shakes her head. They don’t realise how true Noah is.

“She’s hot bro.” Rory adds next to me, a little quieter than Noah had been.

“Yeah.” I nod, and Rory opens his mouth to say something, but I shut him down. “Don’t even think about asking me.”

Rory raises his eyebrows, understanding me completely and continues to eat his dinner.

  Chapter Ten

Three days after filming, I am travelling to my manager to see the music video for ‘You Have To Be Mine’ for the first time and I can’t wait. Finley did want us all to watch it together at his dad’s record label, but my manager would not allow that. He’s been dangling the video since last night, so I’m impatient to watch. When I show up, my manger smiles to me, opening his arms but I dodge them.

“Hello Marcus.” I grin at him, even though I can’t stand him. Marcus has helped me reach this point in my career, but I don’t like him at all. His eyes are too friendly for my liking.

“Riley.” He laughs. “How are you?”

“Eager to see the video.” I add, deciding to sit down to get away from him.

“Yes,” he nods. “It’s a good video, you look great in it.”

I cringe. I hate when he gives me compliments. They feel dirty.

“So you’ve seen it?” I ask, pissed that’s he has watched it before me.

“Yes, I didn’t think you would mind.”

I grit my teeth, not wanting to snap at him. “Can I see?”

“How are you getting on with the band?” He asks, ignoring me.

“Great.” I answer. “They wanted to watch the video with me.”

“But you’re more loyal to me.” Marcus smiles. “I do love that.”

I hold back the vomit. “Marcus.” I plead. “Please, put the video on.”

Marcus sighs and I clench my fists. Why is it so hard to understand that I want to watch my music video?

As soon as it starts I’m on the edge of my seat, loving every single second of it and I have to admit that it was a great idea to have me and Finley as the couple. The video wouldn’t have had the same effect if it wasn’t because the end result is fucking hot. I watch the end scene, covered in goose bumps as I watch myself on screen, arriving at Finley’s home. Obviously it’s not his real home, we’re n character. I remember how I felt and my body responds. I was so scared after and I couldn’t leave quick enough. Finley’s kisses electrified me and it shows through the video.

“That’s one hot video Riley.” Marcus snickers and it makes me feel sick.

“Yeah.” I stand. “Thanks, but I need to go now.”

I need to get out of here and go home, I want to tell Cassie how fucking amazing this video is and I need to get away from my manager. As I stand from my seat, Marcus quickly adds, “you’re doing well for yourself with Lunacy Riley, don’t fuck it up.”

I grit my teeth and storm out of the place, speeding towards my car. As soon as I walk through the front door of mine and Cassie’s shared apartment, Cassie pokes her head out of her bedroom. “You’re back!”

  “And I need a shower.” I grumble.

Cassie looks at me sympathetically. “You need to get yourself a new manager.”

I sigh. “Marcus has always said he will blacklist me if I do.”

“But you’re a star now. He said that when you first started and didn’t know anything, nobody would believe him and you have Finley to help you now.” Cassie answers.

“How does Finley help me?” I place my jacket on the hooks by the door.

Cassie shakes her head. “His dad is Jax Parker, he owns the UK’s largest record label with his other band mates. I’m sure if Marcus did do anything, then Finley could ask his dad for a helping hand.”

“I’m not going to do that.” I shake my head and Cassie observes me.

  “Why do you push
Finley away all the time?” She asks.

  “I’m not interested.”

Cassie laughs. “Honey, a blind woman could see how sexy that man is.” And then Cassie’s smile fades. “You’re comparing him to TJ.”

“I’ve had enough of being used.” I snap, deciding to hide away in my room, but Cassie reaches out and stops me.

“Finley isn’t like that.” She assures me. “Anyway, tell me about the video. I want to talk about it tomorrow on the radio.”

Giving in, we sit on the sofa and I let her know all about how the music video turned out and Cassie looks as excited as I feel. She can’t wait to see it and I wish that I had my own copy.

My phone vibrates, and I see it’s Finley.

