Dark Circles Page 30

by Derek Fee

Wilson was embarrassed. ‘I was just her boss,’ Wilson said.

‘It’s a little more than that,’ the older man said. ‘Moira wasn’t in a good place after the business with her ex-husband. Now she’s got a fine young man, and she’s off on a new adventure. It didn’t just happen by accident.’

‘Sorry, folks,’ Brendan said. ‘If we don’t move now we’ll miss our flight.’

Moira kissed her parents then Brendan put his arm around her and led her through the barrier. Wilson watched them disappear and said his goodbyes to Moira’s parents. He left the terminal and walked to the car park. He looked up as a plane took off directly over his head. He wished he were on that plane heading anywhere. He never felt so utterly alone. He was an expert at losing people, his parents, his wife, his partner and now Moira. He took out his keys and opened his car. As he sat into the driver’s seat, he wondered where the hell Sammy Rice had got to.

  Author’s note

I hope that you enjoyed this book. As an indie author, I very much depend on your feedback to see where my writing is going. I would be very grateful if you would take the time to pen a review on Amazon. This will not only help me but will also indicate to others your feelings, positive or negative, on the work. Writing is a lonely profession and this is especially true for indie authors who don’t have the backup of traditional publishers.

Please check out my other books on Amazon and if you have time visit my web site (derekfee.com) and sign up to receive additional materials, competitions for signed books and announcements of new book launches.
