Just Chance Page 22

  Whatever.

He didn’t really need an excuse to call Hawk. If Frankie was going to be stuck at the flower shop all night, he didn’t see anything wrong with spending a few minutes on the phone to lighten his mood a little.

The number was dialed and the phone next to his ear before Frankie could talk himself out of it. And as soon as Hawk answered, there was no doubt in Frankie’s mind that he’d made the right decision. So what if it prolonged his stay at the shop for a few extra minutes. It was a small price to pay to hear that low, sexy voice that made it sound distinctly like Hawk was smiling on the other end of the line.

“I was just thinking about you,” Hawk said. “Was just about to call you, in fact.”

“Really?” Frankie wasn’t sure if Hawk was just being nice or if he really had been just about to call, but it didn’t matter. Just hearing it made Frankie smile—made his whole day, actually. “What are you doing?”

“Standing outside Chance to Bloom, hoping you’ll unlock the door.”

Frankie blinked. “What?” He cocked his head to the side as Hawk’s words registered, and then nearly knocked his chair over as he jumped up and peeked out the office door. And yeah, there was Hawk, standing on the other side of the glass front door, smiling and looking hotter than ever. “Oh my God. You’re actually here?”

“Yep.” Hawk waved, as if to prove that he wasn’t just an incredibly sexy figment of Frankie’s imagination. “So… maybe you can let me in?”

“Oh. Right.” Frankie bolted out of the office and had to remind himself not to actually run to the door. “Yeah, I can do that.”

He barely even had time to open the door and step out of the way before Hawk scooped him up into his arms.

“I hope you don’t mind me stopping by like this, but…” Hawk pulled back just enough to look into Frankie’s eyes. “I wanted to see you. Corbin’s got me doing some stuff in New York for a couple of days next week—and I’m hoping you’ll come with me—but for now I thought maybe we could go have dinner or something when you got off work?”

Frankie felt his shoulders slump a little and his smile slipped just a bit. If only he could walk right out that door and spend the rest of the night with Hawk, or could go with him to New York. He couldn’t do either of those things, though. The week would be hectic enough with Ethan and Jack coming back, plus the Flower Face-off. There was no way Frankie could justify taking the time off.

At least Hawk had thought of him, though. And at least he had wanted to spend the little downtime he actually had with Frankie.

  That counted for a lot.

“I’m really glad you stopped by,” Frankie said. “And I wish I could go to New York.”

And really… who would have ever thought that Frankie Moretti would have the kind of boyfriend who’d want to spontaneously whisk him away to New York? Well, a maybe-boyfriend. A feels-like-it-but-Frankie-didn’t-want-to-ask-and-jinx-it boyfriend.

“But…?” Hawk prompted, his arms tightening a bit and a distinct note of disappointment in his voice.

Frankie sighed, wishing like anything he could miraculously pull a “yes” out. “But… I can’t go have dinner or do anything else until I finish all this stuff here,” he said instead, waving his arm behind him to encompass the whole shop. “And there’s so much stuff.”

Hawk pulled him close one more time and kissed his forehead before finally breaking their embrace. “That’s okay, babe. I know you’re busy here. Are you hungry, though? We don’t have to go anywhere. I can just order a pizza and maybe help you out with… whatever it is you have to do.”

Frankie’s heart literally tripped, his smile rushing back in full force. How in the world was this guy so sweet? So genuinely nice? To think that Hawk would happily give up his evening to help Frankie at work when there was absolutely nothing in it for him was just… crazy.

  Crazy sweet.

  And crazy sexy.

  Was Hawk his boyfriend?

Frankie almost asked, but there was no way he wanted to spoil the moment in case the answer was anything more complicated than “yes.” And this was Hawk, who—on top of being the most perfect man Frankie could have ever dreamed up who felt like just a really hot, really sweet, nice and normal guy—was also a big time celebrity, so no matter how much Frankie hoped and maybe had sort of already started to let himself believe, the truth was that the answer might be more complicated than yes, after all.

But for tonight? He was just going to enjoy the fact that Hawk wanted to be here with him. This was real. It had to be, because the back office of a small town flower shop certainly wasn’t any sort of publicity opp.