Finley: What do you think? The end is the best part x

Me: I thought you would say that. I love the video, I just wish I had a copy to show Cassie x

I don’t get another text back, and I predict that Finley has better things to do than text me back. Cassie and I prepare our dinner, homemade lasagne with garlic bread as we dance to music and laugh. We’re busy women, but when we can, we enjoy moments like this.

A knock on the door has us pausing, and we look to each other and glance at the door. “I’ll get it then.” Cassie goes to answer it as I check on the lasagne.

“Is Riley here?” I hear Finley’s voice and my back stiffens.

  “Oh my god.” I whisper.

  “Riley.” Cassie calls to me.

I turn around, and because of our open plan apartment, I have nowhere to hide and Finley spots me in the kitchen.

“Look at you.” He grins, as I turn down the volume of the music.

“We’re making dinner.” I answer, trying to ignore the huge grin on Cassie’s face.

“It smells as gorgeous as you look.” He winks and Cassie laughs. Finley turns to her, nodding with a smile bigger than hers.

“Do you want to stay for dinner Finley?” Asks Cassie, flashing me a victorious look.

“If that’s ok with Riley.” Finley looks back to me, and I have to nod. Finley beams, holding out a DVD case to me.

  “What’s this?” I ask him.

“It’s a copy of the music video, you can show Cassie now.” My heart literally skips a beat.

“Thanks.” I look to him with gratitude. Finley never stops surprising me.

“Yes!” Cassie cheers. “Would I be able to say I’ve seen it at work tomorrow?”

“Of course.” Finley nods. “It needs all the hype it can get.”

Cassie shakes her head. “You have got to be kidding me. This song is huge! You don’t need any promotion for this, everyone is going to jump on it.”

Cassie runs into the living area, prepping the TV to watch the DVD Finley brought over.

  “Thank you.” I offer him.

“You’ve already said that.” He laughs, stepping towards me.

“I know, but I mean it.”

Finley stops right in front of me, not touching me at all but I feel the magnetic pull in between us. “Don’t mention it beautiful.”

Finley gently taps his finger on my nose, making me laugh but Cassie doesn’t pay any attention as the music from the TV begins. We join her as Cassie watches, smiling from ear to ear the longer she watches and when it’s finished she looks at us with awe.

“That was fucking brilliant!” She claps, making me laugh. “And so hot.”

“I have a feeling a lot of people will be saying that.” I laugh.

The next day, small teasers have been made from the music video, just to tease our fans some more. Decoy’s very own record label helped make them, with the graphics and everything. Finley sent them to my email first thing this morning, just like his band manager did for him. I am beginning to see the advantage of having a decent managing team behind you, supporting you every way and the more I see how Lunacy are looked after, the more I see how shit Marcus is at what he does.

The teasers have the desired effect, and have the fans are really looking forward to getting to watch the whole thing. I can’t wait for them to see it either. I listened to Cassie on the radio too, hearing her raving about it and rubbing it in everyone’s faces that she watched it, with Finley and me. Lunacy are a big band, and I’m an up and coming artist so I did see our collaboration doing well, but I didn’t think it would be this big. I suppose the ‘maybe’ romance between Finley and me has created a hype around us.

I create a group chat with the guys, wanting to share my excitement.

Me: These teasers are working a treat!

I don’t have to wait long before one of them replies.

Liam: It’s not just the teasers, you two had the song famous before it was even released!

  Caden: True

Me: But the song is amazing

Caden: Obviously, but Finley knows how to create a storm.

My heart drops as I reread Caden’s words. Is this all it comes down to? Finley wanted to create a media storm around us for the songs sake?

Finley: I haven’t created anything, it’s all you Riley

  Me: How so?

I’m so nervous as I wait for him to reply.

Liam: If this conversation turns sexual, talk privately!

Caden: Yeah, what he says! I have to see enough of you two eye fucking, I don’t need to read it

  Me: We don’t eye fuck!

  Finley: Private messaging!

