Soul of the Pack Page 12

Ava silently considered what she said, and then sighed. “Then go and make her see what she has to stay here for and take the risk of becoming a werewolf for.”

  “Really?” Kyra was surprised.

“Really. Eden told me she’s camping in the forest for a few days before she makes her decision.”

Kyra threw her arms around her sister with excitement. “Oh, thank you, Ava.”

Ava gave her a smile and said, “But if she hurts you, I’ll have Xander and Nix tear her limb from limb.”

“Everything will be fine, I promise.”

Ripp sat by her campfire, prodding a stick into the flames. Her head was so full of thoughts and questions that only the flames helped to quiet her mind. When she was released from hospital, she told Caden and Lena she needed some time in the outdoors to think, and now she couldn’t stop thinking.

Storm lay opposite her across the fire, looking sorry for himself. It seemed he missed Lena and Kyra. “Hey, buddy, I miss them too, but I’m not safe for Ky just now.”

She was racked with guilt for biting Kyra, though Caden explained it was normal for wolves, but they usually waited until their mating ceremony. Still, she had bitten Ky, hurt her, without asking and couldn’t be trusted.

Ripp threw her stick into the fire with anger and frustration. All these years on her own, not knowing her family, her father, only to find out it wasn’t a family she was looking for, it was a wolf pack. She’d always felt certain there was something wrong about her, that the person in the mirror didn’t match who she was inside, and now she knew why.

But now that she had the opportunity to make herself the person that she was, why was she so scared?

She heard a noise and Storm jumped up and spun around with excitement. Ripp saw Kyra just above the camp. Her mate, the woman she loved.

Storm ran and greeted her. Ripp stood as she walked down to the camp.

“You shouldn’t be here,” Ripp said.

Kyra looked hurt by that comment. “Why? Because you don’t want me here?”

“No, no, because I’m dangerous. I could hurt you again,” Ripp said.

Kyra stopped in front of her and put her hands on her hips. “How are the scratches on your chest?”

Ripp wasn’t expecting that question. The scratches had been deep and a little painful since. “Uh…okay.”

Kyra sat down on the log beside her and surprised Ripp by pulling down the neck of her T-shirt. She then pointed to the bite and said, “You see, we both hurt each other. It’s part of foreplay. Well, technically the mate bite comes after the mating ceremony, but it doesn’t matter. Besides, you might be a dominant female human, but I’m a wolf, and I wouldn’t let you hurt me. So stop feeling guilty or I’ll bite you.”

Ripp didn’t know quite what to say except, “Okay. I guess.”

Kyra smiled. “Good, if you just agree with me, we’ll get on well. How do you feel?”

Ripp ran her hands through her hair. “All right. Dr. Jaycen gave me a shot to calm my wolf’s urge to shift. It won’t last forever, but he said it would give me time to decide what to do.”

Kyra took her hand. “Ripp, I don’t want you to feel pressured into any decision. If you want me, then I’ll leave with you if you don’t want to change.”

Ripp couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “Want you? Are you crazy?” Kyra’s smile waned. “Of course I want you. I just want to be everything you need.”

Kyra shuffled closer and whispered in her ear, “What do you think I need?”

Ripp couldn’t take her eyes off Kyra’s lips and wanted to kiss them so much.

She gulped hard and hoped the doctor’s shot would hold, because she was so turned on. “You need a strong wolf to look after you and protect you.”

Kyra smiled and stroked her fingers down Ripp’s shoulder and grasped her bicep. “I think you’re covered in that department. Anything else?”

Kyra’s lips were now just a few inches from Ripp’s. “I need to be wolf enough to give you cubs in the future, like Caden and Lena.”

“I’m sure we can have fun trying.” Kyra pressed her lips against hers.

All her worries, her guilt, her feelings of inadequacy seemed meaningless. All that mattered was Kyra and touching her.

Ripp threaded her fingers through Kyra’s beautiful, soft blond hair and kissed her back. Kyra moaned when she took control of the kiss and ran her tongue along her lips, and inside her mouth. It was deep, passionate, and full of need.

“I missed you so much, Ripp,” Kyra said.

Ripp kissed her nose. “You too, Wolf.”

Storm barked twice and sat panting beside them. They both laughed, and Kyra ruffled his ears.

  “You too, Storm.”

Just then there was a big rumble of thunder, followed by some big spots of rain.

Kyra jumped up. “Oh, let’s go running in the rain.”

Ripp looked at her quizzically. “In the rain? We’ll get wet.”

“That’s the best bit.” Kyra winked and pulled off her jacket and top, leaving her only in her bra.

Ripp’s eyes were glued to her breasts in her lacy bra. Kyra walked over to Ripp and pulled her up by her hand.

“I know we have a lot to talk about, but for now, let’s just be together.”

Ripp put her hands on Kyra’s waist. “Or just stay here? It’s warmer in the tent.”

Kyra giggled and grabbed Ripp’s T-shirt. “Take this off.”

What Kyra wanted now dawned on Ripp. “You want…”

She nodded and traced her fingers over the paw tattoo on the back of Ripp’s hand. “You may not be able to shift, but you’ve made your own painted wolf under your clothes. I’ve wanted to see all of it.”

