‘Unless you can think of something better to do,’ Chloe teased playfully.

Dan reached up and his large, scarred hands cradled her breasts. He bounced them in his hands and he grinned up at Chloe.

‘Oh I think I can think of something,’ Dan said with a smirk. He raised himself up until his mouth closed on Chloe’s left nipple.

Chloe’s hands linked at the back of his head and she pressed his mouth tighter to her swollen nipple.

Dan started to suckle and Chloe moaned.

‘You’re right, this is so much better.’

  *****

Later after Dan had finished milking Chloe and long after he had almost choked her with his cock and after he had brought her to a crescendo of climaxes they lay entwined on the motel bed.

Chloe ran her hand down the ridges of Dan’s abdomen.

  ‘So, who is next?’

‘Stephen Moore, a college student, one year away from graduating top of his class.’

Chloe rested her chin on Dan’s chest, she looked up in to his face and she saw the swarming doubts swirling across his features.

‘He’s on the list baby, he has to go right?’

  Dan nodded his head.

‘Yes he does. He graduates college and within three years he’ll be working in the white house, two years later and he’ll be on the President’s Staff, the year after that he’ll…’

  Chloe gently shushed Dan.

‘It’s got to be done Dan, too many lives are depending on us.’

‘I know but it doesn’t make it any easier.’

Chloe raised her hand to Dan’s face, she softly stroked his cheek.

‘I should have been with you this last year.’

Dan’s hand curled around Chloe’s wrist and he pressed his lips to the palm of her hand. He shook his head.

‘No, you had to stay with Grace and we all agreed that I’d be able to move around easier on my own.’

‘Well, I’m with you now, two more Dan and we can go home to the ranch, to Grace, to our friends.’

‘I know, seeing little Grace is the only thing that’s keeping me going.’

Chloe’s free hand squeezed his balls.

‘Is that all?’ Chloe asked, her eyes twinkling.

‘Well, that and…’ Dan pushed down on Chloe’s head and she took the hint.

Dan closed his eyes and he let out a small moan when he felt Chloe’s lips envelope his swollen glans.

  ‘Gee-zus I’ve missed your mouth.’

Dan laughed when Chloe’s teeth pressed against the delicate flesh pressed between her lips.

‘Oh-kay, oh-kay, I missed your wonderful ass too.’

Chloe lightly nibbled and Dan laughed.

‘You know I missed you too Chloe so quit teasing and get swallowing.’

Chloe popped the head of his cock from her mouth and she grinned up at him.

‘I love it when you get all masterful.’

Dan’s hands grabbed a handful of her long black hair and he forced her face down towards his cock.

Chloe stretched her mouth wide and she took his hardness deep.

‘Don’t stop until my come is shooting down your throat.’

Chloe mumbled something unintelligible and Dan laughed.

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN.

Chloe looked out through the window, her gaze on the western horizon where the first of the bombs started to fall, they spread a fire that eclipsed the sun.

She pressed her fingers against the glass and she could already feel the heat against her fingertips. She looked down at her opened shirt and sweat was already beading on her bare breasts.

More bombs fell and the explosions ripped down the mountains. Her mouth fell open as she watched the concussive wave of explosive force shredding trees as it spread outwards.

Chloe pressed her palms to the glass and she started to scream in warning.

The fire spread and the concussive wave washed towards the ranch tearing apart all in its path.

Tears were streaking down her face as the paddock was torn apart and she screamed until her throat burned when her horses vanished in a flurry of fire and blood.

Chloe could feel the skin on her hands starting to bubble as her skin blistered from the intense heat. Chloe looked down in to the yard and Grace was waving up at her. Chloe started to pound on the windows, she didn’t even notice the smeared blood on the glass as the heat started to melt the skin from her bones.

  ‘Grace!’ Chloe screamed.

Grace was looking back towards the ranch and Chloe spotted Dan running to scoop his daughter in to his arms.

They caught fire as the concussion wave hit them and Chloe’s screams echoed throughout the house.

Chloe watched as the skin started to melt from her husband and daughter’s faces, she watched as their eyes cooked from the heat.

Chloe lost sight of them as the fire consumed them and then the shockwave hit the windows.

Chloe roared in agony as glass shards pierced her face and chest and then the fire consumed her.

  *****

Chloe bolted up in the bed. She was drenched in sweat and there was a terrible wetness between her thighs and beneath her naked buttocks – for the first time since she was four years old she had wet the bed.

Chloe swept her hands back through her soaking wet hair and she let out her held breath.

‘Those last two names are dead motherfuckers,’ Chloe whispered in the darkness of the motel room

Chloe realised that Dan wasn’t in the bed next to her and she threw the thin duvet from her.

Chloe got to her feet and she staggered towards the bathroom door.

Chloe noticed a strip of light at the base of the bathroom door and she pushed down on the door handle.

Chloe pushed the door open and she saw Dan standing beneath the shower.

Chloe sat down on the toilet and started to pee.

