“So... I see you recovered from last night. Did you really feel so bad that you had to get...what was the word you used...tipsy?”
“Yes. I thought you were blowing me off without giving me a chance. Figured you’d made a decision and it wasn't me. It cut me deeper than I realized. Did you find out who sent the flowers?” Dylan asked, hoping to change the subject.
“Nope. After we finish here, I am going back so I can call Shawn and see if he sent them.” Feeling like he’d just been punched in the gut, Dylan nodded. They finished eating in silence, neither willing to bring up the elephant in the room.
Afterward, Dylan and Skylar walked hand in hand back to the B&B. This just feels so right, so comfortable, Dylan thought. How can she not see she should be with me? I mean, if it’s like this after only a few weeks, I can just imagine what it would be like in a few years...hell, a lifetime.
When they walked inside, Skylar spotted Shawn standing there. When a smile spread across her face, Dylan chose to ignore it...for now.
“Shawn, I am so happy to see you.” She gave him a big hug.
Dylan wanted to rip her from his arms, but held his hand out instead. “Glad to see you made it back in one piece.”
Shawn ignored the outstretched hand. “Yes, I did. Would love to say it is good to see you, but I would be lying.”
Skylar hit his arm. “Shawn, what the fuck? Why are you being so rude?”
“What? I know you never really liked people who lived off their parents’ money. That has always been a pet peeve of yours. I mean, are they just too lazy to make their own?”
A little shaken, Skylar looked at Dylan. “Is that true?”
Shocked, Dylan glanced away. “I, um… I didn't think it was a big deal. I try not use their money at all. It's not like I am a starving artist. I am successful in my own right. Maybe you have heard of me. Dylan McAdams.”
Stunned, Skylar’s mouth dropped open. “The Dylan McAdams? The artist who has broken sales records for not only paintings, but sculptures, too?”
Turning a deep shade of red, Dylan nodded. “One and the same.”
Turning to Shawn, Skylar placed her hands on her hips. “And you…didn’t I tell you I didn’t want you to do shit like this unless I asked?”
Shawn held his hands up. “In my defense, I had him checked out when I first met him. I was only able to read the report when I went back.”
“Is there anything else either of you need to confess? Anything else you are hiding?” She looked between them. “Now is the time to come clean because once this discussion is over if you haven't spilled it, I will consider it lying.”
When neither one of them said anything, she blew out a breath. “You two tire me the fuck out. I am going for a walk. When I get back, please be invisible.” Turning on her heel, she walked away.
“Well, that went well, don't you think?” a sarcastic Dylan remarked.
“Just fucking peaches and cream. I am going to do as she asked and be invisible. Later, dude.”
Heeding her warning, Dylan also left. Damn, I wonder what she is thinking now. Is this going to come back and bite me in the ass? What a fucking dick, trying to spill shit before I could. Well, that backfired. She’s now pissed at both of us. I just hope she can see past me not telling her and we can move on. Shawn walked into his room. Fucking dickwad. Why did he have to be famous? I try to get brownie points with Skylar, but it blows up in my face. Lot of good it did having a report on him. It is all good, though. Once she calms down, we can talk.
Skylar walked through the park, fuming. Ugh…men. They don't know how to behave. You tell them one thing, but they do another. What am I going to do with them? Damn, it's cold out here. Better be getting back. They both better be scarce when I get back, too! When she got back, she decided to talk to Shawn first. Heading to his room, she stopped when she saw his door ajar. Seeing him on the phone, his back to her, she walked in and took a seat.
“I said no. If you can't handle it, get someone who can...I need to be here. Someone I care a great deal about, maybe even love, is here. No. I am not leaving…it will all work out. Call me tomorrow so I can see where we are.” Hanging up, he turned around. Seeing her sitting there, Shawn shook his head.
“How much did you hear?"
"Enough to know you are having problems at work.”
“Sky, that’s not what I am talking about and you very well know it.”
She smirked. “Okay, okay. Well, I heard you say you may be in love with me. I care a great deal about you, Shawn, but I don't know if it's love. To be completely honest, I told Dylan the same thing when he told me he was in love with me.”
“Dickwad…” Seeing her frown, he lowered his eyes. “Sorry. Dylan told you he was in love with you, but you didn't tell him you love him? Why?”
“Because I care about both of you. I am just not sure it’s love.”
“What is going on, Sky? Normally, you know exactly what you are thinking and feeling. Have we made it too difficult? If we have, I will back off so you can have some peace of mind.” Walking over to him, she placed both her hands on his cheeks, giving him a gentle kiss on his lips. Before it could turn into more, she stepped away.
“This why you have been my best friend all these years. You know just what to say. Part of my problem with you is if we go for it and it doesn't work, would I lose my best friend? I don’t want that. I never, ever want to lose you, Shawn.”
Getting up and giving her a hug, he looked directly into her eyes. “Don’t you remember the pinky swear we did as kids? We swore we would be best friends forever, no matter what. I promise. I will always be there for you. I don't want to lose you, either.” Leaning forward, Sky met him halfway. The kiss started out gentle, quickly turning passionate, tongues dancing. As good as this was, as good as it felt, Sky broke the kiss and stepped away.
