  …Synopsis (Book 1)…

Kristina Layne-Knight wants more than a vacation. She wants to forget her hectic life in sales and promotions. A surprise spa package tempts her to explore her wildest fantasies with her one-time brother, Ian Knight.

Kristina and Ian lost touch once their mother left their dads. A getaway in Miami is the sun and heat that propels Ian and Kristina to admit their lust they could never confide in one another.

The lure of love forbidden is too strong to control. Ian finds Kristina under the stars at the surf and passion draws them together.

Kristina is torn. She knows she shouldn’t have feelings for her own stepbrother, but she cannot help herself. When Ian confides a secret to Kristina she never knew. Kristina realizes she must choose between a life of loneliness, or a romantic love with the one and only man she has loved.

Will Kristina choose unrequited love with men she’ll never want truly?

Or will she allow a scandalous love with Ian, her stepbrother, who intoxicates Kristina with his sensual touch, and unbridled lovemaking that scorches her soul?

  Prologue

Why Kristina had to get out of bed defied rhyme or reason. She took off her Coca-Cola red T-shirt and padded into her kitchen to get a cup of coffee. Java was about the only thing that was going to get her perky enough to dress up like a strumpet and behave like a college undergrad.

The bar her friends had told her about had a rep for being unruly and crazily unpredictable. How fun. Like Kristina’s life wasn’t a thrill already? She worked in promotions, and her coffee was how she tanked up before having to schmooze. Her coworker texted her and she said she’d they meet—as soon as she found something sluttier than sleeping in bed nearly bottomless.

Kristina’s tee and black thong made her long like an X-rated version of Sports Illustrated cover model.

She tried a halter and open-toes sandals with a heel.

  “This ought to do.”

Kristina slipped into white ankle-length resort dress she bought. The kind she had to have but after she bought it, there wasn’t any place she could wear it that fit the crowd, or the mood. A jaunt to an after-hours bar was a good a locale to try out her bohemian-chic crème and cropped dress jacket that matched her blonde perm, and her hazel-green eyes.

Now she had to find something shiny to deflect any ruffians who thought she was easy, or better, a lady of the night. She decided a friendly “I’m fine”, would suffice. Kristina was probably a lot of things. Still, she was going for “pretty”, not desperate, or “horny girl” with an itch to satisfy.

Kristina checked her body in her side mirror on her bathroom door. The mirror was a beautiful find at a street sale, and she’d had to have it. Eyes touched with hint of shadow, hair long, and blown out enough to look like she belonged in a club, even if she didn’t feel like did, ever. Kristina turned and made a 360 spin, and thought she looked slutty enough to attract the dogs, and mature enough not to call attention to herself from the hungry biatches that were sure to be on the prowl at the bar.

Kristina grabbed her retro copper Fendi and she headed to meet her coworkers. She’d have preferred to stay in bed.

Although if she met someone she thought was cute, maybe she might just let him say, “Hello”.

  Chapter 1

Kristina ambled through the smoked-filled bar, holding her breath. Her friend Suki handed a twenty dollar bill to a waitress wearing a corset and fishnet stockings. Kristina turned to Jasmine who stood behind Suki squinting through the red-lit haze.

“Why are we here again?” Kristina whispered loudly.

Jasmine was a dear friend who worked in promotions with Kristina and Suki. “PR is stacked with the agency old dogs. You know they’re working our biggest signees. We’ve been assigned to pick out the future artists,” Jasmine said. “Suki and I are going to find as many of them as we can that the company will work with.”

Kristina watched the scantily clad waitress take the twenty bucks. She followed Suki, Jasmine, and the waitress, admiring how Jasmine had the Intel on the inter-agency gossip.

Packing into a singles’ club was not Kristina’s kind of flair. Searching for talent in a country-western bar filled with single urban cowboys and horny female hipsters and cougar housewives, was about as uncomfortable for Kristina as making love on bed of roses.

There were too many chances she, Jasmine, or Suki would get a thorn in their side if they sidled up to the wrong kind of, “talent”.

Kristina usually brought their agency trendy artists and one-time literary trendsetters. She was 25 now, and she had learned away around the clubs and ravers circuit pretty darned well during her summer internship.

A beer longneck sailed across the bar.

Kristina shoved Suki to the side as she ducked out of the bottle’s way.

“Suki, are you sure this is the kind of place where we should try to find new talent?” Kristina whispered to Suki.

