  Shame was a powerful motivator.

  “All that’s behind us now,” Hank’s business partner Travis said, clapping his buddy on the shoulder. He still looked like a young Richard Dreyfuss, just a little less young, and a little more fat. “Onward and forward, I always say.”

  “Onward and forward!” Brandon Tran agreed, raising his beer at the grill.

  Steve cleared his throat, waxing philosophical. “My dad used to say, ‘There’s no such thing as a good man, only men who try to be good… and men who don’t try at all.’”

  “I’ll drink to that,” Hank said thoughtfully.

  They all did.