Chloe was almost finished when Dan spotted her. He swept the shower curtain aside and concern washed over his face when he saw the state of her.

Dan started to step out of the shower but Chloe shook her head.

  ‘Stay there, I’m about done.’

Chloe didn’t bother to wipe between her legs. She got up and staggered in to the shower and Dan’s powerful arms enveloped her.

Chloe started to cry and she said, ‘I’ve seen what you’ve seen Dan.’

Dan didn’t need to ask her what she had seen, the terrified look on her face was answer enough.

‘We need to finish this baby, those motherfuckers need to die.’

  Dan nodded his head.

Chloe stepped fully beneath the powerful spray of water and she tilted her face up to the cascading hot water.

‘I love you Chloe,’ Dan said as he started to soap her breasts.

  ‘I love you too.’

‘We’ll get this done Chloe, one way or another we will stop it.’

Chloe’s eyes settled on his and the burning look that she gave him sent icy shivers up his spine.

‘I know, even if I have to kill them with my bare fucking hands, they’re dead-fuckin-meat.’

  Dan chuckled.

‘You know, you scare the shit out of me at times.’

  ‘Sometimes I scare myself.’

‘We’ll finish up in here, grab some breakfast at the diner across the street and we’ll be in Washington before dawn.’

  Chloe nodded her head.

  ‘Sounds like a plan.’

Chloe turned around and bent over. She braced her hands against the wall and pushed her ass back in to Dan’s groin.

Chloe looked back over one shoulder and she grinned up at Dan.

‘I need you to stick that massive cock of yours in my ass, and baby?’

  ‘Yeah?’ Dan asked.

  ‘Don’t be gentle.’

  CHAPTER SIXTEEN.

Stephen Moore never saw it coming. His death was quick and painless and considering th
e millions of lives that he would have had a direct hand in ending Chloe felt a little cheated. Chloe would have preferred it if Stephen had suffered.

They’d waited for Stephen to finish with his last class of the day and then they had followed him on foot until an opportunity presented itself.

The opportunity came when the young student slipped in to a public men’s room. A quick look around the area and neither of them could see any CCTV cameras, not that the presence of “Big Brother” would have stopped them.

‘You keep an eye out,’ Dan said.

Chloe nodded her head but Dan could see her disappointment.

Sometimes she really does scare me, Dan thought.

Dan followed Stephen in to the public restrooms. He spotted the student standing at a urinal at the far end of the toilet block.

Dan walked past the open cubicles – they were empty.

  Fate’s on my side.

Dan slipped the pistol from the back of his jeans and he quickly attached the silencer.

Dan silently worked the slide and thumbed the safety off.

He stepped up behind Stephen and without thinking he raised the pistol.

At the very last moment Stephen must have felt something because he started to turn his head.

  Dan pulled the trigger.

The front right side of the student’s head exploded against the white porcelain walls.

Dan stepped back as the student’s body started to slump.

Dan put two more shots in to the back of Stephen’s head.

Dan turned around and walked back to the entrance. He didn’t bother with the spent cartridges, there would be no finger prints to be found on them and the rounds were homemade. The authorities would never trace them.

Dan unscrewed the silencer and returned it to his pocket. He safetied the pistol before sliding it back in to his jeans.

Chloe smiled when Dan stepped out of the toilets.

‘Did you hear anything?’ Dan asked.

  Chloe shook her head.

  ‘Just muffled thumps.’

  ‘Let’s get out of here.’

‘Relax Dan,’ Chloe said, she linked her arm with his and she smiled coyly.

‘We’re just a regular couple out for an afternoon stroll.’

  *****

Two hours later and they were heading west in the Mustang.

There was one final name to deal with.

  One last kill.

It would be the hardest of them all.

It would carry a heavy price.

Together they headed west, neither of them knowing that their days together were nearing an end.

Only one of them would live to see their daughter again.

  CHAPTER SEVENTEEN.

Tile stood with Michael at the top of the concrete steps. They both looked down at the six foot square hole in the ground and the steps that led down in to the subterranean refuge.

‘The last of the contractors finished up this morning,’ Michael said.

Tile, making the most of Beth looking after Grace for the day, lit his fourth cigarette of the morning. He took a long pleasurable drag on the Marlboro.

‘You think we’ll need this place?’ Michael finally asked.

Tile shrugged his broad shoulders. He wiped the sleeve of his denim shirt across his forehead.

‘If all goes to plan no, but like that old saying goes “I’d rather have a gun and not need it than…”. Dan said they only had the general left and he should be taken care of very soon.’

‘It’s a lot of money for a secure underground compound if it’s not needed.’

Tile chuckled, ‘I don’t think they’re worried about money.’

Dan had told Tile that as far as money went there was an endless supply, Tile had never asked how come and Dan had never explained where the wealth came from.

‘It’s got six rooms, solar panelled generators, back-up gennies that are powered by Kerosene. There are over a thousand gallons of that stuff in underground tanks. Water filtration system, a heating system that’s out of this world, food and supplies for a decade, there’s a tunnel that leads to an underground paddock with false sunlight to help shit grow, a waste disposal system...’

