“Me too, but it’s always good to make new memories.”

“It’ll always be here. The hospital will make great use of it.”

“I hope no one will tear it down.”

“No one should. We’ll come visit this house every time we come see your parents.”

“It’ll make me want it back even more.”

“Me too, but there are times when you have to move on.”

  “Moving on sucks sometimes.”

He chuckled. “At times it does and I will agree with you that moving on from this house; our first home is going to suck, but it’s going to good use.”

“It sure is. I’m going to tell them to take care of our home.”

He smiled. “I’m sure you won’t have to tell them that.”

“Well, I’ll tell them anyways just to make sure.”

  “Alright, have it your way.”

  I smiled. “Don’t worry. I will.”

“Are you ready to go to bed, miss I’ll have it my way or no other?”

“Yes, miss I’ll have it my way or no other is ready for bed. Is Mr. I want to make everything better ready for bed?”

“Yes Mr. I want to make everything better is ready for bed.” We laughed heartily.

“I love you like peanut butter and jelly!”

He grinned widely. “I love you like honey suckle.” We kissed like we’ve never kissed before.

  Pregnant Pug

We took the pugs to the vet for their checkups and found out Sadie was pregnant with three pugs! Kaden and I were super excited! Today Riley was coming over for her weekend visit. We couldn’t wait to tell her she’ll be getting a puppy from Sadie.

Kaden called Kyle for Lucy and he agreed to come see her, but not until next weekend because he was busy with school work. He was excited to meet Lucy and said that she seemed like she’s a great person.

I called Lucy and let her know the good news. She was really excited! Lucy and I were going shopping next Friday so she could get a bomb outfit as she said for next Saturday. “It’s time to pick up Riley, Sara,” Kaden said.

“Great! Lets go,” I replied excited.

“Well, how about you go get her, tell your Mom and Dad about the pugs, but keep it a secret from Riley. I want to tell her when she gets her.”

“Alright.” We kissed then I drove to pick up Riley. As I started walking toward the front door Mom opened it. Riley appeared from behind her; and as soon as she saw me she ran into my arms.

“Are you ready to spend the weekend with Kaden and I?” I quizzed.

Riley nodded her head agreeing. “Go bye-bye?” she asked.

I laughed. “I have to talk to Mommy really quick then we can go.”

  “Okay.”

Mom smiled as she hugged me. “Hi, Sara. Where’s Kaden?”

“He’s at the house waiting for Riley and me,” I replied as we entered the house.

  “Go bye-bye?” Riley asked again.

I giggled. “We’re going to leave really soon. I promise.” I set her down so I could say hello to Dad. “Hey, Dad. How are you doing today?”

“I’m doing great today! Thank you so much for having Riley spend the weekend with you,” Dad smiled.

  I grinned. “Anytime, Dad.”

He gestured for me to lean closer to him so he could kiss my cheek. “You and Kaden have fun with Riley. She’ll keep you on your toes.”

I giggled. “We’re going to have a blast!”

He grinned. “Send Riley in here so I can say good-bye.”

“Okay, Dad.” I did as he asked then I walked into the kitchen where Mom was checking Riley’s bags.

“My dog Sadie is pregnant with three puppies,” I spoke quietly.

  “Wow! That is great!”

“Keep it a secret from Riley. Kaden is going to tell her today when we get to the house.”

  “Awe! She’ll be so excited!”

“So is everything ready for Riley?”

Mom zipped up her bag. “Yes. Thank you and Kaden again for taking her this weekend,” Mom said.

Mom handed me Riley’s bags. “You’re welcome Mom. I’m going to take these to the car and I’ll be right back.”

Mom grinned. After I put Riley’s belongings into the trunk of my car I went back in to say good-bye. I hugged Dad first. “It was nice seeing you, Dad. Have a good weekend with Mom.

“I will, Sara. Bye,” Dad smiled.

Mom carried Riley outside as I followed behind her. After placing Riley’s car seat in my car I turned to Mom who kissed and hugged Riley good-bye.

“I’ll see you Sunday, Baby Girl. I hope you have lots of fun with Sissy and Kaden.”

  “Go bye-bye?” Riley asked happily.

Mom giggled as she kissed her once more then she handed her to me. After securing Riley in her seat I rose up to see that Mom was crying. “If you’re upset over this I don’t mind not taking her for the weekend.” I told Mom.

She chuckled. “No, she has been looking forward to this and your Dad and I have been looking forward to spending alone time together.”

I smiled as I shut Riley’s door. “We’ll see you at noon on Sunday then.” I hugged Mom.

“See you Sunday.” Mom waved to Riley as I got into the car. As I drove away I could see that Mom had begun crying again as she continued to wave. I wanted to demand that she take Riley back, but I knew Mom was looking forward to being alone with Dad.

When I arrived home Kaden ran out and grabbed Riley’s luggage while I got Riley out of the car. When I got inside Riley squirmed to get down so I set her down and she ran right into Kaden’s arms. Kaden hugged her then he sat down with her next to Sadie telling her that Sadie is going to have puppies.

Riley jumped up and down excitedly after Kaden told her she was going to be given a puppy.

