Blue Moon Page 10

As I take a seat at the table, Angus puts his hand on my knee and smiles sadly at me.

  “He will be ok.”

  “How did you know?”

“Dallah spoke to me just now, and I can feel how worried you are, just take a deep breath Zara, all will work out.” He tells me in a whisper. I can feel how angry this all makes him, but he also feels how desperate I am to get this over with.

With him having faith in me, gives me the strength I need to get through this. I’m so proud of my Vampire Warrior for his restraint, with Richard’s grinning face taunting me with the shameful performance I have ahead of me. Angus stiffens beside me, witnessing the exchange between the Prince and myself, the feeling I get off him, is he wants to kill every man and woman within reach starting with Richard.

“Thank you Angus, for not flipping out, I think you need to take a deep breath too,” I tell him with a cheeky smile, making him snort a laugh. I know that Parrise will be angry as hell with Dallah and me, but I will cross that bridge when it comes to it. I want this night to hurry up and end, I’m not sure when Richard wants me to humiliate myself by kissing him, and I sure as hell am not going to ask. Then there is this surprise!

“Do you know what Richard is up to?” I ask Angus quietly.

“No, but I have a feeling that you won’t like it. Zara, he will not hurt you, not with me and Dallah with you now, so whatever it is we will take it on together.” He tells me, then kisses my cheek before getting up and speaking with Dallah’s cousins, as Richard has his eyes boring into us the whole time we sat whispering to each other. Richard gets up from his seat with a sneer on his face as he takes the seat Angus just vacated.

“Are you looking forward to your surprise Zara?” He mocks.

“No.” I say plainly and look away from him.

“You should, I’m thinking I will give it to you before you kiss me, oh and Zara, make this one count, Dallah’s life depends on it!”

“Are you really so desperate that you have to bribe the girls into kissing you?” I ask with disgust.

“Oh little Zara don’t pretend you didn’t enjoy last night’s kiss, I could feel how aroused you were. That’s the real reason you were in my room, to beg me to take you, wasn’t it.” He tells me putting his hand up to touch my cheek. I knock his hand away from me, as I lean into him and speak with pure disgust.

“You’re pathetic, I would never look at you like I do Parrise, I would enjoy kissing your kiss ass servant more than I would you!”

“Zara, dance with me?” Theo asks from my side. Thankfully interrupting before things got heated, as I was close to losing it with him. Leaning back from Richard and standing with Theo, he puts his arm around my waist as he turns me away from Richard. As we get into the crowd of dancing people, Theo takes me in his arms as we dance. Tonight there is a woman who sings beautifully to songs I have never heard, but they are just as lovely, and there is a band behind her, not my kind of music, but then, this is not my kind of place.

“Thank you,” I tell him, knowing he will understand, that I’m thankful to him for getting me away from Richard before I head butted the bastard.

“Where is Parrise?” He asks looking around the room.

“He’s gone.” I tell him with a sigh, as I feel dreadful for having Dallah freeze him.

“Ok angel.” He says with a sweet smile.

I feel awful, with the lies I keep putting on Theo, after all he has done for me. I think that it is time I let him in; he has showed me that he is trustworthy, and I really do trust him.

“Theo, I know Parrise and Angus, I have known them since I arrived from England. I’m sorry I have lied to you, after all you have done to protect me,” I tell him with shame.

“I know you do angel, I have always known that you were all friends. I wanted to wait for you to trust in me. I will be at your side Zara, and the Princess’s, as long as you need me,” He tells me sweetly, making my heart swell.

I believe him too, he is a Warrior in his own right.

Theo is an Alpha of his pack back at home, and is in an ongoing battle with ‘The Brothers’’ pack, who's Alpha is Sallack.

He is strong, wise and I have found out for myself, a selfless man, a loyal, trustworthy man.

We have been dancing and laughing until Laura decides to walk up to us throwing a seductive smile at Theo.

“Hey, how about you drop the garbage and pick up a diamond?” She tells him with a laugh, trying to make out she is joking, but we know she is deadly serious. Theo laughs aloud as he puts his face only inches from her with me still in his arms.

