“Um...you,” She tells him, but it comes out more of a question.
“Oh that is too funny,” I tell her telepathically, getting a scowl of her in reply.
“Ruk, I’m gunna miss you to, I might have to pop by today and see you, all of you,” I tell him seductively.
“I’ll hold you to that,” He replies.
“Why are you two looking at each other like that?” Sallack asks Ruk and me with a frown.
“What do you mean” I ask him, as there is no way he could tell by a look, surly.
“I mean every time I look at you Zara, you are looking at Ruk like he is the only man in the world. Have you been sleeping together? Were you telling the truth before?” His voice lifts higher in frustration.
“Sallack I know this is hard, but I do see Ruk as the only man in the world,” I tell him softly, hoping to calm the situation.
His eyes snap to Ruk as he stands to his feet at the exact time Ruk gets to his.
“You’re sleeping with her, you went chasing after her as soon as we broke up!” Sallack shouts.
“Sallack what the fuck! We did not break, you gave up on us! Don’t blame this on Ruk, I was the one seducing him, not the other way around,” I tell him trying hard to keep my cool.
“Why him?” He shouts, sounding hurt.
“Why her?” I raise my voice, as I give into my anger of Sallack sleeping with another woman, and breaking my heart.
“So this is revenge?” He asks with his intense eyes searching mine for the truth.
“No!”
“You want to hurt me back?!”
“No! I would never hurt you Sallack, I owe you everything, you have made me the person I am today.”
“What, sad, lonely and stuck in this place.” He asks sadly whilst running his hands through his hair.
“No Sallack, you took me and Den in, gave us a home, a family. You were my first true love and I’m much stronger now because of you.”
“Ahh fuck it! I want you to be happy beautiful, but why Ruk?”
“Because he makes me happy!” I tell him, sighing
“And you don’t want to be?” He asks sounding confused.
“I want to be, but we shouldn’t be together,” I tell him while fighting back the tears, and keeping a hold of my emotions.
“Why,” He asks, sounding sorry for me.
“He isn’t the one,” I tell him in a whisper as I take a deep breath to calm my emotions.
“No beautiful don’t do that, don’t crumble now after all this,” He tells me regretfully whilst walking around the table and taking me in his strong arms.
“You deserve someone like Ruk, and he deserves you. I have dreaded this day since I saw the look you two shared when you first met and he would never hurt you like I did.” He tells me sadly.
“It doesn’t matter, he is meant for someone else anyway,” I tell him full of sorrow.
“Fight Zara, you don’t get anything without fighting for it.”
He kisses my forehead and walks away from me.
“Sallack! I’m sorry,” I call to him.
He stops and turns his head to the side, listening to me.
“I know, me too.” He tells me with a weak smile as he continues to walk away.
Taking calming breaths, I turn to my side to speak with Ruk, but he is no longer there. Discreet eyes are on me as I stand looking at the table, trying to concentrate on something so that my tears don’t spill.
“Where is he?” I ask anyone who will listen.
“He left babe,” Mickey tells me sadly.
“Let’s go sweetie,” Dallah tells me, and takes my hand in hers as we are transported to her bedroom.
Flopping onto her bed, I cover my face in my arms. Why couldn’t I stay stronger, why did I have to tell Sallack everything?
“Zara, don’t feel bad, it was time you and Sallack cleared the air,” She tells me, while sitting beside me where I lay on the bed.
“Yeah, I know. When did Ruk leave, please don’t lie,” I ask her, knowing that she won’t want me to fret over it.
“Ahh sweetie, he left when you asked Sallack ‘why her’.”
“Great! So he thinks that I’m doing this to get back at Sallack.”
“No, Ruk isn’t like that, he won’t jump to conclusions,” She tells me in good faith.