A tall dark-haired biker picked up a busty blonde. Kristina watched the busty woman squeal as the biker plopped her on top of a pinball game. The leather clad biker slammed his chaps against the blonde’s booty, pretending he was riding her like a prize filly.

Kristina eyed Suki and Jasmine warily. The cowboys and divas-in-training in this urban cowboy bar were way out of their PR Agency’s wheelhouse. Kristina learned fast that Syren usually stuck with sure bets.

“Def, Krissy. We have to get some unknown artists. If we don’t, we risk giving up the undiscovered ones to agency competitors.”

The top agencies in the city were looking for the area’s finest. Kristina had been finding more up and comers for the Syren Agency herself; she knew Suki must be right.

Since Kristina had joined Syren, the writers and the sports talent had been taking up most of the promotion team’s attention. When the agency brought in a new boss Bo, the company name changed, and Kristina knew the company was ready to shake things up with the promotions world.

A short, stubby-looking octogenarian asked Kristina if he could have her number. “I’ve got a nice retirement. I can treat you real nice. “Wanna dance?”

Kristina smiled making an excuse she was with friends.

The man was so drunk, Kristina didn’t think he knew his pants had slung down around his boots. He reminded her of an inebriated Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies.

  The waitress l
ed Suki, Jasmine, and Kristina to a table and Jasmine looked at Suki.

“How are we supposed to find new talent? We’re at the back of the club.”

Suki motioned for Kristina and Jasmine to come close.

“See the stage? We’re right beside it.”

Jasmine scooted in front of Kristina and she nodded. “You’re right. We’re where the local talent is.”

Kristina watched her coworkers Suki and Jasmine pick out the performer-types, from riff raff in the crowd. It was pretty impressive. Especially since Kristina hadn’t watched them work an event since working together at their agency for more than a year.

After two years washing dishes at local dive after graduating college, Kristina promised herself she would do whatever she had to, whenever she could.

Though glamming up to sit in a western bar to see men and women fondle each other, and ‘making it’ like horned up rabbits in the wild, was making Kristina feel a little uncomfortable in her skin.

“Come on, Kristina, pitch in,” said Suki.

Kristina had brought the agency its newest crop of fresh talent. She thought Suki and Jasmine had asked her out so they could hang and relax.

“I thought we had clocked our eleven hours for the day,” said Kristina.

“Kristina, I know,” said Suki. “We wanted to get the jump on scooping the other agencies. You did a bang-up score finding our PR new talent to promote. We’ve got to pull our haul, girl.”

Suki stood and she fling her dark hair over her blouse. Her dark, pretty skin was so flawless, Kristina wondered if the beautiful African American woman bathed nightly in cocoa. “All right, I’ll take the other side. Jasmine, what do you think about taking this end?”

Jasmine looked up from her Roy Rogers drink she had that had a pink umbrella. “Fine with me. I’ll use any reason not to run up a tab on my own credit,” said Jasmine.

“Hold down the cowboys for us, Krissy?”

“Yes, Sirs,” Kristina held her hand to her forehead.

“Thanks,” said Suki. “We know you’re supposed to be on your vacation.”

“For the cause,” Kristina held up her Ding-a-ling drink.

Suki and Jasmine blended into the crowd, looking for members of the country and western band who had just played. Suki had caught the band’s lead singer. Jasmine had taken off her suit jacket, revealing her ample Indian tits, and struck up a conversation with the drummer.

Kristina spit up some of the concoction, smiling. She had to give the props to her coworkers. They were go-getters as much as she was.

  Chapter 2

Kristina wished she was busty like Jasmine Javan or as pretty as Suki Radisson. All she had was a B-cup breasts—and skinny legs. Kristina knew she had filled out since she first started college. She’d wanted to be something, more.

Her business classes were going fine, but she wondered if she should start her own company someday.

Doing exactly what, Kristina still didn’t know.

She’d bleached her hair. Changed her look from blonde, to brunette, to redhead. She’d even dyed her hair pixie blue before undergrad graduation. Anything to change her look so she would feel like she had a new sense of direction or purpose.

Truth was, Kristina never believed she was truly pretty.

Only one person had made her feel beautiful. Then she had gone and let things happen and let the one guy who had meant everything to her use her. Kristina sat up at the table at the back of the cowboy bar, afraid someone might see how terrible woman she was. Because what she had done with another man was unthinkable.

  *****

Kristina knew she wanted a forbidden love, and she didn’t know if her heart could stand it.

“Hi. What’s your name, pretty gal?”

Kristina looked up and she saw a big cowboy dressed in jeans and a dress shirt smiling. My, he was big. Very big.