“Fuck of little Witch, Zara will fuck you up, then I will eat you if you come up to me and talk shit about her again,” He tells her with the stern face.

“You are both dirty little dogs anyway, fuck you!” She tells us looking at me up and down, she then puts her hand out to pat my head as if I am a pet dog. This is when all the anger is being built up this evening comes to the surface and I crack, and she finds herself on the receiving end of the hardest punch I’ve ever landed, straight to her chin. We watch her fly a few feet in the air and land into a group of Vampires. If she had been human I’m sure she’d be out for the count, but no! This nasty little witch manages to stumble to her feet, with one thought on her mind, to kill the human, she rushes at me snarling, her hands held to her side as if she is conjuring up a spell, just like that Witch Karen did when I was in Theo’s arms. Theo pounces on her in Wolf form, knocking her to the floor as he stands over her growling fiercely while snapping his jaw in her face, making her flinch and concede.

“That went well didn’t it Laura?” I say as I lean down to speak to her.

I’m sick to death with people thinking they can speak to me and treat me like shit, because I’m not one of them. I will show them all that I don’t have to be a Vampire, Werewolf, or Witch to handle myself. I have courage to stand up to these men and women.

Theo takes this time to change back to human form, he jumps off her and straightens his suit jacket before taking my hand in his and walking us away from a seething Laura. The funny thing about that, is that not one person batted an eyelid to the whole scene.

“We make a good team, let’s go find Richard?” I say jokingly. However, he doesn’t answer me; he pushes me behind him, while standing in fighting mode and growling at someone so loudly I feel like my ears are going to bleed.

“What? What is it?” I ask in a panicked tone.

  “Stay there angel!” Theo shouts.

“TAKE YOUR FUCKING HANDS OF HER!”

  “Sallack!!!”

What is he doing here? I push past Theo and run as fast as my legs will take me, as I land in Sallack’s large welcoming arms and hug him tightly as he picks me up.

  “You ok beautiful?”

“What are you doing here?” I ask as I look him in the eye, confusion and worry clouding my vision.

“Richard invited us here for the Bonding.” He tells me before he places a kiss on my lips.

  “Us?” I ask in shock.

“Yeah the Brothers’ are here with me, look.” He points to the Brothers’ that stand at the front of the open doors to the ballroom, looking dark, dangerous, and bloody gorgeous. I slip out of Sallack’s grip, and run to them and throw myself into Den’s arms, hugging him with all the love I have for him.

“Is this real?” I cry into the crook of Den’s neck.

“Yeah babe,” He tells me as he lifts my head and kisses my lips just like Sallack did. I hug all the Brothers’ tightly in turn, overwhelmed with joy to be seeing them well. Just as I go to speak, I hear an almightily crash. Whipping my head around, Theo and Sallack are in Wolf form fighting viciously. My head whips around to face the Brothers’, they stand watching them fight, making no move to stop them.

“Ruk! Stop them!” I scream at him, as he holds me in front of him so that I cannot move and safe from harm’s way.

“No, you can’t get in the way of Alpha’s in a battle.”r />
I fight to get out off Ruk’s grip, when Den also holds me back. While fighting them for release, everyone goes quiet as Dallah voice booms through the room.

  “WOLVES!”

Sallack and Theo fly in the air away from each other as they shift back into their Human forms, landing on their feet at separate ends of the room. Dallah and the Brothers’ rush to Sallack to calm him down, while I run to Theo, who sits covered in blood and a few Vampires closing in.

Falling to my knees, I take hold of him and move his hair from his eyes with shaky hands.

“Are you ok? What were you thinking? God, are you alright?” I ask him while holding his face in my hands. The Vampires move in closer, from the irresistible smell of Theo's fresh blood.

“Fuck off,” I spit at them angrily wanting them to take me seriously, which they do, as they all take a step back.

“I’m good angel,” He tells me whilst standing to his feet and looking straight at Sallack across the room with rage.