“You don’t know him Dallah, no one really knows him. I have found out that he is not the confident, secure man we see him as, he is self-doubting. He thinks that he doesn’t deserve me, that I wouldn’t be proud to have him at my side. I would Dallah! I would give my life for just one more week with him,” I tell her as the tears pool in my eyes.
“I know sweetie, I have seen in his heart. You know him now; you know how to show him what you really feel.”
“Yeah, I just don’t know what to do anymore. I want him to know that he is important to me, but I can’t ruin what we have by falling for him, if I haven’t already.” I tell her with regret.
“I have a feeling he already knows sweetie, the heart wants what it wants. Don’t be ashamed that you let him into your heart Zara. You need to find love and be loved, just like we all do.”
“No I don’t need that; I can be strong without a man at my side.”
“I know you feel that way, but it’s only half true. When you have your chosen at your side, there will be nothing to fear, nothing will hold you back.”
“Dallah, true strength is keeping it together when everyone expects you to fall apart. I know that you all worry for me, but my strength grows from my weakness,” I tell her with need for her to listen to my words, and to believe them in her heart.
“Goddess you are strong, so strong, but I will worry for you the rest of my life.”
“How are you feeling about today?” I ask her needing to get of the subject of me.
She has told me that she is happy that the time of the bonding has come so quickly because the sooner it’s over the sooner she can be with Julian. Nevertheless, I can feel how nervous she is about it, and how she worries that something will go wrong.
“I’m ok, I don’t feel bad for what will happen to him tomorrow, he has ruined so many lives, he doesn’t deserve to live, when so many have fallen at his hand.
“I know, but I can feel you worrying about something going wrong, but it won’t Dallah, I wouldn’t risk it if I didn’t think we’d be successful.”
“Oh, I don’t doubt it Zara, I just worry for the consequences,” She tells me as I feel her anxiety kicking up a notch.
We have already decided that it is best to tell the Brothers’ what we plan to do first thing tomorrow morning. Ruk and Angus are more than confident that the Brothers’ will be happy to know that there is a plan set in motion, as they themselves are planning on ripping apart every man and woman in the ceremony.
“We can fight them, there are 10 of us to fight back, and we will have Parrise back with us,” I tell her with a comforting smile.
She looks at me with guilt flashing in her beautiful green eyes, before looking away, and changing the subject.
I don’t know what is going on with them all, but every time I mention Parrise they noticeable stiffen and change the subject. No one will answer my questions, or they do but with lies, if I find out something has happened to him and everyone has hidden it from me, I will never forgive them.
We spend the day drinking champagne, having our nails done, massages, facials, and our hair styled. As today is the last day before the bonding, Dallah and Richard will celebrate the day and night separately. So I have arranged for a hen party to be proud of, lots of alcohol, lots of loud music, and a touch of Julian. I haven’t yet found out what Richard will be doing, but I know that the Brothers’, Theo, and Angus are being quiet about it.
Chapter Seventeen
Dallah looks stunning with her hair falling down her back in soft curls, wearing a tight black dress that shows her body a little more than I think Julian would appreciate. However, she can blame it
on me, as I was the one that dressed her in it, but honestly, I think he would beg for her hand in marriage or ‘mating’ as the Werewolves call it. I am dressed in a mini dress that is covered in sparkling sequins in black, my hair is curled, and hanging loose, my make-up is applied beautifully by Dallah.
Making our way down to the ballroom, we hear the thumping of the music playing inside. We have every woman in the Dark Coven coming to Dallah celebration, only because Richard insisted on it. She knows most of them, but I think that she would rather that they wasn’t there, well, she would rather she wasn’t there, but I persuaded her to just enjoy herself, because really this is the start of her life, not the sad ending it would be if the bonding to Richard went ahead tomorrow.
“You ready?” I ask her excitedly and a little tipsy, due to us knocking back 3 glasses each of champagne already.
“Yeah, let’s do this. This is the night before the beginning of the rest my life right?”
“Damn right it is,” I tell her with a wicked grin, while swinging open the doors to the hall, and watching her face for her reaction.
