Love Goes On Page 31

by Crystal Britton

  “What’s that?”

“That you find your soul mate.”

“I thought it would be that I pass school.”

“I already know you will.” He smiled. “I wanted you to find a guy that would do you right and take care of you. That would love your sister and your mother, but most importantly respect me. And by golly, Sara, you found him.”

I grinned from ear to ear as I turned around to see Kaden playing with Riley as he talked to my mom.

  “I did, didn’t I?”

“I will tell you now that I give you to him.”

I held back my tears. “Oh, Daddy! Please don’t say that now.”

“I know I won’t be there to tell you, but as I said before I’ll be right here,” He gestured as he pointed to my heart.

“I know, Daddy. This just sucks that you have to go to God. Why can’t he let you stay here?”

  “Maybe he needs me.”

I sighed as I took my dad’s hand and laid my head on his shoulder. “I love you Daddy.”

  “I love you too, Sara.”

No one bothered us up until the guest started to leave. After everyone left I shut the door as Kaden snuck up behind me and hugged me as he sweetly kissed my neck.

“None of that now,” I said.

He laughed. “You owe me for giving me a black and blue cheek,” Kaden replied.

I laughed. “Everyone kept asking you where it came from didn’t they?”

  “Yeah, they did.”

I turned around to face him. “I’m sorry.”

He took my hand and led me to the couch. “Are you doing alright?” He asked as we sat down.

“You mean from seeing my dad today?”

  “Yeah.”

“I’m hurting. But I’m trying to think of other things.”

  “I saw you crying.”

“I was crying because he told me that he’s glad I found my soul mate. This was the one thing he wanted for me.”

“Wouldn’t he want you to go through school?”

“He does, but he said he knows I’ll pass.”

  “Oh.”

“How was it playing with Riley?”

“She’s so smart I’ll tell you that. Your Mom and Dad must teach her at home.”

“They probably do. Why do you think I’m so smart?”

He laughed. “I’m not answering that. It’s a trick question for sure.”

  I giggled. “Worth a try.”

“See! I knew you were up to something.”

“You won’t always know when I’m up to something.” I took him by his neck tie leading him into the bedroom only to tease him which turned out to be very fun!

Kaden had errands to run so I decided to catch up on some reading, but my mind kept wondering to the thought of losing my dad so I got up and took the pugs outside and play. When Kaden arrived home I fixed us lunch then we cuddled on the couch.

“Did you get all of your errands done?” I quizzed.

  “I did,” Kaden responded.

  “That’s good.”

“I see you took the pugs outside to play. Reading wasn’t interesting?”

“It was, but my mind kept wandering.”

  “Let me guess, your Dad?”

  “You’ve just won a BMW!”

He chuckled. “Why don’t you invite one of your friends over?”

“No, I want to spend the day with you. Well, what’s left of it.”

He grinned. “Are you sure? You can spend time with me any day.”

“Trying to get rid of me?” I joked.

  “You know it.” He winked.

“I love being with you. I might as well enjoy it while I can.”

  “Any more thought on college?”

  “Nope.”

“Alright then. How many kids do you want with me?”

I laughed. “Change the subject much?”

  “I do. Now how many?”

  “I’m not sure, you?”

“I want a big family! Say four.”

“That’s a nice number, but we’ll see where the road takes us. Why do you want a big family?”

“Because I know each of our children will look just like you and I’ve always wanted a big family. I know we’ll have so many good memories to look back on when the kids get older.”

“Thinking way ahead of time are we?”

  “Might as well.”

I kissed him. “You’ll be a great Dad!”

“And you’ll be a great Mom! Would you like to have our kids call you mom?”

“I would. But at a later date in life.”

“I can’t wait to go bungee jumping and sky diving.”

“Neither can I!” I smiled as I kissed his cheek. “I hope we’re this in love to the day we grow old.”

He smiled. “We will. I know I won’t change my love for you. Now when you get pregnant and your hormones change you I might have to run a lap.”

I laughed. “Why? What would be so bad?”

“You will see when that time comes. But lets just say you’ll be very moody.”

“I don’t think I’ll get like that, I’ll be happy.”

“You won’t mean to get moody, but we’ll see.”

  “We sure will.” I smiled.

“Are you positive you would like to be a Mom later in life?”

“I am. I used to not want to be, but I like the fact of having kids with you. I see how well you play and bond with Riley and it makes me feel like you will be a great father.”

“I will always be good to our children. I’ll never leave you hanging.”

I laughed. “Even if you have to go to meetings?”

  “Even then.” He grinned.

“I’m going to make you stick to this.”

“You don’t have to make me because I will. You have my upstanding word on it.”

  “Good. Very good.” I grinned.

“I hope one of our children will look or act like your Dad.”

“Why? That’ll make me miss him even more.”

“I think it’ll ease your mind.”

  “How?”

