He wrapped his big arms around her and hugged her small form to his body. "Aye, Elvina, thou art forgiven, but heed me well – thee will be on thy best behaviour tonight."
She pulled away a little and looked into his eyes. "I will. I promise."
At supper, both Cynwise and Elvina were made to sit on their seats without the added comfort of a cushion to remind them of their misdeeds. Cynwise shifted uncomfortably and whispered to Elvina, "This is so unfair."
"Mayhap, but we are not the only ones in discomfort. See the way Claudette doth shift on her seat? Methinks her father hath reprimanded her, also, and I cannot say 'tis not deserved. Although, I would like the Lady Helena to get a taste of the strap! She might keep her opinions to herself then."
Cynwise giggled. "That, I would like to see."
"What dost thee two whisper about?" Arthur asked, leaning over, his look suspicious.
Elvina's eyes widened guiltily but Cynwise quickly covered for her. "Naught, Arthur. We were just speaking of the wolfhounds and how their antics make us laugh."
He raised an eyebrow and gave a low, "Hmm," in disbelief, but, thankfully, the servants arriving with desserts diverted his attention.
Elvina sat through the rest of the meal, doing her best to be polite and entertain their guests, Arthur's firm presence leaving her no choice but to be good. She was thankful when it was finally time to retire.
Lying in bed, snuggled under the coverlet, she watched whilst her husband disrobed, unable to stop her eyes roaming over his muscular body. She settled on his manhood and smiled when she saw he was thick and hard with arousal. Her eyes shot to his, a wicked gleam in their depths and, throwing back the covers, she knelt up and pulled off her nightgown, leaving her body bare to his gaze.