“OHMYGOD!” She screams and faces me with a look of shock.
“You like?”
I have decorated the hall this afternoon with the help of Dallah’s cousins. There are around 30 round tables scattered around the dance floor, all with fabulous cocktail fountains sitting on the tables, filled with alcohol, there is a DJ playing Dallah favourite music and the lights are off leaving only the colourful flashing lights.
“It’s like the best night club ever!”
“That was the plan,” I tell her with a wink and pull her along by the hand.
Every Witch, Vampire and Werewolf, comes over to greet her, she reluctantly stands and talks to them not wanting to be rude.
While I stand at the cocktail fountain filling my glass, my mind slips back to Ruk. I haven’t seen him all day, and when I went to see him at his room, he was nowhere to be found. I want to explain to him what happened, but more than anything I want to show him how much he means to me, I want to show everyone how much he means to me, even if we only have 24 hours together, I will make him feel like he’s the only man in the world.
When Dallah has greeted her guests, she joins her cousins and me at the table as we sit drinking and chatting.
“Hey, your friend Den is hot,” Laura tells Dallah as she takes a seat beside me.
“Yeah he is,” She replies coolly, “So are we hitting the floor?” she asks me, turning her attention away from her cousin.
“Definitely, come on lets all go,” I shout to the others over the music, whilst pulling Dallah up by her hand.
“Yeah, alright,” Laura tells us reluctantly while standing from her seat. Laura and I have decided to let what happened between us go as we are here for Dallah, well, I am, she is here to pick up somebody much like Richard, good luck!
As we dance to the music I feel light and happy like I haven’t a care in the world and finding myself actually letting go and enjoying myself more than I would have thought possible. Being in the company of just women, and not having men here is blissful. No one is offering us dodgy drinks or grinding up against us, I think that when we get back home, I will have to persuade Sallack into doing a-girls-only-night at the club. Our lovely tranquil moment is short lived as Dallah’s annoying cousin opens her mouth.
“We should go find the men, I think I might make a play for that Ruk, the one that is all dark and mysterious, and have you seen his butt!” Sarah shouts over the music, whilst pretending to fan her face.
“Stay away from him!” I growl at her through gritted teeth, now standing only an inch away from her face.
“Oh a bit of competition, lovely. I think I know who will win this,” She tells me with confidence.
What is wrong with me, I cannot keep appearing in front of people in this way, and more confusing is that they did not bat an eyelid. When she mentioned Ruk and making a play for him, the reminder of Sallack and Mary came flooding in. However, Ruk is not mine, so I shouldn’t be telling woman to stay away, but for tonight and tomorrow, I want more than anything for him to be with me, not some nasty Witch.
“Sarah stop being a bitch, you know that Zara and Ruk are together,” Hydie tells her harshly.
“So, when has that ever stopped me?” Sarah replies her looking her sister up and down.
“Well maybe you should, you know that karma affects us all,” Hydie warns.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m going to find another drink, come on Laura,” She says and takes a very drunk Laura by the arms to lead her to the table for a top up.
“Sorry about her,” Hydie tells me embarrassed.
“No, don’t be silly, you can’t be responsible for what your sister does, but how did you know Ruk and me where...” I stop as I don’t know how to actually finish the sentence.
“Together?” she asks, which I nod at, “We heard him telling Den the other day, they got pretty heated and had to be separated.”
“Really? Did you know about this?” I ask Dallah.
“No, no one told me,” She tells me shaking her head.
“Ok. Well, thanks for that with your sister Hydie.”
“Oh no worries. Hey, by the way, the two of you make the perfect couple,” She tells me with a wink before walking back to the table where her sisters are frowning at her and not looking too pleased.
“I like her,” I tell Dallah with a grin.
“Because she said you and Ruk are perfect together?” She laughs.
“No! Well yeah a little bit, but no, she just seems so nice compared to her sisters.”