  “Thank you!” Riley exclaimed.

“Well, you don’t have to thank us now. The puppies are not here yet,” I smiled.

“That’s right. Thank us later on,” Kaden agreed.

  “Play?” Riley asked.

“You and I are going to color your Dad and Mom a picture. I have all the supplies in the kitchen,” Kaden said.

I turned around and sure enough there were coloring pencils and paper supplies on the table.

“That’s a great idea!” I said as Riley and Kaden stepped into the kitchen.

  “Thank you,” Kaden replied.

“Well, I guess I’ll go over here all by myself while you two color,” I said wondering if

Riley would ask me to join them.

  “Color too,” Riley said.

I smiled as I walked over and sat at the table. “I guess you do love me,” I stated.

“I love you,” Riley replied smiling. Riley began to draw and a moment later she looked up at me. “Dada rest.” She said as she pointed to her drawing.

I looked at Kaden feeling as if I were going to cry. “Awe, that’s a cute drawing.”

Riley smiled. “Dada out.” She replied meaning that she wanted Dad to get out of bed.

“Dad can’t, Riley. Dad needs rest to get better. Hopefully he will be able to get out of bed and play soon,” I replied sadly.

She smiled as she continued to draw. After a while she stopped drawing and handed me two pictures saying one was for Mom and the other for Dad. I took them and placed them in a small book bag Mom had packed snacks in for Riley, but now that I had taken the snacks out there was plenty of room for Riley’s projects.

“Are you having fun here so far?” I questioned.

  “Yes,” Riley answered.

“That’s wonderful! Do you want Mac and cheese, hotdogs and tator tots for dinner? Kaden asked Riley.

&n
bsp; “Your wish is my command,” I answered as I stood up.

  Riley giggled. “You funny.”

“I’m glad that you think I am. Kaden doesn’t,” I replied.

“That’s not true. I think you’re quite funny,” Kaden informed me

I giggled. “Yeah, you think I’m funny when you’re making fun of me.”

He grinned as he clapped his hands. “Do you want a sticker?” He asked smartly.

I hung my mouth open and huffed as Kaden laughed. “I can tell this weekend is going to be loads of fun!”

He smiled. “We love you, Sara. Right, Riley?” he nudged her.

“Love you,” Riley smiled at me.

“I love you too,” I kissed Riley’s cheek.

“Ewe!” Riley wiped away my kiss.

“Ugh! That wasn’t nice,” I said.

  “No, kiss me!” Riley demanded.

  “Well, excuse me!” I giggled.

Kaden laughed. “Stop making my little sugarplum mad.”

I smiled shaking my head negatively as I collected the items from the fridge to prepare dinner. After we finished eating I cleaned up the kitchen while Riley and Kaden played with a set of blocks on the living room floor.

“Why don’t you leave those dishes in the sink for once and come over here and play with Riley and me?” Kaden asked.

“Oh, I couldn’t do that. Besides you two are having fun,” I replied.

  “Please,” Riley begged.

I smiled. “Riley, I’ll be there in a little bit I won’t be long here,” I informed her.

  “Okay,” Riley replied sadly.

“I tried, but she just won’t listen,” Kaden said to Riley as he peered up at me and winked.

I smiled. “I’ll only be a little bit longer,” I assured them.

After I finished cleaning up I joined Riley and Kaden, but they were no longer playing blocks; they were sitting on the sofa watching cartoons.

“Well, this upsets me. I wanted to play blocks.” I said as I sat beside Kaden.

  “All done,” Riley replied.

“Yeah, snooze you lose. Right, Riley?” Kaden questioned.

  Riley nodded her head positively.

I laughed. “Okay, you two enough with the harshness, I get it.”

  “Do you?” Kaden asked.

“You are going to get it later trust me,” I said to Kaden.

“Whatever you say. Right, Riley?” Kaden asked.

Riley didn’t say anything. She was really into the movie that was called UP. It was a very cute and funny film. When it ended Kaden and I glanced at Riley who was fast asleep.

Kaden and I had moved Riley’s bed into our room because we didn’t trust her being upstairs alone especially since there was not a gate at the top of the stairs to prevent her from falling down them. After I dressed Riley in her pajamas and put her to bed I joined Kaden on the couch.

“I love you, you know,” Kaden stated as we kissed passionately. We took off each other’s shirts, but when he tried to take my bra off I pulled away from him.

  “We can’t do this.”

He sighed frustrated as he put his shirt back on. “Sara, you’re seventeen now. Technically you are an adult.”

“Maybe I am, but I still want to wait. The longer we wait the better it’ll be.” I put my shirt back on.

He gestured for me to lay against him as he put his arm around my shoulder. “It’s so hard to wait. I want you so bad that I can’t stand to be near you sometimes.”

I giggled. “I’ll be eighteen soon enough, but then I might make you wait until we get married.

  He chuckled. “You wouldn’t.”

I giggled. “You want to bet?”

He smiled. “No, I don’t want to bet.” We smooched.

“You and I need to go out on a date soon.”

  “I would like that.”

