Hometown Girls: Reunion (Hometown Girls Series Book 2) Page 11

by Tressa Messenger

I’ve been thanked by a few people from my hometown in Pamlico County, North Carolina for bringing Pamlico out to the world, so to speak, but really it makes me so happy to be able to incorporate those beautiful areas of my home into my stories. It was something I told myself I wanted to do before I even began to write my first book.

In all of my books I tend to put personal touches in them; memories, people, places. It’s always fun when someone asks me if those things really happened or if one of the characters are real. My answer is always, "To a point, yes." This one is no different, even the sexy aspects.

As always, I want to thank my wonderful family, Eric and Brennan, for always being so patient with me. I owe so much of my life to the both of you.

I also want to thank my editor, Amber Clark for editing this book for me so quickly and never letting me off easy.

I feel the need to thank my own mom, Nancy Hager, as I usually do. She is such an amazing person. Raised by her dad and eldest of four, she grew up with humble beginnings and still ended up on top. She proves to me every day that anyone can do anything they want with dedication and hard work. I am beyond proud of her and even more proud to know that I am so much like her.

I want to thank a new friend who had come into my life at just the right time, fellow author Devyn Dawson. She has showed me the path I need to be on and I am so thankful for all of her help. That friendship extends to my girls in the YA At Heart Book Club, Daniele Lanzarotta, Natalie Kroll, Crystal Cattabriga and Devyn Dawson. You girls are awesome and I appreciate you all so much.

Most especially, I want to thank my readers. There may not be a lot of you out there right now and I’m not delusional enough to think that I will become known overnight. I intend for that to change one day. For now, I am happy to simply share this passion with all of you. Those of you out there who have stood beside me since my first book, I promise I won’t forget about you or let you down.