“You’re lucky today Sallack, but I will kill you!” Theo shouts at him fiercely.

“Never, you are no match for me pup!” Sallack shouts back.

“Theo, please stop. Sallack is a good man.” I tell him, needing him to believe me.

“How can you say that, he broke your heart, then comes here and fights with me?” Theo asks with a frown.

“ZARA GET HERE NOW!” Den shouts across the room making me jump.

Theo shifts into his Wolf again, and as he goes to leap across the room at Den, I jump in front of his Wolf and kneel on the floor holding him tightly with all the strength I can muster, looking at him in the eye and holding his face, I speak gently to him,

“Theo they are my friends, please don’t fight them, too much has already happened.” I plead with him, as he growls and snaps his jaw. I beg him to calm down and listen, trying to soothe his wolf. His sharp teeth so close to my face, snapping and snarling. I’m feeling terrified, but more so for Den if Theo attacks him, the Brothers are shouting at me to step away, fearful for me. Finally, he calms and loses the feral look, staring across the room with a final growl just before he shifts to human form. Standing up to see the Brothers’, I only just notice that everyone who was dancing and enjoying the evening are now circling around us all, with looks of excitement, hoping to see the two Alpha’s fight to the death.

“Come with me?” I ask Theo as I take his hand. He walks over to the Brothers’ willingly and with no fear, as we stop in front of them, they growl in disgust.

“Theo is not the man you think he is.” Sallack snarls.

“Please for my sake, just stop this for one night Sallack. I know you don’t like each other, but I need you to put your differences aside for now. Sallack please for me?” I plead with him, and turn his face to look at me rather than Theo.

“What are you doing with him? Are you his?” He asks with rage.

“No, I am no ones.” I tell him sadly, making him sigh and hold his hand out to me, which I gladly place mine in.

  “Anything for you beautiful.”

  “Faithfulness?” Theo spits sarcastically.

“Please, this is hard enough,” I say to Theo as I spin to face him with tears brimming in my eyes. He looks at me with sympathy, before he nods his head to the Brothers’.

“Ah, you came, how wonderful!” Richard says with sarcasm as he walks to stand in between us all.

“Yeah, brilliant,” Sallack tells him with annoyance.

“Well, shall we have a drink now that we are all friends,” He says raising his eyebrow at me. Den comes behind me and laces his arm around my chest as he speaks to Richard,

“Yeah, it’s a party isn’t it?” He says to Richard calmly, which is a little worrying.

“And you are?” Richard asks, knowing who he is.

  “He’s mine.”

Everyone looks at me with a raised eyebrow as I slam my hand over my mouth. What the fuck was that? I didn’t mean to say it, the words literally jumped out my mouth.

“Thanks babe, you heard her, I’m hers.” Den says proudly, making me snort a laugh.

“Make it count Zara!” Richard whispers to me before he walks across the room and to the table we were sitting on earlier. I turn to them all once more, whilst still in Den’s arms.

“Den, this is Theo, Theo this is Den,” I introduce them as everyone else knows each other, or should that be, hates each other.

“Sup man?” Den says as he puts his hand out to Theo. Theo looks at Den’s hand suspiciously, while putting his hand in his with a firm shake.

“Den.” Theo says as a way of greeting.

“Come on, Angus and shit...I will be just a moment, Dallah can you help me with something?” I ask her, while she stands only an inch away from Julian. I need to get Parrise and explain to him that the Brothers’ have arrived.

“Yeah, you guys go up there. We have a new and very powerful Vampire joins us, his name is Angus, I’m sure you will get on well.” Dallah tells them as she kisses all their cheeks as a hello. With every man and woman watching us, we need to make them think that Angus and Parrise are not our friends, but Richard's allies.

Dallah and I run out into the hallway, away from the eyes and ears of Richard and his men, and there, Parrise stands with his back to us.

“Should we have left him out here?” I ask Dallah as we run to him.

“No one can see him, I made sure of it.”

Ok, that makes sense. I wanted to keep Parrise under the spell, but now with the Brothers’ here, I’m a little afraid that he is the least of my worries, as well as the Brothers’ will be extremely suspicious of Parrise whereabouts.