Michael took a breath before continuing. By the time he was finished with all the details they had started to walk back towards Dan and Chloe’s ranch house.

‘Not to mention the arsenal that’s down there, if we had to we could hold off an army for years.’

Tile nodded his head. He’d seen the arsenal in person, the weaponry it housed was nothing short of terrifying.

Tile flicked his finished cigarette away and lit a fresh one.

They sat down on the porch steps.

‘When’s the funeral?’ Michael asked eventually.

Tile turned to hold Michael’s gaze.

  ‘Tomorrow.’

‘I hope they make it okay,’ Michael said.

Tile nodded his head in agreement.

‘I hope so too,’ he replied but even to his own ears his words sounded hollow with falsehood.

Tile silently cursed Archie and what the Architect had told him.

  Tile said a silent prayer.

He hoped that Archie was wrong.

He knew it was a false hope.

Tile finished his cigarette and lit a fresh one.

‘Grace’ll smell them on your clothes and on your breath,’ Michael said with a chuckle.

‘I know, I’ll change before she gets home, and I bought a stronger mouthwash.’

  ‘She’ll still know,’ Michael laughed.

  Tile smiled in reply.

‘Don’t I know it,’ he said.

  *****

  CHAPTER EIGHTEEN.

The funeral was in full swing, over three hundred mourners were in attendance to see the dead laid to rest.

Their target, a four star general stood in the front row nearest the open grave as the minister read from a well-thumbed bible.

From a quarter of a mile away Dan and Chloe watched. Both of them held expensive binoculars to their eyes as they scanned the throng of graveside mourners.

Dan and Chloe were beneath a small grouping of oak trees, headstones were neatly laid out beneath the trees’ canopy and a small wooden bench was pressed in tight against the nearest tree. Dan figured it would be a nice spot to sit and visit with one’s buried loved ones.

Dan and Chloe had a perfect line of sight all the way to the general and the crowd gathered at the open grave.

‘This won’t be easy,’ Chloe said.

‘No, it won’t but this is our only chance. After the service the general will be returning to an army base by helicopter and well…’

‘We can’t storm a military installation.’

  ‘Exactly.’

‘There are a lot of armed men in that crowd.’

  ‘I know.’

Dan wished that the cemetery had been overlooked by a building or at least a hill but the landscape was as flat as a table-top all the way to the horizon. He wouldn’t be able to make a long distance shot like the one that had ended the congressman’s life.

Chloe lowered her binoculars and she turned her head to glance across at Dan. Like her he was using a marble headstone as cover.

‘Make the shot from here and we’ll hoof it back to the car.’

Dan nodded his head. The problem with Chloe’s plan was that their car was parked a quarter of a mile away back behind them. They had parked as close to the cemetery as possible but it was still a long way to retreat once Dan had dealt with the general.

Dan lowered his own binoculars and he smiled at Chloe.

‘I’d leave it for another day but we don’t have much information about the general’s future plans.’

Dan had tried to break in to the general’s computer files but the military’s security had beaten him. He had also tried hacking in to other governmental sites in the hope of learning something about the general’s schedule but aga
in the security had thwarted him.

‘I say we kill the motherfucker, we’ll use the headstones and trees for cover. If we have to we can lay down suppressing fire as we retreat, we’ll do it in stages, one covering the other, we have the fire power for it.’

Dan had had similar ideas. In theory they had a damn good chance of making it back to their car without getting caught or killed but Dan knew that life had a way of fucking things up.

Dan had had a bad feeling about this one since the very start but he knew the general was their top priority. The general would become President in six years and it was the general that would start the end of the world. It was the general’s thumb that pressed the button that would launch the first missiles. After those first missiles were launched it was game over.

  ‘Dan,’ Chloe said.

Dan looked up from Chloe’s crotch, for once he hadn’t been looking at the glistening slit revealed beneath her short skirt - he’d just been lost in his thoughts.

  ‘Huh? I was just thinking.’

Chloe pouted and let her knees fall open. Squatting as she was she now showed him everything.

‘Are you saying my cunt has lost its appeal?’

Dan chuckled, despite their current predicament he couldn’t help but feel the first stirrings of arousal.

‘No, I was just thinking about the general, we need to kill him and we need to kill him today.’

Chloe could see captured in Dan’s eyes the mirrored reflections of her own fears.

  ‘But?’ she asked.

‘But I don’t think we’re getting out of this one.’

Dan’s words hung in the air for several seconds.

  Chloe slowly nodded her head.

‘So we abort, we’ll try again in a couple of years,’ Chloe replied and she could hear own escalating fears and she hated herself for feeling so cowardly. Despite her self-disgust she pushed on.

‘We’ll just go home, we’ll get him another day and…’

  Dan was shaking his head.

‘Yes, we’ll go, we’ll see Grace,’ Chloe whispered, she knew she was pleading now and the first of her tears were falling.
