The Legacy of the Ten: Book 03 - Darkhalla Page 59

by Scott D. Muller

The Master looked over to the remaining four. “Who is next?”

Solgar pushed Jade back and stepped forward.

When the ceremony completed, the Master called forth Quinn, who bowed before the Lord of the Underworld and awaited his touch.

The master could feel her hate. She will make a good mate, his price for the power she demanded. Her power would be greater than those of her five. She would have a harder time holding to her image of herself, a reminder of who—what—she had become. He could smell the delicious rot that was consuming her. Soon, she would be consumed with the power and the anger. He doubted the gods themselves could stop this one. She would be briosaid, an ancient name for sorceress he had used but once before, a long time ago. He knew better than to get personally involved in their battles, but it would be—how should he say it—amusing to watch.

He ran a hand down her neck to her breasts and felt himself stir with longing. He took her there on the marble floor, in front of her five dark wizards. She screamed as he forced himself into her, her body too small for the bulk of his frame. He pounded her relentlessly. The five newborn dark mages chanted and reveled in her torture.

At his moment of release, he reached deep into his chest and pulled free the darkest piece of his heart; a piece he reserved for those who would become part of his inner circle. It was sickly black and glowed with dark power. It sprouted tendrils and they wrapped themselves around his fist. He shoved it into her chest as she arched her back, being filled with both his seed and his evil power. He screamed her new name.

Quinn cried out, but no sound came forth. Her eyes opened and became dark as night as she wrapped her legs around him and pulled him deep into her womanhood, feeling his explosion. She moaned and laughed out loud, having become twisted. Was it pleasure? She hesitated to call it that. She felt…power filling her and the rune she had drawn on her abdomen burned.

She felt the memories she held of who she was and her journey fading away. She relaxed and rocked her hips to his rhythm. Her ears extended and the stubs of wings grew. Her fingers elongated and claws replaced her finely manicured nails. Yet, she retained her looks. She was both more and less, but cared not about what she had lost. She felt all powerful. She dug her claws into his buttocks, causing him to grunt and scream out in ecstasy.

Quinn, the scorned lover Aareon, forsaken of the Keep, cursed of the races, and denied by the dragons, ceased to be.

  Baol, the briosaid was born.