“I’m going to leave you to it Zara,” She tells me looking to Parrise and me.

“Ok, I’ll be quick. Hey, you might have to hold off Den, when the time comes for me to kiss Richard,”

“You bet, I’m proud of you for showing Laura not to mess with you, that power is coming along nicely,” She tells me with a wink as she turns and walks back down the hallway, she twists her hand to the side, and Parrise is released.

“Never, do, that, again!” He tells me angrily, but not in a frightening manner, thank god.

“Richard brought the Brothers’ here just now, Theo and Sallack just fought as well. So you need to calm down, keep the Brothers’ calm, and just let me do what I have to,” I tell him with authority.

“Nice try! How can you expect me to stand and watch you kiss him?”

“I know it will be awful Parrise, trust me I know. He isn’t the man that I want to be in the arms of, kissing,”

  “Who is little one?”

“You,” I tell him as I close my eyes, not wanting him to see the mix of hurt and anger.

“Show me, love?” He says, taking me in his arms.

“Parrise now is not the time. I need you to promise that you will leave me to do this!”

“Love I don’t think I can stand by watching! You give him what I dream of,” He tells me with his voice laced with pain.

I put my arms around his neck as he lifts my body so that I can place my lips to his, as I kiss him with everything I am, and all the love I have for him, I suddenly feel Dallah in pain, not emotional, but physical.

“We need to go, hurry!” I tell him as I pull him to run with me, and before I have time to take in what has happened, we are standing by the doors. We push the now closed doors open with might, as they smash against the wall. Looking around the room, I see Dallah at the top table. I take off running toward her, and then I see Richard standing in the middle of the floor chanting something, we lock eyes, and the bastard winks at me, he then returns his focus back to Dallah.

Dallah is sitting at the table with her head in her hands, writhing in pain, and I can feel how scared she is. Running as fast as I can up to Richard, I pull up my dress as I jump onto him and wrap my body around his. As soon as my lips take his, I feel Dallah free from Richard’s power. Pulling Richard even closer to me, I deepen the kis
s, needing him to know that I am giving it my all. He grips my butt with one hand, while the other hand holds the back of my neck pulling me close and devouring me. I hate him so much, but at this moment, but I want him to so badly, to just throw me down and thrust into me, owning me until I beg for release. Slowing the kiss down as it turns from hungry lust fuelled, into a softer more passionate kiss. Richard moans at the same time I do. I don’t love him, far from it, but on the outside, he is perfection, just as I’m meant to see him. This is the curse of being the Charmer, to feel the heightened lust of these men, the Warriors. It is shallow, but I have no say in what my heart wants, I might enjoy the kiss, but it’s all it will ever be a kiss! No love, no friendship.

The change in the kiss is mesmerizing, the demanding kiss is now soft and smooth, sensual, our lips mash together, as our tongues caress, and I can taste the whiskey he was drinking earlier as it burns my tongue. His grip on me loosens as the feel of his soft hands glide over my body making my blood tingle. I uncontrollable run my fingers through his silky hair as my nipples tighten due to the friction of his chest pushed into mine. We break the kiss slowly, now looking at him in the eye as I catch my breath. What was that about? What have I done! Have I ruined everything?

He looks at me with his head tilted to the side; I still have my legs wrapped around him, and his arms around me, when I finally look at the people surrounding us. They stand with open mouths as they have their eyes glued on us. Slipping down his body with my eyes downcast in shame, I try to breath, but it’s as if my airways are blocked. My gaze lands on Dallah, and we share a look of worry and upset. Never before has a kiss ever felt this way, it was lust unknown. My eyes fill with tears as my heart beats rapidly; I need to get out of here, away from him, I need to think straight.

I turn to walk out, when Richard's smooth hand catches mine and he gently tugs on it to make me turn to him.

“Zara?” He asks, wanting me to explain what just happened.

“Get off,” I tell him through teary eyes, but I will not let them fall, never will he see me weak.
