“I’m yours if you want me Ruk. I see the way you look at me; do you see the way I look at you?” I ask him in a sexually charged tone.
“I do,” He says and pulls back to look me in the eye again.
Gently biting on my bottom lip, I look over his chest as desire to have him builds in me.
“Don’t look at me like that in here beautiful, not surrounded by these horny monsters,” He tells me in a sexy rumble.
“Take me to your room so that I can look at you in private then,” I tell him with a mischievous twinkle in my eye. He locks eyes with someone across the room, and a frown appears on his handsome face. Looking over my shoulder to see who it is, I see Den at a table full of women who are all over him.
“What?” I ask Ruk, wondering why his expression and body language has changed so dramatically.
“Den’s not happy with us dancing together.”
“So?” I ask while running my hand down his back to lie on his firm butt.
“He is putting me off, I can’t think straight with him in my head,”
Ruk and the Brothers’ can speak telepathically to one another. I’m not sure I would like that or not; I would definitely like to listen in to their conversations though. As I look at Ruk, I can see he is talking to Den telepathically by the way he is getting noticeably angry, so putting all my energy to tapping into Ruk’s head, my eyes widen when he speaks but doesn’t move his lips.
“Fuck off Den, or I will come over there and fucking eat you!
Oh shit, I can actually hear him! He even sounds sexy in my head. Suddenly Ruk’s eyes catch mine as his mouth opens slightly.
“Did you just communicate with me telepathically?” He asks sounding thrown off.
“If you mean like this then yes, I did,” I speak to him telepathically, and a huge smile forms on my face. I cannot believe I did it!
“You can only hear me?”
“Yes, now will you tell me something dirty?” I ask playfully, wanting to see the smile back on his face, which comes back straight away.
“You are so special Zara, how could you even want to think of me in this way,” He asks in a depressed tone.
Taking his face in my hands, I look at him with a smile.
“Ruk, I desire you with my whole being, look around, every woman has devoured you with their eyes. You are perfection, and I have you as my protector, do you know how that makes me feel. I truly feel safe and I can’t look at you without my heart beating rapidly, or my blood tingling with desire,” I tell him needing him to believe in every word that I say.
“What about our chosen ones,” He asks.
“Are they here now?”
“No,” He smiles at me.
“If you want me to stop, I will,” I tell him stressing the importance of it.
“Never,” He tells me with a growl.
“Take me to your room then,” I tell him through my mind.
“Zara, can I speak with you?” Angus asks, standing at our side, breaking the passionate haze Ruk and I were in.
“Yeah, sure,” I tell him waiting for him to speak.
“Not here, somewhere quiet,” He tells me before looking over his shoulder.
“Let’s go outside,” I tell him whilst reluctantly removing myself from Ruk’s strong arms. Taking Angus by the hand, we head out the back doors and into the gardens.
“What’s wrong?” I ask a little panicked, whilst Ruk stands bedside Angus with a frown.
“I overheard Richard telling his men to search for ‘the book’ he said ‘if it isn’t found, rip apart every room in the palace’, we need to get it back sweet,” He tells me in a stressed tone.
“Shit! I need a few more hours just to go over it one last time?” I tell him in a panic.
“It will look suspicious if you leave now and then the book is found. Tell me where it is and I will return it.”
“No! He will think the same of you! I took it, I will put it back.” I tell him.
“What’s going on?” Dallah appears before me looking anxious.
“Richard knows that someone has the book,” Ruk tells her.
“Damn it. Do you know the words Zara, to perfection?” She asks alarmed.
“Yeah I think so, but I need to have one last look at it,” I say pulling at my hair in frustration.
“Ok, we will go up together, have one last look and then return it. I will get Den to keep Richard occupied, they have been getting on well,” She tells us sadly.
“No way! You two are not going alone! I will come with you,” Ruk tells us stepping forward.
“I will come also,” Angus declares.
“Wait here!” Dallah tells us as she transports herself away.
“How did he know the book was gone? What if he finds me with it? I could put us all in danger.” I tell them in a panic.
“Sweet, it will be fine, we will get it back safely. I know the book belongs to you, but now is not the time. It will be in your hands again one day, I promise,” Angus tells me sweetly, bringing a smile to my face.
“We have one hour, Den is taking Richard out of the ballroom to speak privately. Ruk tell the Brothers’ that we will be back in an hour,” Dallah tells him with authority, now standing at our sides.
Ruk nods his head to Dallah, and after a few moments, he takes our hands with a nod of his head, telling us that the Brothers’ understand.
When we are all transported to Dallah’s bedroom, I rush over to the bed, throwing the pillows and blankets off in a rush to get my hand inside the mattress to pull out the book.
Holding it in my shaking hands, I push all my need into it to open on the correct page. Suddenly the book shines brightly in my hands and the pages start to flap, then drop open to the page containing the very spell I need.
Scanning though every word while reading it aloud in my head, Dallah’s gasp stops me in my tracks.
“What! Are they here?” I ask looking at the door.
“Goddess! Sorry, no, carry on. It’s just your eyes, they're glowing a purple color, wow, I have never seen anything like it,” She tells me while looking at me in awe.
