About the Author
Chris Adams was the driving force behind folk rock band String Driven Thing who made two cult albums for the Charisma label in the early seventies. Fronting the band with his wife Pauline, they toured extensively in Europe and the States with stablemates Genesis, opening for them on their US debut in New York City in November ’72.
When the challenges of life on the road and bringing up a young family proved too difficult a balancing act, they returned to their native Glasgow, where Chris opened a recording studio and began to make a living as a songwriter.
In the nineties he reformed the band with his sons, Mervyn and Robin, and they are still active on both live and recording fronts. He lives in Glasgow, Scotland.