“Unless you think I’d be in the way?” Hawk asked, making Frankie realize he’d just been smiling up at Hawk like a happy fool, instead of actually answering.

“No,” he said quickly. “I mean, yes, come to the back with me. You definitely won’t be in the way,” Frankie said, turning back toward the office and motioning for Hawk to follow. “But I have to warn you that I could really get used to this kind of treatment, so you might want to be careful.”

Hawk laughed, the low rumble making Frankie want to turn right back around and wrap himself around the sexy man who’d never failed to make him feel special, whether there were cameras around or not. He had work to do, though… so whether Hawk was with him or not, he had to stay sort of focused.

“I want you to get used to it,” Hawk said, following so close behind Frankie that Frankie could feel his breath on the back of his neck. It made him shiver… just like the sincerity in Hawk’s voice did when Hawk added, “You deserve to be treated well. I hope you know that, Frankie.”

They reached the office and Hawk stopped him, turning Frankie around so they were facing each other. “I mean it, Frankie,” he said, giving him a long, meaningful look that almost felt like it answered the “are you really my boyfriend” question all on its own.

Frankie felt his face heat up, and he nodded, wondering how long it actually took to fall in love with someone. Because he hadn’t known Hawk that long, and he’d certainly never intended to fall for him, but now… well, Frankie did know that he deserved a man who was good to him—and good for him—but he definitely hadn’t been used to that kind of treatment before he’d met Hawk. And now that he was getting used to it, it was kind of making it impossible not to fall for a guy who had no reason whatsoever to make Frankie feel like the center of his world… but did it anyway.

And Frankie had to admit, it felt pretty great.

“I…” Frankie started to say, not really sure what might come out of his mouth with all these feelings swirling inside of him. Probably best not to mention the L-word yet, though, and he definitely didn’t want to get into a conversation with Hawk about how Hawk was so much better than all the other guys Frankie had dated.

He was pretty sure Hawk already knew, anyway.

Luckily for him—or maybe just because Hawk was the perfect boyfriend—Hawk didn’t make him answer. He just planted a kiss on Frankie’s forehead and then moved past him to pick up the office phone. From the sound of it, he was ordering more pizza and salad and breadsticks than two people could possibly hope to eat in one sitting, and even though Frankie probably should have picked up some paperwork and gotten busy again, he just stood there, smiling.

He hadn’t even thought about what he’d do for dinner, but now that Hawk was making it happen, Frankie’s stomach was rumbling in anticipation. The man always knew what he needed, didn’t he? Case in point: as soon as Hawk hung up the phone, he wrapped his arms back around Frankie and pulled him close.

“The guy said they’re pretty busy tonight, so it’ll be about an hour before the pizza gets here.” Hawk’s deep voice vibrated through Frankie’s whole body, and he nipped at Frankie’s ear before adding, “So that leaves just enough time to do… other things.”

Frankie swallowed hard, his mouth going dry and his stomach forgotten. The rest of his body, though… it instantly reacted with a
warm, tingling sensation that radiated from somewhere deep inside him. He definitely wanted to do other things with Hawk. Way more than dinner.

  Like, a thousand times more.

“What, um, kinds of things did you have in mind?” Frankie asked, finally able to find his voice and really hoping that the things Hawk was thinking of had nothing to do with cleaning the flower shop.

“Oh, I don’t know…” Hawk paused to kiss Frankie sweetly. “Maybe I could sweep the floor. Or vacuum—” Another sweet, too-brief kiss. “I know how much you enjoy that.”

Frankie wasn’t sure if Hawk was talking about cleaning or kissing, but there was definitely one of those things that Frankie enjoyed much more than the other. And if Hawk thought they were going to stop doing this so they could vacuum or whatever, then he was as crazy as he was sexy.

  Or he was teasing.

  Hopefully.

  Probably.

And if not, Frankie could just maybe suggest…

“Or, ah—” Frankie gasped as Hawk’s mouth moved lower, nipping at the spot on Frankie’s neck just above his collarbone that kind of made it hard to think straight. “Or we could, um, just keep doing this?” he managed, his breath already starting to come quicker. “That would be okay, too.”