He laughed heartily. “I have my way of knowing.”

“Really? Well, we’ll see if you’re right. If one of our children do look like my dad, we’ll see how I act.”

  “I know, I’m right.”

I laughed. “You always think you’re right that’s why you got that black and blue cheek.”

“Guess I should keep my mouth from running.”

“I think that would be best. You might get hurt worse next time around.”

“I think I’d be the one giving the black and blue cheek next time around.”

I shook my head disagreeing. “Not a chance.”

“You are something else, Sara. That is what makes you Sara.”

“Darn right! There’s no other girl like me.”

  “That’s a good thing.”

  I smiled. “What’s for dinner?”

“What! I’m not cooking you are. I’m the one with the black and blue cheek remember?”

  “That’s not my fault.”

“I’ll cook dinner but you owe me.”

“Owe you another black and blue eye?”

  He chuckled. “Please, no.”

“Well, then don’t tell me I owe you.”

He smiled. “Fine. What do you want for dinner?”

“Steak, mashed potatoes and corn. Oh and chocolate cake with chocolate icing.”

“Alright.” He stood up and went into the kitchen to start cooking dinner.

“I’ll wash dishes.” I called over to him.

“Good because you were going to anyways.”

  “Yeah, yeah, in your dreams.”

He chuckled. “If you say so. Now hush so I can cook. Next thing I know I’ll burn myself.”

“Wouldn’t be my fault.” I heard him snort.

Once we ate dinner we sat at the kitchen table eating a piece of cake.

  “This taste great!” Kaden exclaimed.

  “That’s because I baked it. I know I’m the best,” I replied.

“Apparently you get all the credit for what I did?”

  “I do.” I winked.

He smiled. “I think we should go do our thrills next week on Saturday.”

“That will be great and fun.”

“It would and will.” Once we finished eating the cake I washed the plates while Kaden stayed seated at the table. “I want to do it before the cold gets here and that won’t be long.”

“That would be best I think. I couldn’t do these things with it being cold.”

“Well, now we have something to look forward to next week!”

  “Will we get wind burned?”

“I don’t think so. It won’t be that cold so we should be fine. Besides I’ll warm you up afterwards.” He winked.

I smiled. “I’m sure you will.”

“You know it, Baby.” He winked twice.

I laughed. “You and your sexiness. I just can’t get enough.”

  “I know I’m hot.”

  “Am I?”

“Oh, Baby, you’re more than hot! You’re like a lick off a lolli pop where you just can’t stop!” I laughed heartily. “This is how I feel about you.”

“I’m glad you do even though it’s funny.”

  “It was funny wasn’t it?”

  “Yeah, you and your words.”

“At least I make you laugh.”

“It was hard for me not to laugh at what you said.”

“I want you to know that I really am series about what I said about you.”

“I know you are. You don’t have to keep telling me.”

“Okay. I just wanted to make sure that your pea sized brain could remember.”

“Like making fun of me, huh?”

“No, fun in life without doing it.” I turned my nose up at him. “Turn that up anymore and it’s going to run away.” He chuckled. I opened my mouth not believing he just said that! I knew it was a joke so I got up and tackled him out of the chair. “You should play football.” I playfully smacked him and hopped off of him. He stood up and put his arms around me. “I would really like to have a lick.” He raised his eyebrows up and down.

I laughed. “You’ll just have to keep waiting.”

“Darn.” We kissed. I went ahead and got into bed. Once Kaden came back in with the pugs he joined me in bed. He gently caressed my thigh. “Are you sure I can’t?”

I laughed. “I’m pretty sure I was clear about not having sex again until I was eighteen.”

He huffed as he rolled away from me. I was hoping I was doing the right thing by not having sex with him until I’m eighteen. I don’t want him to break off the engagement over this, but if he really loves me he can wait to have sex with me. It’ll show me he’s with me for more than getting into my pants and so far he’s shown me that; so lets see if he can hold out a bit longer.

May It Be A Match Made Right?

Today was the first Saturday of September. So far school was going great! I still haven’t managed to tell Lucy about Kyle yet, but I know I need to tell her soon before it’s too late. Kaden decided that we were going to go bungee jumping and skydiving today. I didn’t see why we couldn’t do these events on separate days, but Kaden insisted we do them both on the same day; which made me think he had something else planned for Sunday.

“Are you ready to jump?” Kaden asked me as I looked over the bridge down towards the ground.

  “Not really,” I replied nervously.

“I’ll be right over there jumping with you. The camera man will be taking our

Picture,” Kaden gestured as he pointed to where he would be.

“Like that’s supposed to make me feel better. What’s he going to do? Take a picture of me dying and post it on the internet. “Why you shouldn’t bungee jump,” I said smartly.

He laughed. “I’m going to be in the same position as you.”

I laughed. “What help would you be to me? You’re way over there.” I pointed to where he would be.