“Yeah, I know what you mean, she isn’t like them at all, thankfully.”
“No more moping, let's party,” I tell her whilst grabbing her and pulling her deeper into the now crowded dance floor.
I step outside in the gardens with Dallah, as we needed to get some fresh air, and to escape her cousins.
“I wish I were with Julian,” She tells me with a sigh.
“Yeah, I know. I wish Ruk would just let me explain to him what happened earlier.”
“Shall we go see what they're up to?” She asks with a wicked grin in place.
“Damn right,” I tell her holding out my hand.
Transporting just outside the door that leads to Richards stag do, she looks at me with a wink before disappearing, then only moments later, appearing before me flushed.
“What's going on?”
“Richard is having a lap dance, so are Mickey, Den, and Richard's merry men!” She tells me with a laugh.
“No way, let’s go in!” I tell her with a grin.
“What? No!” She screeches at me.
“Yes! Let’s give our men a lap dance, it’s perfect, I can show Ruk how much I think of him, as I wouldn’t do it for any other man.”
“I can see where you're coming from, But Richard won’t allow it...Damn it Zara!”
While she was talking, I dressed us both in silky black underwear, stockings and a small open top that has a hood to cover our faces.
“Ok now he won’t see us,” I tell her cheekily, making her laugh.
“What are you getting me into,” She asks with a raised brow.
“You are going to shake that ass, and I’m gunna shake my ass like I never have before. Hide your hair in the hood so Richard doesn‘t recognize you,” I tell her while I do the same thing.
“Oh my god, we look so hot!” She says gazing up and down my body and hers.
“Yeah we do! Right, lets transport to the other side of the door, we can then walk over to Ruk and Julian, and no one will think anything,”
“Sallack was right about you, you did take his warning as a challenge,” She tells me just before we transport inside the room.
There looks to be at least 10 girls giving lap dances, from what I can make out, as the lights are down low. Spotting Ruk from across the room, looking damn right moody, as he sits in a big chair with a glass of liquor in his hand, I quickly glan
ce at Dallah,
“Ok there they are, let’s Go,” I tell her telepathically.
“I’m right beside you,” She answers as we walk to them seductively, while keeping our heads down to cover our faces.
My heart starts to thump against my chest with excitement. As I get a few feet away from him, I see him lean back in the chair as his hand rubs the side of his chin, but I don’t let him see my eyes, not yet.
Slowly I turn from him and gently lower my backside on to his crotch. As I start to swirl and grind against him to the music, I see his hands come to my sides to grip the arms of the chair. He holds on to the chair so tightly that his knuckles turn white, and the wood starts to creek under his strength.
With a pleased smile on my lips I slowly get up and stand on my feet before I climb onto his lap, with my thighs snuggled tightly against his, I finally catch his gaze. His eyes are captivated by mine, and his breath hitches as a smile forms on my lips.
“You’re taking me to heaven baby.” He tells me in a mesmerized tone.
Swirling my butt on his crotch against his impressive size, my heartbeat accelerates to a new rhythm, a rhythm that now joins Ruk’s.
Leaning forward, I gently press my lips to his ear, feeling the shiver that shakes though his body.
“I’ll take you anywhere,” I tell him sensually before I kiss his ear lobe and pepper kisses down his neck while his fingers bite into my butt as his eyes glow a magnificent gold with purple running through his pupils.
When I hear him release a low growl, I get to my feet and place a knee carefully in between his crotch as I lean forward to him and take his bottom lip in my teeth to open his mouth before licking my tongue against his, making him instantly forget about the eyes that are on us.
“Just you and me,” I whisper on his lips, making him smile against my lips.
Keeping my back straight, I lean my chest against his face, and his tongue comes out and licks the gap between my breasts, while his hands grab a hold of my waist and he stands with me. Gripping onto his strong shoulders with need, he lifts my thighs so that they wrap around his waist.
