by Black, Incy

He had her wrapped in his arms faster than his racing heart took to clear the miniscule space between its next beat. “So you’ll let me get you out of here and take you home. Because that’s where I need you to be, Sunshine. That’s where I want you for the rest of my life. Home. Unless you don’t like the loft, then we can—”

“The loft’s fine. Anywhere’s fine. Just so long as we’re not apart, Will.”

“Okay. That’s good. That’s better than good. It’s also our promise to each other. That we’ll be together.” Christ, his voice was cracking like an adolescent boy’s. He didn’t care that it was. “You like the name Berwick, Sunshine? Because I want you to share it. Just as soon as you’re ready. Just as soon as I can make it happen.”

Her nod against his throat? Best feeling ever. Life saving—no, life giving.

  About the Author

It took a swan dive from a roof (age 5) to convince Incy she wasn’t an avenging fairy with the gift of flight. Bruised but undefeated, she continues to live in her imaginary world populated with the brave, and the poisonous. When not fighting injustice and righting ‘wrongs’ on Planet Incy she works as a Marketing Director, her law degree languishing unused.

Her five children are well versed in what scares her (most things) and delight in pressing her neurotic buttons. A peril she escapes by welcoming the sanity of her readers. Like her on Facebook, follow her on Twitter, or subscribe to her newsletter Into the Black. Or visit her website. She loves to chat.