Hawk grinned, sliding his hands up under Frankie’s shirt to pull it off, then tossing it aside as he guided Frankie back to lean against the desk. His mouth moved lower, sending a delicious shiver through Frankie’s entire body as Hawk spoke between kisses.

“Yeah, we can keep doing this, babe.” His tongue teased one of Frankie’s nipples before moving to the other one. “We can keep doing this all night if you want.”

  Frankie did want that.

  All night.

  All day.

  All the time.

“Okay,” Frankie said, leaning his head back and letting the waves of pleasure start washing over him as Hawk’s mouth went lower still.

There was still a lot that needed to be done at the shop before Frankie could even think about leaving, but with Hawk’s hard body pressing against his and that generous mouth sending waves of pleasure through him, it was really difficult to remember why he’d ever thought anything but this was a priority. The only thing that mattered in that moment was Hawk.

“This is… good,” Frankie breathed out, blood rushing into his cock as Hawk headed in that direction, his lips and tongue worked a kind of magic along the way that made Frankie want to tell him to hurry down lower and not move, both at the same time.

He steadied himself with his hands on Hawk’s shoulders, forcing his eyes half-open just so he could see. Because Hawk looked hot, and the sight of his mouth on Frankie’s body was almost as much of a turn-on as what that mouth was doing.

“Good, huh?” Hawk asked, a teasing glint in his eyes as he let his teeth scrape along Frankie’s treasure trail. “So I should stay here?”

“Yeah,” Frankie said, even though he couldn’t help sort of thrusting his hips toward Hawk, too. “It’s really good,” he added, biting his lip to stop from suggesting other really good things that were just a few inches lower.

Hawk’s hands went around his ass, pulling Frankie against him as he started to suck a mark into the sensitive skin just above Frankie’s waistband, and a whimper escaped Frankie’s mouth before he could stop it as the move finally gave him a little friction right where he needed it.

Hawk laughed, looking up at him again. “Oh?”

“You’re really turning me on,” Frankie admitted, stating the obvious. “Maybe, um, we could also—”

“Yeah,” Hawk interrupted, standing back up abruptly and somehow finding a way to get both his pants and Frankie’s unbuttoned, unzipped, and shoved down around their hips before Frankie even had time to close his mouth. And then Hawk had both their cocks pressed together, his just as hard and ready and slick with the evidence of his arousal as Frankie’s was.

  It… felt… amazing.

Frankie moaned, his whole body jerking forward when one of Hawk’s big hands wrapped around both of them. Frankie’s hips thrust forward, another moan falling from his lips as he fucked into Hawk’s hand. And then Hawk took over, slowly stroking them together… leaning in to kiss Frankie again… his free hand playing over Frankie’s ass as he started to whisper sweet, dirty things against Frankie’s lips.

All of Frankie’s senses were flooded with Hawk. He could smell him, taste him, feel the heat from his body and the hard thickness of his cock as it pulsed against Frankie’s. It was sensory overload, and it was almost enough to make Frankie come undone right then and there.

“Hawk,” Frankie whimpered, knowing he wasn’t going to last long even though the rhythm of Hawk’s hand wasn’t really fast enough to get him there. It almost didn’t matter, though. It was as if the man was inside him. Inside his heart, even as he took possession of every part of Frankie’s body.

And then Hawk dropped back down to his knees and took Frankie’s length into his mouth.

“Oh my God,” Frankie gasped, a full-body shudder going through him at the sudden wet heat. “Hawk, that… that feels… so… good.”

Frankie’s voice was so raspy, so shaky, that he wasn’t sure if Hawk could actually hear him. Hawk made a rumbling sound of satisfaction, deep in his chest, that made Frankie think maybe he had, though. Not that Hawk really needed the encouragement. His hands and mouth and body were doing all the right things, as if he’d already learned each and every way to make Frankie’s world spin.