“We should go on dates more often. I miss it.”

“I miss going out on dates with you too. It’s hard though to plan a date night when we don’t know what we’re doing one day from the next.”

“Well, for now on if it’s not too late and if we’re not busy then we can go on a date.” I smiled.

“We need to get all the dates in we can get!” He winked.

I giggled. “On our next date we need to figure out something different to do.”

“When the time comes I’m sure we’ll think of something.”

I smiled as I kissed him then I yawned. “I’m feeling very tired.”

He yawned. “We should get some sleep. I know Riley will be up bright and early tomorrow.”

The next morning Riley woke Kaden and I up at eight-thirty. We were still tired and yawning constantly while Riley on the other hand was running all over the place. Even though I could barely keep my eyes open I managed to cook a delicious breakfast.

“Did you sleep well last night?” I asked Riley.

  “Yes,” Riley replied.

“That’s good to hear,” I smiled.

“I bought a very big piece of paper and some different colors of paint so that we can paint with our hands and feet, “Kaden informed Riley.

  Riley’s eyes brightened. “Paint!”

“Oh, Kaden! That’s going to be everywhere!” I said. Apparently my opinion didn’t matter because Kaden was already preparing the paper and paint. “Kaden. This is a bad idea!”

He chuckled. “Stop complaining and have some fun! Who cares if it’s messy,” Kaden said as him and Riley placed their hands in paint.

“Well, I care because I’ll have to clean it up and it might stain the floor,” I replied.

Kaden pulled on my arm making me sit on the floor beside him. He took my hands and placed them in the paint. “Have some fun with us.”

I sighed as I started to paint seeing that I had no choice now since my hands already had paint on them. After a while of painting Kaden decided to be a smartass by slinging paint on me; I paid him back by dumping a bottle of paint on him then Riley decided to dump paint on both of us! We had made a big mess!

After cleaning up the mess; we bathed and ate a quick lunch. Then we bundled up and went outside to play some games that Kaden had set up. I didn’t follow Kaden and Riley outside right away because I was putting sweaters on the pugs. They insisted on coming outside.

When I finally made it outside Kaden and Riley were playing crocket and gestured for me to join them. I let the pugs back inside moments later because they were shivering.

“The pugs didn’t stay outside long,” Kaden said as he handed me a crocket.

“They were begging to come out. I should have just left them inside,” I giggled.

He smiled. “She’s having so much fun here!” Kaden exclaimed as he took his turn.

“She sure is! She should take this game home with her,” I replied.

“I don’t think that would be the best thing to do considering it’s going to get colder as the months progress,” Kaden said.

I laughed as I took my turn. “I didn’t mean for her to play with it outside now.”

“Maybe you should be clearer about what you mean then.”

I made a face at him. “Whatever.

He made a face back at me. “Keep making faces and see what happens.” He joked.

I rolled me eyes. “What else could be worse than having paint all over me?”

“Don’t you worry about that. That’s for me to know and for you to find out.” He winked.

I smiled as I shook my head negatively. “We’ll see who gets who first.”

“Oh, we’re going to play that game, huh?”

I grinned widely. “Oh, yes, we are!”

  “My turn,” Riley interrupted us.
>
“Dropping Riley off tomorrow at your parents is going to be hard,” Kaden said.

“I just remembered something. Mom said she was going to call Riley every night and she hasn’t,” I stated.

“Maybe she thinks it’ll upset Riley.”

“Or maybe they’re having such a good time they forgot all about calling.”

“They may be enjoying themselves, but I know they didn’t forget to call Riley. They know she is in good hands,” Kaden stated.

“Your turn,” Riley informed me. I stepped up and hit the ball. After Kaden took his turn; Riley hit the ball once more and claimed that she won. Kaden and I didn’t know who the real winner was because we weren’t paying attention while we were talking. The next game we played was mini golf and Riley won. The last thing we played with was a big blowup ball that we kicked around. After a while we headed inside and had a cup of hot chocolate.

While Riley and Kaden watched cartoons and played with her blocks I cooked dinner. When we were through eating and I had cleaned up the kitchen we all sat on the sofa underneath a blanket as we watched cartoons.

“Did you have fun today?” Kaden asked Riley.

  “Yes,” Riley replied.

“We hope you can come back and spend the weekend again,” Kaden grinned.

“We enjoyed you being here,” I added.

  Riley smiled. “Come back?”

“We’ll talk to Mom about it, Okay,” I assured her.

  She smiled. “Okay.”

After Riley’s nightly cartoons went off Kaden flipped the channels and found the movie, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS. Kaden and I were so fixated on the movie that by the time it ended we hadn’t realized Riley had fallen fast asleep.

I took Riley from Kaden’s lap, put her pajamas on her and placed her in bed; then I joined Kaden on the sofa.

“Hey, Baby,” Kaden greeted me as he flipped through the TV channels.

“What are you looking for on TV?” I quizzed.

“Something adventures, but I can’t find anything.”

“Well, there has to be something on that interests you.”

He finally stopped flipping the channels and to my surprise he’d stopped it on a romance movie. “I guess we’ll watch romance movies.”
