I leaned further into his tantalizing touch. Wanting to feel that wonderful, fleeting feeling that only he can make me feel.
I found it difficult to talk to the opposite sex.
And my stuttering and coldness towards them, keeps them away from me.
That’s until I met him.
He finds my coldness as a challenge.
We only met once, and I thought that I wouldn’t ever have to see him again, but it seems like fate has other plans for us.
With a new determination he refuses to give up on me.
Somewhere along the way I get tangled within his embrace and found myself wanting to be around him every day even if it’s just him teasing me.
My stuttering starts to disappear around him, and he finally vanquishes my anxiety. And it all started with a kiss which completely blows me away.
Who would’ve known someone as innocent as me could be seduced?

Chapter 1
Emma
Plain and boring, these are the two words to describe my work life. I’m in my mid-twenties and have no specific direction in my life. I work as a telemarketer in a dull old office with boring workmates.
I hate my job! Unlike my sisters who have fantastic work lives. My eldest sister, Eva is a famous lawyer. She’s the type that can dedicate herself to all the cases and work to defend her clients as if they are family. The middle child is Ellie, who is only two years older than me, she’s also a popular yoga and gym instructor. Ellie and Eva enjoy their job so much. Being youngest child, I was so pampered. But they both left us alone in this world, when I was only twelve. Eva took all care of us. She was only in her early twenties, but she took all responsibilities as a parent. But I still miss Mom and Daddy. Sometimes, I badly crave for that love.
Despite hating my job, there is one thing which makes my life amazing, my nightlife. Ellie and I always find ourselves at a club; we enjoy dancing and drinking. Well, I like staring at hot guys. Ellie always scolds me from time to time saying that I love going to clubs and staring at all men around without getting to talk with any. Rarely any guy tries to approach me because I try not always to keep a welcoming face. But if someone does, two things come to mind, the first thing I know is most of these men only look for one-night stands and the second thing I’m too shy interacting with the opposite sex. Oh, the irony. It’s just that when I’m in front of men, I get this unbearable anxiety. This goes back all the way to my high school days when I confessed for the first time to my first love and ended up in tears because not only did he reject me but he insulted me in front of our schoolmates. Huh…
Now I can’t even believe that I was the one who dared to confess my love to a guy. I do not know from where that boldness came from that day… Sometimes this thought embarrasses me, and sometimes it makes me laugh at my stupidity.
Eva suddenly has a love life, and Ellie has commitment issues, but she has no problem getting a guy. Then there’s me who probably will become a cat lady in the future. Being alone and shy never bothered me, but for some days, I’ve been yearning to be loved and held. Even if I yearn for it; I still can’t find it in me to walk up to any guy. It doesn’t help that a few guys approach me they tend to skip me and head to Ellie who has this alluring aura around her.
In other words, I’m unapproachable.
Hot men tend to flock towards Ellie because she’s confident and charismatic. On the other hand, I like to stick with my friends and just dance the night away.
I felt alive and rejuvenated dancing. When I’m dancing on the dance floor, all frustrations just vanish away. That is why I just love going to clubs. For shy people like me, we just blend in with the crowd, and no one is going to notice you in the dim lights.
Tonight, is the same as usual. Ellie is flirting with four guys at the billiards while I am sitting alone at the bar sipping on my margarita. My other friends couldn’t make it because of work. Today was my day off, so I planned to dance the night away. Putting my empty glass on the counter, I stood up to fix my tight purple dress.
Then, I happily made my way towards the dancefloor where tons of people were dancing alone or grinding against their partners. I don’t mind the people around me because what I love the most is when I’m lost in the sea of dancing people and the only thing I could hear is the loud beating music. Song after song, beat after beat, my body slowly blends in with the crowd almost like I am one with the group of people.
The only thing I hate on the dancefloor is men groping women. They just walk right up to you and put their hands on you like you are some object. It is unnerving, and I want to give them a piece of my mind, but the moment I turn towards them, my tongue suddenly gets glued to the roof of my mouth. In the end, I just awkwardly push them and walk away from the dancefloor.
Sadly, this night isn’t an exception. I felt an arm snaking around my waist and as if on instinct I pushed the arm away and quickly walked away without glancing at the person. I was never surprised when someone steps up to me on the dancefloor because men who do this, only want one thing… sex. Something I am yet to experience or probably never will.