The big cowboy offered to buy Kristina another drink.

  “What are you having?”

“A, ding-a-ling.” Kristina looked up at the giant brute, her cheeks blushing under her soft, green eyes.

“Wow. That is a mouthful.” The cowboy tipped back his hat and he ordered Kristina her drink.

Kristina scooted over in her booth and the man slid next to her. Kristina smelled a hint of soap and what she thought she remembered was CK-One. Somebody else she was this close to always wore it, a long time ago.

Something about the way this cowboy looked at Kristina made her shiver. She pretended she had to stretch, trying to distract her body from the flush of heat she felt between her thighs.

Suki neared the table and before Kristina could introduce her, she held up her hand. Kristina and Suki knew the cowboy couldn’t see her.

Suki motioned she was headed to another part of the club. She pointed to the other side where Kristina thought Jasmine still was. Suki looked at the cowboy nodding while she smiled.

Kristina saw Suki make an “OK” with her thumb and forefinger while she grinned approvingly.

  *****

Before Kristina knew it, she and the cowboy were at her place, stripping off their clothes, on the way bed.

“This is crazy, I don’t even know your name—.”

“Anthony Giovanni Thermopolis. My friends call me Anthony—.” Kristina felt the big cowboy raise her into his arms. He nipped at her neck and he unhooked Kristina’s bra in less time than it had taken him to fall off the bar’s mechanical bronc.

Some men were just naturals, thought Kristina.

“Nobody calls you Tony?” Kristina bent down to kiss the cowboy on his chest. His pecs felt full and solid, and he had tufts of soft black hair that swirled at the center.

Kristina planted little kisses over his biceps and his chin. She couldn’t help running her hands over his big, giant body. He was so built, and so muscled, and he smelled so much like her stepbrother, Ian.

“My mama, nobody else—.” Anthony scooped Kristina up in his arms.

The bed beneath Kristina rocked as Anthony lifted her hips. Her back arched when he dipped his tongue deeply into her core. Kristina writhed on the bedsheets, clawing at his brawny back with her nails. By the time the cowboy reached her legs she burned everywhere. She nearly lost her breath when he pressed his lips to her taut nipples. Kristina sucked in her breath sharply as he began to suck.

Kristina had never enjoyed this much oral pleasure except with a few skillfully endowed men.

Ian was the first lover Kristina had. Anthony the Cowboy was ravaging her swollen labia and tits and giving Ian a run for first place.

Anthony’s large hands kneaded Kristina’s her hips. Anthony looked up and he smiled, and then he dropped back down to her legs.

Kristina begged to feel his hardness inside her. Anthony grinned and he bent lower. Kristina felt his hard tongue massage her clitoris. He nipped and flicked at her sensitive flesh, rolling his tongue around and making circles. The cowboy arced his tongue into wider arcs until it slipped over the crack of her anus. Kristina writhed as tiny shards of pleasure soared through her body.

Kristina wanted her cowboy to take her so thoroughly until she begged to have him. Anthony touch his hands to her and she shuddered, reveling how expertly his warm, hungry mouth worried her clit. Kristina couldn’t come. She wanted to, desperately. Her thoughts raced to being with the man she truly wanted. He invaded her dreams and her mind when she was awake. Kristina realized she was lost in secret, forbidden fantasy

Anthony slid inside Kristina and she let him have her fully. She stared at his hat and shirt, wanting it be someone else’s. She wished she could feel the intensity of her love again and again with the one man she always would love.

Anthony shook and released himself into Kristina, spent. Kristina wasn’t on her cycle, knowing she and her cowboy were protected. There had been a time Kristina would have wanted children or a family. Kristina worked so hard nowadays, she wondered if finding a good, strong man was truly possible.

  Kristina wo
uldn’t settle for a guy who couldn’t give oral pleasure at least as good Anthony Giovanni Thermopolis. Every woman wanted a man who gave good head. If Kristina hadn’t worried her first time had ruined her for any other man, Anthony would have been the perfect man to maybe marry. Only one other man had been that good in bed.

  Chapter 3

  Why was her alarm ringing?

Kristina reached over her goose feather comforter to swap at the clock. She grasped for it and it slipped from her hand to the floor. Kristina flung her 5’7” body over her warm, downy spread, reaching around the floorboards, unable to see through the dark. When she grabbed the clamoring thing, it stilled. Kristina slapped the clock onto her handsome handmade oak stand and swung herself under a plume of bedcovers.