Liam and Caden text their victories while Finley sends me a private text.

Finley: Before you start to freak the fuck out, I haven’t been faking anything. I didn’t create stories between us, I’m being completely honest.

  Me: I wasn’t freaking out.

  I swallow down my denial.

Finley: Keep telling yourself that babe. Anyway, you’re coming with me to Grace’s fashion show in London at the weekend

I’ve heard about this night for the past week, and it does sound amazing, but it’s just going to provide the press with more romance stories. I would like to go though. Grace is a well-respected fashion blogger and model, and now she has created her own line of clothes.

Me: Are you telling or asking?

Finley: Does it really matter? You know you want to come

I don’t know if it’s my sex deprived mind, but I read the last sentence of his text as something else entirely, rather than what he had actually meant. I agree to go, to help support his sister, and I immediately become excited. I know I will need Cassie’s help on what to wear, because I have no clue. I will need to look killer, that is a definite and I trust my best friend on how I should look. However, I fear she will want to dress me for Finley’s benefit and not for the high fashion show. Then a thought strikes me, surely his family will be there and I will be going with Finley as a sort of, maybe date. A whole new type of nerves settles over me.

  Finley: Wear black

I then call Cassie, letting her know her mission and her time limit. To say she’s excited is an understatement.

  Chapter Eleven

As it turned out, Grace had reached out to me and offered me her help in my outfit for the night. Finley must have given her the heads up that I don’t really enjoy shopping, so I was grateful. When Grace had text me, I gave her Cassie’s number, and let them both take it from there and with Finley’s little sister’s help, Cassie went above and beyond. It’s black, just like Finley has asked. Well, he didn’t ask, he told me to wear black and as much as I didn’t want to, I like the fact that he told me what colour to wear. It’s like he wants us to match. Surely Finley will be all blacked out if he’s asked me to wear black.

I couldn’t believe it when Cassie opened our apartment door and it was turned into a mini fashion boutique. She had told me it was curtesy of Grace Parker, and the women got to work. They sorted which dresses they thought would suit me best. Someone did suggest a gorgeous all in one trouser suit, but I wanted to wear a dress and when a black velvet dress was held up to me, I fell in love hard. I was itching to touch it a
nd when I tried it on I couldn’t stop running my finger down it. We all agreed right there, that this was the dress for me and if I thought that was the end, I was wrong.

Now, I’m looking in the mirror. My fingers smooth down the silky soft velvet as Cassie admires me. It finishes just above my knees, is sleeveless and rests across my boobs, showing a tasteful amount of cleavage. The strap on the top of the dress leads from one side of the dress, crossing over my chest and looping around my neck as a built in choker. I finger it as it’s fixed around my neck, secretly obsessed with velvety feel. In the reflection of the mirror, I look down at my killer shoes. They have a chunky heel, exposing almost all my foot, with lace detailing across the wide strap. My make-up and hair are all done, we decided to fix my hair into a messy, but stylish ponytail to show off the black dangling earrings and Cassie thought a dark and dramatic look for my makeup would work best, and she was right as usual. My eyebrows are as dark as they can be with my hair being so light. My blue eyes have been decorated with black eyeliner and eye shadow to soften, and my lips are a deep cherry.

“You look like the perfect rockers girlfriend.” Cassie admires.

I roll my eyes. “Is that the look we were looking for?”

“A little.” She slyly grins. “But you got to admit girl, you’re looking hot!”

I look at myself, twirling slightly to see how my bottom looks and I have to admit, it’s looking great.

“Finley is going to fall flat on his face when he sees you.” Cassie beams, circling me as if I’m a prized pony.

A knock on the door has me squirming and Cassie clapping in glee. “Who is it?” She asks, quickly making her way to the door as I grab my little black handbag. It’s just about big enough for my phone, purse and essential makeup, according to Cassie.

“Riley’s sexy date.” Finley sings back from the other side of the door and I can’t help but laugh, however my laughter stops as Cassie opens the door. Holy mother fucking shit.