“Well, it’s simple. I could swing to you and catch you.”

I laughed. “That would be hard considering you’ll be flying up and down in the air!”

He smiled. Weren’t you the one that said you wanted to do this?”

“Yes, I did. But now that I’m here I’m not so sure I want to risk my life when I have so much to look forward to in my life.”

He grinned. “You’ll be fine. Take a deep breath, block everything out of your mind and jump.”

I laughed as Kaden walked away and thought, yeah right! Like that’s really going to work. I stood on the ledge peering down as my heart fluttered. I was so scared and wanted to back out of this, but Kaden was right. I wanted to do this so I have to get the courage from somewhere and jump. I looked over at him and he gave me thumbs up. I smiled at him as I thought; he’s got to be insane to be so giddy about this.

“Are you ready?” The instructor asked.

“Ready as I’ll ever be,” I replied.

“I’m going to count to three. Jump on three.”

I took in a deep breath and closed my eyes. “Alright let’s do this.”

  “One… Two… Three…”

I squeezed my eyes shut and jumped. I could hear Kaden hollering excitedly as I was wishing with each sling it was over. When I got the courage I opened my eyes and stared and the bungee fearing it would snap and I’d be a goner! When the bungee finally stopped the instructor came over to take me down.

As he was unhooking me I was impatiently waiting to get down. When my feet were finally on the ground I dropped to my knees, stretched my arms out as I leaned over and kind-of hugged the ground.

“I’ve missed you!” I said as Kaden walked over to me laughing.

“Sara, what are you doing?” Kaden asked.

“I’m so glad to be back on land! That scared the shit out of me!”

He chuckled as he helped me up. “I thought it was awesome! If I had time today I’d do it again!”

“My heart was beating so hard that you could probably see it through my skin.”

He chuckled. “Was it a rush for you?”

“A rush to get it over with.”

  “So you didn’t enjoy it?”

“Not really. I was extremely scared!”

He hugged me. “I’m sorry, Sara. But at least you can say you did it.”

“I’ll never do it again. That’s for sure.”

“Do you think you’ll be up to go skydiving? My opinion is that skydiving would be scarier than bungee jumping.”

“I’m going to try it. I don’t think I’ll have a problem with skydiving because someone will be attached to me that know what they’re doing.”

“I’m hoping you enjoy skydiving more than you did bungee jumping.” We kissed.

We thanked the instructors then headed off to sky-dive. The camera man came along to take pictures of us sky diving. My instructor, Alex, was in his late thirties, tall and skinny with graying hair. Kaden’s instructor, Kenny, was about the same age, but short and cocky. As we got ready, they explained the dos and don’ts of skydiving and how to position our bodies. Once we were on the plane. I started to get butterflies in my stomach.

  “I’m so nervous!” I exclaimed.

  “You have noth
ing to worry about. We are in safe hands with these gentlemen.” Kaden pointed to Alex and Kenny who were sitting across from us.

“How many times have you two done this?” I quizzed both men.

“Too many to remember,” Alex responded with a smiled.

“Well, that’s good. At least you have done so may you can’t keep up,” I stated smartly as

I looked at Kaden giving him a these guys are weird look. He kissed my cheek.

When it was time to jump Kaden went first then it was my turn. As we soared through the sky our instructors did some tricks which freaked me out. I really wanted to ask him to stop, but I knew he wouldn’t be able to hear me so I threw away my fears and enjoyed this insane moment. I was enjoying my time so much that when Alex pulled the cord to release the parachute I felt like my heart was going to leap out of me and soar away.

I calmed down when Alex let me steer the parachute. I tried to give him the handles back, but he wouldn’t take them so I had no choice. As I controlled the parachute Alex helped me perform tricks. It felt so awesome! When we landed on the ground Alex unhooked me from him and I ran right into Kaden’s arms.

I kissed him. “That was so awesome!” I exclaimed.

“It sure was! It was the best thing in the world!” Kaden exclaimed.

We thanked Alex and Kenny then we discussed the picture process with the camera man. After we got all the details we went home and freshened up because Kaden decided he wanted to take me out for dinner.

“I had the best time today! I can’t wait to see the pictures!” I exclaimed as we ate.

“I had a great time today too!” Kaden responded happily.

“I’ve been thinking about going skiing one winter.”

  “We can for our honeymoon.”

“You know what? That’s a damn good idea!”

I giggled “Of course it is because I thought of it.”

He smiled. “Remind me to thank you when pigs fly.”

I giggled. “Well, you can remind me to kick your butt for being so mean to me.”

He chuckled. “I’m only playing, Baby. Even though going skiing for our honeymoon seems cool. I was thinking that you’d want to go somewhere tropical instead.”

I smiled. “Maybe we could go on two honeymoons?”

“We’ll have to see. I really want to go skiing, but I don’t think that should be done for our honeymoon.”