“What’s wrong?” Shawn asked.
“As much as I want this, it wouldn't be fair to Dylan. I stopped myself with him, too.” Looking her straight in the eye, he asked, “When are you going to start taking what you want? What makes you feel good?” Looking thoughtful for a minute, she responded by walking up to him and pushing him back until his legs hit the bed. “You’re right. I should go for what I want. Right now, I want a cup of coffee.”
She paused for a minute, seeing his face go from hopeful to crestfallen. “But before the coffee, there is something I want more.” She slowly started to unbutton his shirt, then unbuckled his belt. Pulling the zipper down, she palmed his dick. As she drew his underwear and pants down, she kneeled, trailing her tongue from his balls to the tip, then circled it around the head. His dick pulsed, thick with need. Licking her lips, she took him in. She moved at a steady rhythm, feeling him get harder.
Pulling her hair, he moaned. “Ah, fuck. You got me on the edge, baby. But I want my cum in your pussy, not your mouth.”
Hearing that just made her suck harder, taking him deeper, moaning as she went. She felt his dick jerk just before she tasted the salty sweetness of his cum. She kept sucking until she milked him dry. His breathing ragged, he looked at her. “Not that I didn't enjoy the shit out of that, but why didn't you stop? I would have liked to finish in you.”
“Because this was what I wanted. Maybe we’ll do this again later, maybe not. We shall see. Now, let’s go get that coffee.” Seeing the resolute look on her face, he pulled up his pants and followed her to the dining room. Once they sat, Skylar looked at him. “Shawn, I have a favor to ask. Now, this will not sway me one way or another.”
“Will it send me to jail? If not, the answer is yes, no matter what it is.”
She smirked. “No. It won't send you to jail. I need you to find Ryan for me.” Seeing his mouth drop open, she held up her hand. “Wait. Before you say anything, hear me out. I need closure. I want to understand why he left like that. I know he did me a favor, but I just need to get it right in my brain."
“Are you sure that is the only reason? Say I find him and he
explains whatever he needs to explain. You won't go back, will you? Because if there is any chance of that happening, the answer is no. I already have competition. I’m not going to lower my odds by adding more.”
Taking a sip of her coffee, she shook her head. “I will never go back to him. That was a chickenshit way to leave. This is for me. I am just a little curious as to why he left. That is all it is. I need closure.”
“Well, if you are sure, I guess I can do that for you. Maybe I will even ask dickwad...Dylan for his help. He has a stake in this, too, so I think it is the right thing to do, even if I don't want his help. Why don’t you call him and have him meet us for dinner somewhere, then you can tell him what’s going on.”
“Okay. Are you in the mood for Chinese? Dylan took me to a great Chinese restaurant.”
"Sure. Sounds good." Not really, but what choice do I have? If I were to say no, she would find a way to do this on her own. This way, I can keep an eye on her and dickwad. When she called Dylan, he agreed to meet them at the Chinese place. He hung up, a frown on his face. What the hell could this be about? All she said was for me to meet them. Didn't explain why. I wonder if she has made her choice. Fuck, I hate being kept in the dark.
Chapter Ten
Once they all sat down and ordered, Skylar got down to business. “Okay. Here is what’s going on. I want to find Ryan.” Dylan sat up in his chair. “Now, Dylan, before you flip your shit, just listen. I just want to find out why. That is all. Call it curiosity or whatever, but I need answers.”
“Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, you seem to be trying to get over him. Won’t it be like ripping off a Band-Aid, opening up an old wound?” Dylan asked, concern in his voice.
“No, at least I don't think so. I can't say how I will react. The only sure thing is I don't want him back in my life.”
“Well, if you are sure…how can I help?”
“Right now, there isn't much to do until Shawn contacts his private investigator and the man gets back to us with what he finds out. In the meantime, um…” Skylar turned a light shade of pink. Looking at both of them, she took a deep breath. “You can say no to this, but I have always wanted to have a threesome. Do you boys think…?” Dylan choked on his water, spewing some on the table. “Are you serious?” he wheezed, coughing.
Shawn had spit out a piece of chicken. “What the hell did I just hear you ask?” Both of them looked at her like she had lost her mind.
“Let me explain. Shawn, you already know some of this. My sex life has always been, well...plain. I mean, pretty much just different positions, and not too many at that. I’m just curious about a few things--threesomes, light BDSM, stuff like that. Now, since you both make me see stars and forget my own name, I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.”
Both guys just sat there, dumbfounded. Finally, Shawn cleared his throat. “I don't know if I can say yes to that, Sky. I would like to because it would make you happy, but I’m not sure I can with another man. Honestly, I don't like to share.” He shook his head. He had a threesome back in college, but it was with two girls. While he enjoyed the experience, it really wasn't his cup of tea.
Before Dylan could reject the idea, Skylar continued. “Both of you just think about it. No answers right now.” Hmm, maybe I should take them back to my room and strip, just to see what happens. Oh, better yet, take them to Dylan's. More privacy. If they really don't want to, I shouldn't push. Oh, fuck it.
