NAMES (of planets and stars) – With infinite numbers of stars, planets and places they cannot be named for navigation with words alone. Where detailed unique definition is required – for instance to direct messages – then a combination of name and musical theme is used. EG planet Earth♫ is denoted by its name and musical adjunct to ensure accuracy of travel and messaging. The musical theme part of the place name often originates from, or becomes part of, an anthem that can engender inspiration in many cultures.

OMEYN MuneMei – Tyrant leader of race Spargar, part cyber, part human. Able to deploy multiple copies of ‘her’ self capable of bodily transport to other worlds thereby giving Omeyn MuneMei control over Spargar activities everywhere. This ensures Spargar culture will be precisely replicated across all Spargar planets. Omeyn is a truncation of Omeyocan – female/male god known by the Mayans.

PASSING THROUGH – Gayan term for death, or more accurately, the transfer of a soul from one physical body to rebirth in another. This happens in all human races. Gayan Worders are uniquely able to manage this process to move souls intelligently to new lives in the home range or other planets across the galaxy. ‘Passing Through’ is to ‘au revoir’ for Gayans as ‘Passing Away’ is to ‘goodbye’ on planet Earth.

PLEIADES Star Cluster (Seven Sisters) – Open star cluster 450 light years from Earth dominated by hot blue and extremely luminous stars. Home range of race Dawn of planet Gaya.

POINTERS of Dawn – Project leaders on planets with emerging human races of interest to race Dawn of Gaya. Pointers lead campaigns of Enlightenment on these new worlds. Pointers report to Worders that control Gayan influence from planet Chamarel in their home range. Keeran (named Darryl in California, also named Joe later in Cambridge), Alron (named Robert in California, also named Daniel in Cambridge) and Amily (named Charlotte in Cambridge) are Pointers of Dawn in this episode.

RED THREADS – known in some Earthly oriental cultures, red threads are issued on birth to announce the presence of an advanced soul to important soul mates in their locality. Used by some cultures to recognise individuals crucial to a person’s lifetime. Highly developed within Gayan culture, red threads provide spiritual knowledge of the whereabouts of other Travellers of Dawn and non-verbal communication.

RIPALLOS – Communications devices used by Cavallos that also protect Gayans in their missions on other worlds by deflecting primitive projectile weapons.

SOLELY-SOUL – Gayan term for a soul not presently incarnated with a body. Able to communicate soul to soul with other Gayans and to some degree with other races or individuals with strongly developed spirituality. Solely-soul in Gayan culture is also a method of travel for disembodied individuals; it is quick and effective as it does not require physical spacecraft with life support for embodied individuals.

SOUL in Gayan knowledge – Souls can either be embodied (mortal) or liberated (disembodied, solely-soul). Souls pass through bodies rather than die or ‘pass away’ as currently perceived in western culture on planet Earth. Gayans are the only known human race in the galaxy aware that souls ‘pass through’ mortal bodies to reincarnate. Gayans use this knowledge to place Gayan souls in local births in other human races to allow them to mature to adulthood in the local culture. Gayans’ great rivals in the galaxy are Spargar who are dogmatically opposed to the existence of free souls.

SOULBORN – The birth of a new soul. Involves the conscious choice of a soul-aware race like Gayans for two souls (soul mother and soul father) to produce a new soul child. Requires the new soul to be born into a physical baby in the same manner as an existing soul passing through one body and being reborn into a new one.

SOULMORPHOSIS – the Gayan term for the moment when past lives’ history and knowledge emerges like a revelation at maturity of an adolescent with a Gayan soul. The phase between rebirth and Soulmorphosis is known as jejeune. After Soulmorphosis, Gayans have full awareness of their prior lives’ history, with recall of their knowledge and skills from all their regenerations.

SPARGAN – Home world of race Spargar, capital city Braganza. 150 light years from planet Earth.

SPARGAR – Human race from planet Spargan in the star cluster Hyades in constellation Taurus. Spargar is a highly stratified society led by the part biological, part cyber Omeyn MuneMei. Omeyn MuneMei rules Spargar society by intensive use of computer network technology across its planets of influence. Abducts large numbers of humans local to subordinate planets for analysis and integration to the Mind computer.

