Stephanie just laughed as Nicolette handed the phone back to Stephen. ‘I’ll call you later. Be safe.’ He ended the call and pocketed the phone before drawing Nicolette up with him. ‘I love you,’ he said again, pulling her into his arms. ‘Let me pack up my gear so we can get out of here. Now that I don’t have to worry about luring you to my home under false pretences, I can hardly wait to actually hold you without all this extra padding.’
Nicolette laughed, happier than she’d ever been in her life.
Stephen cupped her face in his hands and pressed his lips to hers with absolute wonderment and conviction. Finally, he’d found the place where he belonged and it was here, in Nicolette’s arms.
‘So do we need to discuss business or is this a real date?’ she couldn’t help teasing.
‘No business,’ he declared emphatically. ‘Definitely no business.’
‘Then it’s a date.’
