pounding the mud with backside of her fist, her voice echoing the sentiment, the truth throughout the encampment. “I planted the explosives. I detonated them. I’m responsible for killing 154 human men, women and children!”

They all left Trinity to her tears for a few minutes, a few hours, who could say after a time. After her shrieks finally reduced themselves in volume to mere sobs, the other woman said, “I believe this is your defining moment. I know you’re hurting, Trinity. My heart aches for you. But if you tell Magistrate Jonas the truth about what has happened, we, the strongest of the recessive universes will fall and force the Dominant Trinity to repeat the same actions in her Window. This breech will endure and expand. The future of the Dominant Earth will be permanently altered to one of war and genocide, while all of the recessive universes will venture out to their private destinies, likely as slaves to the Centauri Empire.”

The rainbow of lights and colors peeking under the door caught Trinity’s eye again. “What is this room?” She finally asked Blair.

“I call it a nexus of sorts; a bunker in the worlds of Science and Evolution in practice.” The woman said. “A serene little piece of universe designed to aid all of us here in the encampment pass into nonexistence easier, less painfully, if and when the linear Window reverts back to where it should be.”

Get away from here, kiddo. You need to think. Get way from here while you still can.

Trinity got to her feet, but before she cleared the encampment completely, she heard Blair calling out to her over the approaching storm. “There is room for you, Trinity. There is always room for you...”

THE NEXT MORNING, under an ever darkening sky, Jonas returned for Trinity as he’d promised. He reported to her that Amadeus specialized team found and extracted contraband, bombing materials, as well as the governor’s personalized residue all over several estates on Alpha Centauri, including Rainier’s private property. Amadeus’ daughter had been mysteriously expelled from The Awakening and sent home. None of the Earth sites they had visited during this trip had betrayed a trace of the residue. In one instant in time, the magistrate’s investigation had concluded, all in her favor as long as she held her tongue.

In One final, epic twist, Jonas handed her a data pad showing where Amadeus had signed an executive order reassigning her to the surface for a new work assignment, and he attached something else a great deal more personal. Trinity, I wasn’t lying when I said I believe your daughter is still alive. I owe you a debt of honor, and this is how I choose to repay it. I grant you the use of any Centauri resources to restart the search for your missing child if you so wish. You have returned my precious daughter to me. Perhaps I can do the same for you.

Perhaps God had sent this as a sign that he’d blessed her mission after all.

AFTER JONAS departure, in this Recessive Earth’s final hour, Trinity stood atop the steepest hill overlooking the encampment and the wasteland of Philadelphia behind it. Grief overwhelmed her. She mourned for them all—the old man from her childhood; the hundreds of Earth people she’d sacrificed to save billions more; Magistrate Jonas of Proxima, who she’d betrayed to a life away from his family; she even felt for the Governor of Artemis who’d she’d once have murdered without hesitation or conscious. And yet, I mourn for you the most my dearest, Solaris. I don’t know if you are dead or soon will be, but I want you to know mama always mourns for you the most.

Spectacular cherry and plum distorted cloud like creations rumbled overhead, while thick bolts of lightning struck the surface miles away, but the tsunami drew closer with every passing minute.

Trinity had succeeded. The breech had been sealed. Their window was collapsing upon itself.

She even stole a moment to mourn for herself, only thankful that the Dominant Trinity—who she would never meet—would soon live on with her own Solaris wrapped in her arms, practicing law, living her life in blessed peace.

Finally, Trinity sprinted down the steep hill as Armageddon rushed to greet her Earth. She found the narrow entrance lowering her in the bowels of the encampment, angling to move in the direction of the room with the rainbow of lights and colors peeking through the cracks under the door.

It was time for her to embrace Windows.

It was time for her to sit in fellowship with the woman in her dreams in the relative comfort of the Nexus.

It was time to light one final candle.

And Trinity knew she was through waiting.