“Well, we can't really do anything about the Ryan situation until the call comes. What do you want to do now?” Shawn asked, trying to fill in the uneasy silence.
“Well, I have to get home to let Sheba out. You are both welcome to come over and we can pop in a movie.”
“I guess, if that is what Skylar wants to do.”
She nodded. “Sure. I want to see Sheba again. I have a soft spot for her and her slobbery kisses.”
After letting Sheba out, Dylan sat. “What movie would you like to watch? I vote for any of the Marvel movies. Love the superheroes.”
Shawn shook his head. “I like DC better. What about Wonder Woman? That movie is the shit.”
Skylar sighed. “Do you two have to disagree on everything? It is like refereeing two adolescents. I swear. Personally, I don't care what we watch.”
Finally deciding on something, they all got comfy on the couch. During the movie, Skylar started to rub their legs. Giving each other a look behind her back, Shawn jumped up. “Sky, I know what you want, but I just can't. It is bad enough that you aren't sure which one of us you want. What if he pleases you more than I do and I lose you? Please, don't ask me to share.” She looked at Dylan, who nodded.
“I am sorry. I didn't realize how all of this was affecting the two of you. I suppose I am being selfish. I wasn’t trying to be. Oh shit. I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“We know you aren't trying to be selfish. This road we are traveling…someone is going to get hurt. I just hope I still have my friend when all is said and done,” Shawn expressed, pain evident in his voice. Feeling like shit, he walked to the door and left. He needed to clear his head and regroup.
“I agree with everything he said. There is one thing he left out, though.” Dylan grabbed her, placing her on his lap, letting her feel his erection. “I want you. To feel your bare skin against mine. To have my dick inside that sweet pussy of yours.” His words made her insides tingle. She grabbed him by the hair, placing wild, passionate kisses on his face. Wrapping her legs around his torso, she whispered, “Fuck me now.” Stripping each other as they made their way to the bedroom, he growled, “I am going to taste you, fuck you, maybe even tie you up.”
“Please,” she whimpered.
That was all Dylan needed. Grabbing her hair, he pled, “Let me tie you up. Please.”
When she nodded and lay on the bed, he pulled a satin ribbon from the nightstand. Holding her hands above her head, he tied her to the headboard. Lying next her, he kissed her passionately, then trailed his lips down her neck, teasingly nipping at that spot that set her aflame, then ran his hand over her nipples, making them as hard as pebbles. He continued his way down to just above her clit, then to her inner thigh.
Groaning in frustration, she whispered, “Please.”
“Please what? Fuck you with my finger? Eat you out? Put my dick in you? Hmm…tell me what you want.”
“Please... I need to feel you inside me.”
Dylan obliged, slamming into her over and over until they both fell over the edge. Lying there, trying to catch his breath, all Dylan could think was, Damn, I love this woman. Can't push her, though. I’ve already said it and she either can't or won't say it back. Patience is not my strong suit. I want her to be mine and mine alone. Dammit all to hell. This absolutely fucking sucks. He looked at her. “Since we are so comfortable, why don’t you stay the night?” Having Skylar's head on his shoulder while he stroked her arm just felt right.
“Sorry. I can't do that, and you know why. I’d better get dressed and get going. I am sorry we can't be what you want right now. Until I get this Ryan thing straight in my head, I am not going to make any decisions.” Giving him a quick kiss, she got up, dressed, and left.
He groaned, placing his arm over his eyes. Fucking bullshit. I go from euphoric one minute to pissed and wanting to throw something the next. Is she even worth it? Every time she leaves, I hurt, not knowing if this is it. When she walks out, I wonder if I will see her again. Fuck it. I need a shower and a stiff drink...not necessarily in that order.
Looking at Shawn's door, she was relieved to see it closed. She just wanted a shower. When she entered her room, there was another flower arrangement waiting for her. She picked up the card.
Thinking of you. Shawn
That's funny. He didn't sign the first one, but signed this one. It is still sweet of him. What am I going to do? I can't keep doing this.
Chapter Eleven
Seeing Shawn drinking his coffee, Skylar took a deep breath before approaching him.
Like he could sense her, he turned in her direction and arched his eyebrow, almost as if he knew. Letting out a shaky breath, she walked over to get her own cup of coffee. She was going to need it. She walked up to his table. “Thank you for the flowers. I love both arrangements.”
He frowned. “Well, I am glad you like them, but I only sent you one. After leaving last night, you were on my mind.”
She furrowed her brows. “You didn't send the flowers I got a few days ago? The one with all my favorites?”
He clenched his jaw. “Sorry, no. It wasn't me.”
“Shawn, what’s the matter? You seem aggravated.”
"Well, let's see. I had the best blowjob of my life, with the tease of more to come. After waiting up half the night for said tease, then realizing someone else is getting what you wanted, wouldn’t you be a little upset? Don't even try to justify or explain anything, Sky. I got the message. If you weren’t more into him than me, you would have come back here instead of spending most of the night with him. Not sure what this does to our friendship. The only thing I am sure of is I told you I would help you find Ryan, and I will.” With that, Shawn got up and walked away.