Rolling my eyes at her playfully, I gaze at the book again, as I carry on from where I left off.
“Ok, let’s go, I got it,” I tell them tapping my head and shutting the book after 50 minutes of standing on the spot reading along with the words at least twenty times.
As we all take hands, we are once again transported by Dallah. Walking through the library with only the moonlight to guide us, I step up to the column of books where I first found it. I want to put it back, but I feel I should keep it with me, it does not belong to Richard, it belongs to me.
“Go on beautiful,” Ruk whispers to me gently, as his chest presses into my back and his familiar scent calming me.
With the comfort of him being so close, it gives me the strength to place the book back on the shelf.
“We need to go, now!” Dallah hisses, throwing her arms swiftly round us, and transporting us away from danger.
Finding ourselves standing with the Brothers’, who look at the four of us with surprised expressions, I look to Dallah questioning her silently.
“Richard’s men were outside the door, and they will be back here any moment, so mingle,” She tells me with a nod of her head, needing me to do as she asks.
“What are you up to?” Sallack asks, looking at us all in turn.
“Believe it or not, but we are getting ourselves out of trouble,” Dallah tells him in a serious tone.
“Yeah, better be,” Sallack tells us with authority.
“You got it Alpha,” I tell him, winking as I walk out of the circle of big bad wolves and straight to the table for a much needed drink.
Filling my glass up with champagne, I knock the lot back, finishing with a little shudder from its strength.
“You ok?” I ask Dallah when she appears at my side.
“Yeah I’m fine, but I want you to do something for me?”
“Go on?” I ask.
“Speak with Den; I think he needs you sweetie?” She tells me sadly.
“Really, he needs me? So what about when I needed him not turn his back on me?” I ask her annoyed that she would ask this of me.
“I know he was out of line, but I’m worried for him,”
“Damn it Dallah! Don’t you get it, he doesn’t need me anymore, he has made that crystal clear. I won’t stand and listen to the spiteful things he has to say, my heart can’t take it, the look of hatred in his eyes.” I tell her knocking back another glass of champagne to calm my nerves, as we were so close to being caught with that bloody book.
“I will ask nothing else from you,” She asks in a plea.
Signing loudly, I turn to find Den, and there he is standing with Richard, laughing with him.
Giving Dallah one more sigh, I turn back to the direction of Den and walk up to him slowly.
“How are you Den?” I ask him, while trying not to look at Richard whose eyes I can feel boring into me.
“Good, you?” He asks with a small frown.
“Yeah great,” I tell him, and with that, he turns away from me so that I am facing his back. What a bastard! My hands itch, as I fight the need to slap him upside the head for being such a dick!
Walking away from them as if I have not a care in the world, but inside I am fuming as I return to Dallah.
“No more favours! Ever!” I tell her a little annoyed that she asked me to do that, knowing that Den clearly doesn’t want me around him.
“I thought...” She finishes with a sigh, not needing to say anymore from seeing the anger boiling within me.
Julian comes up behind her and laces his muscular arms over her shoulders as he kisses her cheek and whispers into her ear making her smile.
“Zara?” Den speaks sweetly as he comes to my side.
“Yeah,” I say in a sigh, as I look into his brilliant green eyes now full of regret.
“I didn’t mean to upset you, it’s just that...”
“Its fine Den,” I nod my head to him while begging the tears in my eyes not to release.
“Ok, well I just wanted you to know that babe,” He tells me sweetly.
Again, I nod my head to him and bite my lip to stop it from shaking. As much as want to hate him for the way he gave up on me, I just can’t, I do love him and I always will, no matter what, but I won’t tell him, I don’t want to look weak.
“I’m going back over there,” He nods his head in Richards direction, “I...oh it doesn’t matter.” He sighs and walks away.
“What Den?” I ask him gently, needing to hear what he was going to say, I stop him by the arm.
“Its ok babe,” He tells me with clouded eyes.
Watching him leave, wondering what he wanted to say but didn’t. He stops to look over his shoulder, he gives me a breathtaking smile, I want to smile back at him, I do not want to hurt his feelings, but I cannot do it. I just watch him turn and walk away from me, something I have come accustomed to since being here.
Looking back to Dallah and Julian, they smile at me sorrowfully, before I turn on my heal, and leave them to head over to the Brothers’.
“Is he alright?” Ruk asks me almost jealously.
“I don’t know,” I shrug my shoulders.
“Ok,” He says looking distressed.
“Hey, what’s got in to you?”
“Nothing beautiful,” He tells me, then looks at Den across the room.
I can see the stress in his handsome face, so I move closely to him, pressing my body against his.
“Can I have a word outside?” I ask him with a smile.
“Yeah, come on,” He takes my hand and leads me outside, whilst people move out of his way, making room for him to walk by.
When we reach a secluded spot, I pull on his hand to stop him from walking and step up to him, putting my arms around his neck and pulling him down to take his lips with mine. He picks me up and holds my butt, while walking to our right as he pushes me up against the wall. Deepening the kiss, I can taste the beer he just drank, and feel his muscles flex against me. Peppering small kisses down his neck, I nip and suck against his smooth skin, making him moan in pleasure,
“I want you Ruk,” I tell him against his neck, as his breaths become heavy.