Frankie threaded his fingers through Hawk’s short hair, holding on tight as Hawk took him deeper. He was sucking in the same maddeningly slow rhythm he’d been using with his hand, building an electric heat inside Frankie that was making him crazy. Spreading hot and urgent behind his balls… up his spine… through his thighs…

“Hawk,” he panted, needing more and needing it never to stop, both at once.

Hawk looked up at him without breaking his rhythm, a hot smile in his eyes and his lips spread wide around Frankie’s shaft. Then he took Frankie down to the root, letting the muscles in the back of his throat massage the head of Frankie’s cock.

Whatever Frankie might have said—don’t stop, slow down, faster, more—was lost in a long, low moan that the move wrenched out of him. His head fell back, his eyes closing and breath coming in hard, wet gasps as Hawk worked him over.

  The sensation was amazing.

“Oh, God, oh please, yes,” Frankie gasped, not even sure wha the was saying. “Just like that.”

His hands were firmly fisted in Hawk’s hair now, and the feel of Hawk’s head slowly bobbing up and down… his tongue massaging the underside of Frankie’s shaft as he sucked deeper and longer with every intense pass… the pressure of his body, leaning into Frankie and jerking in a rhythm that told Frankie Hawk was pleasuring himself, too…

Frankie gasped, his cock throbbing in Hawk’s mouth as all that delicious tension started to reach a head.

“You’re gonna make me come, Hawk,” he warned, jerking against him. “It’s just… too—” perfect… amazing… I think I love you, “—good.”

Hawk groaned, and Frankie opened his eyes to see Hawk looking up at him so intensely that he almost wondered if he’d accidentally said all that other stuff out loud.

  But no.

He couldn’t have. Wouldn’t have. And regardless, there was no way he could worry about it now. Not with the way Hawk was making him feel like he was about to come undone any minute, and… oh God. Oh. God. Not with the way Hawk was still pinning him with those hot eyes, his free hand rapidly stroking his own hard cock as his mouth continued to work its magic on Frankie.

  He was so hot.

The sight was almost too much.

Frankie’s hips thrust forward, making Hawk moan again—a long, low sound that Frankie could feel more than hear. It traveled from the tip of his dick through his entire body, setting him on fire.

He was so close. So… close. He just needed a little more
from Hawk.

Hawk did the grinning-with-his-eyes thing again, as if he could read Frankie’s mind, but then he pulled off for a second, making Frankie whimper.

“Do you have any idea how sexy you are right now, baby?” he asked, his eyes hooded with lust and his gorgeous mouth swollen and wet and looking like pure sex.

“I… you…” Frankie gave up, shaking his head because oh God, the man was everything and he had no words. Especially not now, when he needed to come so bad.

  Needed to.

Hawk gave him a wicked, wicked grin, the heat of it making Frankie’s whole body tremble. He always seemed to know just what Frankie wanted… and just how to give it to him.

Sure enough, before Frankie could start begging, Hawk’s head dipped down again and he took just the head of Frankie’s cock into his mouth.

“Please,” Frankie breathed, his hips jerking forward.

Hawk’s hand was already wrapped around Frankie’s shaft, though, already stroking Frankie with the same quick rhythm he was using on himself. The slow, sensual rhythm Hawk had started out with was long forgotten. This was something else entirely. Something hard and fast and designed to give them both what they so desperately needed.

  It was perfect.

“Oh God, yes,” Frankie gasped, his head falling back again as Hawk pushed him to the very edge of his climax. “Yes, yes, yes.”

The orgasm rushed through him without any further warning, a hot wave of pleasure that eclipsed all his senses, that made his whole body start to shake, Hawk’s hand and mouth the only thing tethering him as he came… and came… and came. Each little eruption sent an electric jolt through his body, the pleasure amped up even higher as Hawk swallowed each one down. The pleasure dragged out in an endless series of moments that felt like they just might wreck him, and just when it finally started to subside, Hawk lifted himself away from Frankie’s cock and moaned.

Frankie opened his eyes, feeling almost drugged with the aftermath of his pleasure, just in time to see Hawk climax, too. He spilled over his hand and onto the tile floor below him, the ecstasy he was feeling etched all over his sexy face as he gasped out Frankie’s name.