I finally reached the bar without any problem that’s until someone spoke: “You know it’s my first time being rejected espe
cially literally pushing me away.” His voice was deep; it sounds volcanic over all the music and people’s laughter.
I turned around and froze where I stood, there in front of me was a strong muscular man. The fair-skinned man in front of me loomed over me with his towering height. He must be in his early thirties. He had short red hair with bangs, but they are gelled back. He had silver ice eyes which were piercing my very soul, a straight nose and lips that are currently curved upwards in a smirk. He looked like he had the biggest secret in the world.
His white button-up shirt and the slightly opened top were giving a peek into his firm chest. You could easily say that this man in front of me was too strong and I could see all the muscle even under the dim lights of the club. He was wearing black slacks and black leather shoes.
Overall, he was incredibly handsome.
I quickly averted my gaze when I realized that I am staring too much. I told you that I enjoyed staring at hot guys. I heard his deep chuckle as he said: “Enjoy what you see, kitten?” What did he just call me?
I still avoiding eye contact with him “Don’t call me kitten!” I stuttered. I could feel my face burning up with the embarrassment. My heart is beating like crazy, and my hands are also sweating. I felt uncomfortable standing in front of him as he is continuously staring at me intensely.
“But it seems like you are not only enjoying my looks but you are also enjoying the nickname I just gave you,” he said with a smirk on his face. I furiously started scratching my left wrist like it would calm down my nerves. “I… am not… enjoying,” I stuttered too much that I couldn’t form even a complete sentence in one go. Instead of trying to finish the sentence, I just turned around to walk away but before I could escape the man chased after me and quickly grabbed my wrist.
“Whoa! Slow down kitten; I mean you no harm. I just wanted to get to know you,” he said. He means he wants to get to know me in bed, right?
“No thanks,” I timidly said shrugging out of his hold and started making my way towards Ellie. Before I could reach Ellie, he suddenly pushed me up against the wall, and I just stared at this man’s silver-ice eyes. “I get it; you’re shy. I like that,” he said this looking straight into my eye, and I couldn’t look away from his. He was merely inches away from my face; he is invading my personal space. Even if he’s bothersome, I’d have to admit that his eyes are breathtaking.
“You’re too close,” I timidly said, but it’s like he can’t hear me.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
“That’s none of your business,” I said sternly, but still it’s like he couldn’t hear me again. I was nervous from the inside, but I tried this expression not to come on my face.
“Are you alone? Do you have a lover?” he kept asking one question after another. Can’t this guy take a hint? But I think, I should shut my mouth because it seems like he has turned deaf.
Suddenly, he caught my attention when he asked: “If you’re too shy then what are you doing here at a club?” Something inside of me wanted to answer this awkward question, but I just went mute.
“I know the perfect way to get rid of this shyness of yours,” he slyly said as he started leaning closer and closer towards my face. My heart felt like it is about to beat right out of my chest. I couldn’t move nor say anything it’s like he froze me with those icy eyes of his.
Music and chatter in the background suddenly faded, and the only sound I could hear was the fast beating of my heart. Next thing I know his lips were upon mine. It was a short and sweet kiss, one that was bursting with innocence but all I could feel was nervousness and embarrassment. When he pulled farther to smile at me, he leaned back down to press his lips against mine once more.
My whole body was tensed when he finally made contact, my eyes were wide as saucers, and my lips stood still. One of his hands snaked around my waist pulling me closer to his strong body while the other hand buried itself in my hair as if pushing my head to deepen the kiss.
Unexpectedly, I felt his tongue swipe over my lower lip catching me off guard which made me gasp. He took the right moment to insert his tongue into my mouth. My very first kiss got lost to this man. Not that I ever had a dream or a fantasy to ever get my first kiss but to lose it to someone I barely know is something entirely different.
The one thing I didn’t expect was to suddenly melt into his arms and lose myself within his moving kiss. My hands no longer hung aimlessly at my sides; now they’re gripping the front of his shirt tightly. My eyes were shut tightly as my lips move sloppily against his. Suddenly he pulled away creating a bridge of spit between our lips; I could feel that my expression was entirely in a daze as he stared at me intensely with a smirk plastered on his face.
“See? You’re not as shy now… kitten,” he said in a low voice.
Before he could speak another word or before I could lose myself again I quickly broke free from his hold and hastily made my way towards Ellie as I also promptly hid in between the crowds trying to blend in and lose that perverted stranger.