SYNCHRONOUS (opposite term Asynchronous) Souls – Souls that would normally be reincarnated roughly at the same time in the same place as a working or family unit are Synchronous souls. Synchronous souls are attached to each other on rebirth by psychic red threads so they recognise each other and carry on their relationship through the generations. Asynchronous souls are ones that are important to each other and should ideally be together in space and time but somehow get dislocated so they are separated for a period.

TRAVELLERS of Dawn – Collective term for agents from Gaya who travel interplanetarily on missions of Enlightenment (Pointers, Guides, Teachers, Cavallos, occasionally Worders, etc.).

VORARMS – Stave weapon of choice for Cavallos. Grown from Ivory Vine to the precise requirements of each Cavallo. Lightweight and super strong. Typically used as extension of one fighting arm.

WARPNODES – Spargar space messaging system. Warpnodes are installed at the edge of dark matter wherever Spargar have presence. Messages are broken into batches for security, travel instantaneously between warpnodes across the Spargar empire, then are relayed on to Spargar receiving stations. Messages can be sent point to point or broadcast one to many.

WARPWAVE – Gayan transport for souls or messages. Analogue in nature, allows souls or messages to travel as modulations on an ultra long wave. Flexible point to point allows transport of individual souls or messages. Critically allows managed soul transport, unlike Spargar warpnodes that cannot support soul transport and who do not believe in souls in any case.

WORDERS of Dawn – Highest caste of race Dawn of Gaya. Ancient councillors, planners and managers. Live mostly on Planet Chamarel and rarely travel, managing Dawn of Gaya operations across the galaxy from their adopted planet. Lykke, Chiara and Ghazan are Worders of Dawn in this episode.

ZARNHA – Agents of race Spargar for field operations on subordinate worlds and security officers on worlds within the Spargar Empire. Radical fundamentalist arm of Spargar that competes with Travellers of Dawn for political control of emerging human races in the Milky Way galaxy. Haruka, Michiko and Tatsu are high-ranking Zarnha on Earth in this episode.

  * * *

1The Mind. Spargar computer control system. Formed to fuse the original Omeyn MuneMei to the earliest version of Spargar biological control computer. Mind storage, transaction processing and networking is biological, analogous to human brains rather than primitive earthly silicon-based computers. Controls all Spargar culture across the Spargar empire in conjunction with Omeyn MuneMei replicants. Needs to be fused with abductees to capture cultures from new planets like Earth and with Spargans on death to cater for system growth.

2The Epsilon treaty prohibited serious criminal action between Spargar and Dawn on their home planets as well as emerging planets that were not aligned to either of the two major empires of human beings in this sector of the galaxy. The Epsilon treaty came into being to prevent planet busting of the type Spargar had deployed thousands of years previously. Planet busting was an advanced game of galactic marbles where appropriate technology could divert asteroids or comets to strike opponents’ planets to annihilistic effect. A particularly aggressive Omeyn MuneMei at that time had used asteroid course changing technology to eliminate worlds that they disapproved of and had in the end sent a small moon against Gaya, unaware that Dawn of Gaya had also developed similar technology and been able to divert
the hurtling moon fractionally away from Gaya into the gas giant Epsilon in the same planetary system. Dawn had then diverted a smaller but also potentially devastating asteroid towards Spargan that seared the sky on a close fly-by before colliding precisely with a small moon at the edge of Spargan’s planetary system with spectacular conflagration. Omeyn MuneMei had been forced to the negotiating table by the fact that Gaya could have destroyed Spargan rather than caused a fly-by warning. Both Worders of Dawn and Omeyn MuneMei of Spargar had refused publicly to accept that these near apocalypses were anything but naturally occurring near misses but both had immediately signed up to the Epsilon treaty eliminating use of such technologies. The remedy was assured destruction of their own home planet in the event of initiating a planet busting attack. Various more minor codicils to the treaty had also been inserted at the time relating to smaller transgressions against each other on what they considered to be their home worlds, including murder, kidnapping, extortion, racketeering and similar criminal transgressions. Despite this both sides ran extensive espionage operations particularly on developing worlds but these were largely intelligence gathering and seldom broke treaty rules. Unless they really had to.

3Music plays a great part in Gayan technology and culture. It is used as an identifier to determine positions of stars and planets with great accuracy providing the infinite range necessary to locate innumerable stars and planets. A specific planet is named in words and musical theme to distinguish it absolutely from many others with the same word name. This is essential for accurate navigation across billions of stars and ten times more planets. Music is also used to reinforce certain physical prowesses; together with natural stimulants from endocrine organs it allows Gayan humans to perform at levels multiple times those who have not discovered the ability to combine natural stimulants and musical release.

