Ethan was exhausted and wondered where in the hell his woman found the energy to keep going. They’d been to four different furniture stores and had found furniture for every room except one of the spare bedrooms. “Honey what are you looking for?” He asked slipping his arm around her waist.
“I’m trying to decide if I want a big bed for the girls to sleep in together when they spend the night or if I want to put twin beds in there for them now.” It shouldn’t have shocked him when she thought of his nieces, but it did and he knew why he loved her so damn much. Unable to stop himself he turned her around and kissed her deeply not caring that the store was buzzing with people.
“I love you so much, “he whispered, “why don’t we get a queen sized bed that way they can sleep in the bed together until they come and get in bed with us.”
Regina kissed him and explained that she’d fell in love with him because of his brilliant mind and informed the sales person on which bed they wanted.
Epilogue
One year later
Regina walked into the nursery smiling. Not the least bit surprised to find her handsome husband here standing between the cribs. She knew that it would have been only a matter of time before he’d slipped away from the party. Their families had gathered at their home to celebrate the Fourth of July. “Honey everyone is wondering where you slipped off too.”
Ethan looked up and gave his wife his most charming smile. “I only planned to come up and check on the boys, but once I got up here I just couldn’t seem to tear myself away.” He confessed pulling her into his arms.
“Thank you again for giving me two beautiful little boys,” he whispered.
Regina tightened her arms around him hearing the emotion in his voice.
“You are very welcome. Now come on back down and let’s enjoy the attention we are getting. You and I both know that as soon as Aaron and Anthony wake up all of the attention will be focused on them.”
Ethan chuckled, as she was absolutely right. The twins at just a few months old were aware they were well loved.
“We can go back down in a bit. Right now I just want to hold you all to myself in the quiet.” He sat in his rocking chair pulling Regina down on his lap. As he held her, Ethan reflected on everything that had happened in the last couple of months.
Tiffany had received the maximum sentence having been convicted of attempted murder. Her mother had to be committed to a psychiatric hospital for her own good. Joe was convicted as an accessory and also given the maximum sentence. The bastard had the nerve to send a letter to Regina. She’d returned the letter unopened. Apparently the bastard got the message, since no other letters were received since.
He and his grandfather were cordial, but that was all he could offer. Frank Jr. had come to him and told him what the old man had tried to get him to do. Ethan never mentioned it to Regina or anyone else for that matter.
Regina laid her head on his shoulder sighing deeply. Lately she’d been extremely tired and she wondered if it had anything to do with her two bundles of joy. “Honey I think you need to make an appointment to the doctor.” Ethan suggested placing a hand on her stomach. Her head came up and her eyes widened. Her hands cover his and he felt a slight tremble.
“Do you think I’m pregnant?” She asked her voice filled with awe and a little excitement.
“Yes baby I do. I think we are going to be parents a second time or should I say a third time around.”
