  77 Mr. Jeremiah Golden was helped greatly during his early days by being the nephew of Major General Sir Patrick Reeder, K.C.B., V.C., D.S.O., M.C. and Bar, details of some of whose career as a member of the British Secret Service—to which he was seconded in the rank of captain from the Rifle Brigade—is recorded in: THE REMITTANCE KID and THE WHIP AND THE WAR LANCE.

  The only reference Edgar Wallace was allowed to make, giving a suggestion of the true state of affairs at first hand, was on Page 53, RED ACES: quote, ‘This lady is Mrs. Grible of my Department,’ he—Mr. Reeder—said gravely.