“I saw the look...you...gave...Den.” He says in a hurt tone, while drawing in deep breaths as my hand rubs against his hardness.
“No you didn’t, I only look at you Ruk, I only fantasise about you, and what I want you to do to me,”
“Zara someone...will...see...us,”
“Yeah, they might,” I tell him as I take his lips.
Pulling back, he searches my eyes before they glow brightly back at me, he spins me around and places my hands on the wall, while his knee separates my legs.
His big soft hands run up my thighs and lifting my dress up, and in doing so, my body tingles with excitement.
“No panties?” He asks in a rough tone.
“I was hoping to surprise you,” I tell him, while I feel moisture pool between my legs in anticipation.
Hearing the button on his trousers pop open causes my heart to skip a beat, knowing that I’m soon going to be in ecstasy.
When he pushes himself slowly into me, he groans against my neck, and I moan as my eyes roll back in my head.
As he moves against me, the world seems to disappear from around me as I’m sucked into a different place, all my worries and fears forgotten as passion takes us. As he grabs my hips to thrust harder into me, I bite my lip to suppress a scream. Bringing his hand forward to stroke my nub, I fall apart losing all control. A single groan from him sends my body into spasms and we explode together as one.
My legs still shaking and hardly able to hold my weight and just about to buckle under me, as he takes me in his arms and holds me in a tight embrace, crushing me to him for dear life.
“Stay with me tonight?” He asks out of breath.
“If there’s more of that,” I tell him with a seductive smile.
“You have no idea what I’m going to do to you,” He tells me with a wicked grin, and the excitement builds in me again as the hairs on my arms and back of my neck stand on end.
I do not say one more word as I transport us to his room, and push him into the chair by his bed.
We spend the night experiencing only what I could have dreamed of, as we mould our body as one, and lose ourselves in a raw passion. Finally giving into sleep in the early hours.
Chapter Fifteen
The next morning sitting with Dallah in the kitchen, she listens intensely while I tell her of the night that Ruk and I shared together; while we wait for the Brothers’ to come down to meet us.
“Wow, he sounds like a dream,” She tells me with a smirk.
“One way of putting it, I was thinking more of a god!”
“Do you think the Brothers’ will detect what’s going on with you two; Julian has already figured it out.”
“No, we decided that when we get home, we will stop messing around. It’s a fling while we are here, like a holiday romance, unfortunately.” I tell her with a sigh.
“I think he is right Zara, you will come across the ones meant for you sooner or later,” She tells me gently.
“I know, it’s just I can’t imagine finding anyone like a Ruk, he really is perfection,” I tell her with a sigh.
“Have you fallen for him sweetie?” She asks me gently.
“My heart wants to, but I can’t, I know that it would end badly.”
“What will end badly?” Mickey asks strolling in and plonking himself in the between us.
“Nothing, just girl talk. You look good today Mickey” Dallah tells him playfully.
“You know that,” He winks at her.
The rest of the Brothers’ and Theo walk in a take their seats at the table, as the kitchen staff fills the table with mountains of food, as they now know how big a werewolves appetite is.
Across f
rom me is Ruk, and to his sides are Dom and Den, Theo sits next to Den, while Sallack sits on my right and Mickey on my left, and Julian lifts Dallah so that she sits on his lap.
While everyone tucks into their breakfast, I cannot help but keep returning my gaze to Ruk.
“We need to stay together today, everyone,” Sallack says looking to Dallah and me with a raised brow.
“Um hum,” Dallah and I both mumble to him.
Taking a plum from the platter of fruit, I bite into it, and the juice dribbles down my chin; I mop it up with my finger before placing it in my mouth to suck it clean. Ruk watches me intensely with hunger in his eyes as he fidgets in his seat making me smile.
Hearing Dallah cough/laugh, I look away from him and notice I have every pair of eyes in me.
“Juicy little things,” I say with a smirk.
“Zara stop it!” Ruk scolds me telepathically.
“I can’t help it, did it get you hot?” I ask him seductively.
“Zara, not here, don’t do this to me here,” He pleads while shuffling in his seat.
“Do what?” I tease.
“Look at me like you want me on right here on the table.
“What a brilliant idea, tell everyone to leave.” I tell him truthfully, because I could not think of anything better.
“Zara!” He growls.
“What do you want to do today then?” Mickey asks everyone.
“Fuck Ruk!” I tell him with a wicked grin.
Followed by Dallah and Ruk both choking, and with that, many raised eyebrows in their directions. Realizing Dallah can hear our conversation I laugh aloud, and get funny looks from the Brothers’ in doing so.
“Dallah can you hear me?”
“Yes!” She screams a laugh.
“Stop it, everyone’s looking at us,” Ruk tells us trying to sound angry, but I can hear the laughter in his voice.
“Ok, ok, but you do look so hot, and I do want to fuck you,”
Dallah laughs so hard that everybody cannot help but laugh along with her as she has the most infectious laugh.
“Share the joke, then you two?” Mickey asks, looking between Dallah and me with a grin.