4Ripallos are small electronic devices that provide communication capabilities between Gayans, and defence from primitive projectile weapons.

5Psychic red threads are used by Gayans as means to find and emotionally connect to each other, especially useful for Gayans on other worlds connecting and passing emotional messages. Loosely understood by some earthly Asiatic cultures in the context of identifying the people most important in their lives.

6‘Either Way’ is the Cavallos of Dawn’s jargon term used for space transportation or the personal success of military engagement. It jokingly describes that they can escape a sticky situation in bodily form by spacecraft or as soul only if they die in combat. This is Cavallos’ dark humour, saying that if life is lost, the spirit can escape and one of their own can be extracted ‘Either Way’.

7‘Jejeune’ is the term for period of time between birth of a human baby inspired by Gayan soulfire to the moment at maturity when the embodied Gayan regains complete memory, knowledge and skills of all its lives going back to its soul birth.

8Warpnodes are critical relays to allow messages through space warp in the Spargar message transport system. Warpnodes installed at edge of dark matter wherever Spargar have presence. Messages are broken into batches for security, travel instantaneously between warpnodes across the Spargar Empire, then relayed from warpnodes to Spargar receiving stations. Very efficient, messages can be sent point to point or broadcast one to many.

9Asynchronous souls – souls that would normally be reincarnated roughly at the same time in the same place as a working or family unit are synchronous souls. Synchronous souls are attached to each other on rebirth by psychic red threads so they recognise each other and carry on their relationship through the generations. Asynchronous souls are ones that are important to each other and should be together in space and age but somehow get dislocated so they are separated in time or space for a period. Gayans disliked asynchronicity as it interfered with their favoured family and friend groupings developed over many generations. Worders of Gaya would ensure that synchronous groups would execute their plans to develop human races on other worlds through several generations to maintain continuity. Kyra’s abduction and imprisonment offended peace treaties across the Galaxy and also derailed synchronicity of this group developing Earth. Freeing Kyra would be a top priority for Worder planning and action. Worders looked after their own. Gayan individuals could be retrieved body or soul, ‘Either Way’ in Worder parlance.

10A Gayan soul combining with a newborn baby gains full recall of their entire spirit history through generations of reincarnations at adolescence. Prior to that all the resources of the eternal soul and growing child are used for development and there is no room for knowledge of events through the ages. The period between birth and total recall of their Gayan consciousness is termed Jejeune. This has some likeness to the infant stage in normal human development on Earth where there is a big change at about age four; adults have little memory prior to age four as cognitive resources are devoted to growth of brain and body in tandem. Awareness of prior incarnations is very rare without a Gayan soul but fragmentary examples are known in earthly humans, for example prior life revelations can be produced under hypnosis. Rarely children on Earth have complete recall of their prior life, for example a small boy once claimed a mature women was his wife after her husband had been killed and he was reborn in close proximity.

11Warpwave provides Gayan transport for souls or messages with no, or next to no, physical mass. Analogue in nature, it allows souls or messages to travel as modulations on an ultra long wave.

12Soulmorphosis is the Gayan term for the full emergence in a very short period of time of the awareness of a Gayan’s full lives history over many regenerations, with complete recall of their prior knowledge and skills. Prior to that is the Jejeune phase from birth that allows all of the new body and soul’s resources to develop in readiness for their full knowledge to be restored at soulmorphosis. Analogous to metamorphosis in butterflies where the adult emerges from a completely different life phase.

13The Spargan Mind network uses warpnodes across Spargar empire space that collect messages at light speed from information systems local to Spargar colonies, like the space station off Saturn serving the Sun galaxy and the planet Earth campaign. The warpnodes then warp space to send the messages near instantaneously to all other warpnodes that required the attention of other Omeyns in that particular community of interest. For reliability and efficiency warpnodes break messages down to small packets and send them as fast batch. Dawn of Gaya could message to similar effect with their warpwaves, which modulate a super long wave across warped space. Spargar were confident theirs was the most effective approach for messaging. They were unaware that Dawn of Gaya could also send individual souls across the galaxy across the same warpwaves. Warpwaves did not break down the message across the wave carrier but sent it analogue; critical to preserving not just the accuracy of the message but for the integrity of spirits travelling solely-soul.