That was last week.
Ever since then, I couldn’t stop thinking about that perverted stranger. He was my first kiss, after all; my lips burn where his tongue touched almost feverish. Even after a week the feeling of his lips still haven’t left mine, is this how your first kiss would feel like? Is this normal? Are this the after effects every time you kiss someone?
I sat on my cubicle desk at work, utterly miserable after having another caller yell at me. Can’t blame them, I’m one of those annoying telemarketers after all.
“Attention everyone!” the floor manager grabbed everyone’s attention. “I want to introduce you to our new CEO. He just became the new CEO after his father retired, everyone, meet Mr. Elijah Storm.” Suddenly my female coworkers started squealing with excitement.
“Good morning all. It’s nice to see everyone working hard for the success of this company.” our new boss spoke. I quickly tensed up at the sound of his voice; it sounded eerily familiar, I have a bad feeling about this.
“It’s nice to meet you all,” he told everyone.
I looked towards the front where all my co-workers rushed just to shake hands with our new boss. Once my eyes landed on our new boss I felt as if my whole world was falling apart; my eyes grew wide as my body suddenly lost movement. What kind of bad luck is this?
Now all I want to do is sink into the ground and just disappear.
Elijah Storm, my new boss is none other than that bothersome stranger I met at the club last week.
Chapter 2
Elijah
The moment I laid eyes on her I knew that I had to make her mine. The way she moved on the dancefloor completely captivated me. I was enjoying myself in the VIP section drinking bourbon by myself after getting out of a stressful meeting.
As soon as she arrived on the dancefloor, my eyes instantly zoomed in on her like she a prey to be hunted. The way she danced and smiled to herself had me saying I want her. I want her to be mine.
My little kitten was extremely shy; I found it cute. Even with the fact that she’s beautiful and sexy. She had long flowing brown hair held in a loose ponytail. Her almond-shaped blue eyes framed by a thick curtain of lashes were filled with innocence, her small button nose and pouty pink lips made her even more captivating.
Covering her small curvy body was a short purple dress that acted as a second skin to her body made my dick twitch in excitement. Her long legs looked smooth that only made me want to trace it with my lips. Her breasts were small, but they fit perfectly on her tiny body, her bubbly butt wiggled every time she danced.
Too bad my little kitten slipped right through my fingers. Right as we shared what seemed to be a mind-blowing kiss she ran away like a frightened kitten. The dazed look she gave me right after my kiss was insane; it made me want her more.
A week has passed by, and my little kitten hasn’t left my mind since then. I’ve had a few girlfriends and a few—a little bit more women I’ve dated, but non
e of them had this effect on me. That’s why I wanted to make her mine, but she quickly slipped right through my fingers. I doubt I would ever see her again, well it’s not like it was love or something.
Ever since then I’ve also never got to get any free time, I’ve been buried underneath all my father’s unfinished work. Recently I just took over my father’s business since he just retired. Today was my first time at one of New York’s most prominent telemarketing branch. We have other companies it just so happens that telemarketing is one of them.
“It’s nice to meet you all, dear friends,” I said with a smile.
Everyone suddenly came up towards me and started greeting me and shaking hands. I smiled and greeted every single one of them. “Ms. Pierce, it would do you good to welcome your new boss,” the floor manager spoke up. “Mr. Storm, I want you to meet one of our longest and most loyal employee, Emma Pierce.” I turned towards the woman the floor manager gestured to only get tense up at the woman in front of me.
It was none other than my kitten.
I couldn’t help but curve my lips upwards into a smirk as I stared at her red cheeks, possibly embarrassed, she also avoided any eye contact. “It’s nice to meet you Mr. Storm,” she timidly said. Her voice was so low almost like she was whispering. My hands itched to touch her once more.
“It’s nice to meet you, Emma Pierce,” I told her with a smile on my face, and I leaned more towards her. I chuckled at how she fidgeted in front of me. She seemed to act just fine in front of the floor manager who happens to be a man; I wonder if it’s just me or other strangers are included as well. The floor manager laughed, and he said “Ms. Pierce here doesn’t do too well with male strangers. Surprisingly, she’s good on the phone but horrible in reality.” This earned a glare from Emma. The floor manager turned towards Emma and said: “You have to get used to Mr. Storm, he’s your boss.”