Ripp immediately took her T-shirt off and Kyra gasped. She couldn’t help but touch Ripp. Her black ink tattoos told the story of who she was. A wolf who was desperate to get out. She stroked Ripp’s breasts and hard nipples, then the scratches she had made. Kyra growled softly, happy that her mate was marked as hers.

  “You’re so beautiful, Ripp.”

Ripp pulled her close and said, “Do you do this with every wolf you run with?”

Kyra smiled and stepped back to slip off her jeans. “No, I told you. There’s been no one. I’ve been waiting for my wolf.”

Ripp’s hungry eyes were glued to Kyra’s body, and Kyra wanted to see more of Ripp’s. “Take off your clothes, baby.”

Ripp kicked off her jeans, and Kyra saw that she had wolf paws tattooed on her feet. Her body was gorgeous. Exactly like a big dominant female should be but made even more sexy by the rain dripping down her body.

  “Now what?” Ripp said.

“Now you catch me.” Kyra shifted to pelt and her wolf darted off.

As she ran she heard Ripp say to Storm, “Let’s go catch Ky, Storm, and keep her forever.”

  * * *

By the time they arrived back from their run, the rain had stopped. Storm settled down by the warm fire, and Kyra shifted back to skin and was just as naked as Ripp. Kyra growled and stalked over to Ripp.

“Do you know how sexy you look with rain dripping off you?” Kyra asked.

Ripp put her arm around her waist and pulled Kyra to her.

“Not as sexy as you,” Ripp growled.

Kyra pulled her into a kiss. The wet feeling of Ripp’s body turned Kyra on so much. She clawed the old scratches on Ripp’s chest. Ripp growled and pushed Kyra back to the tent. Once inside their kiss became frantic, and Ripp’s skin was heating up by the minute.

They fell onto Ripp’s sleeping bag, and Kyra used her strength to flip Ripp underneath her. She sat on Ripp’s stomach and leaned over to kiss her again. As she kissed Ripp, she started to rock her hips and paint wetness onto her stomach.

Ripp groaned. She could feel Kyra’s wetness, and all that mattered was tasting her. She managed to roll Kyra under her and started to kiss and lick the mate bite she’d made. She was surprised w
hen Kyra started to groan really loudly and rock her hips in this new position.

  “Is this okay, Ky?”

“Yeah,” Kyra gasped. “The mate bite is connected to my clit. It feels so good.” Kyra used her claws to scratch her back.

Ripp looked in Kyra’s eyes and said, “I’m sorry I did this too soon, but it’s what I want. I love you, Ky.”

Kyra stroked the side of her face and had tears in her eyes. “I want it too. I love you, Ripp.”

Ripp leaned her forehead against Kyra’s. She was overcome with emotion. Her claws were piercing her fingers, and her teeth were bursting through.

“Make me come, Ripp,” Kyra pleaded.

Ripp lifted her head, and Kyra smiled. “Your eyes are yellow again. Your wolf is close to the surface.”

“Yeah, even with Dr. Jaycen’s meds. We should stop in case I hurt you.”

Kyra responded by biting into her forearm in challenge. “You can’t hurt me. Make me yours.”

Ripp’s need for Kyra overcame her worries, and she began kissing Kyra’s chest, her soft breasts. They turned her on so much. Ripp rubbed her face and scent all over them. They were hers. She kissed and sucked Kyra’s nipples while Kyra moaned and pushed her head down.

“Please, kiss me lower,” Kyra growled.

Ripp kissed her way down. Kyra opened her legs for her, and there was no holding her back from licking and lapping at Kyra’s sex. The taste and scent were overwhelming for her senses. She could happily taste Kyra forever.

Kyra grasped her hair and rocked her hips. “Great Mother, it’s too much, Ripp.”

Ripp pulled back and looked up at her. “It’ll never be enough.” She didn’t know anything about sex, really, or werewolf mating, but she was following her dominant instincts.

Ripp moved back up and kissed Kyra while her hips fell naturally between Kyra’s legs. When her sex came together with Kyra’s, and they slipped into place, she knew exactly who she was.

“Jesus, Kyra.” Ripp thrust her hips, and Kyra wrapped her legs around hers locking them together. Nothing could ever feel this good. Especially when Kyra’s claws dug into her buttocks and pierced her skin.

“Make me come, Ripp. Fill me up.”

As Ripp thrust she felt a buildup in her groin that she hadn’t experienced before when touching herself. “Ky, I—”

  “Bite my mate bite, now.”

Ripp didn’t think. She just sank her teeth into Kyra’s mate bite, and then felt the pressure in her groin release into Kyra in an unbelievably intense orgasm. Then Kyra shouted out her name and came too.

Ripp pulled away from Kyra’s mate bite and collapsed on her chest. Kyra was desperately gasping for breath.

“It’s not enough, Ky,” Ripp mumbled into Kyra’s neck. “I feel like my whole body is on fire.”

Every cell in her body was telling her to touch, bite, and thrust into Kyra again. She had so much to give her lover.

Kyra pushed her back and rolled onto her front. She looked over her shoulder at Ripp and raised her buttocks just off the ground. “I’m all yours, Wolf,” Kyra said with a mischievous smile.

Ripp didn’t need to be asked twice. She followed her instincts and pounced onto Kyra. She grazed the back of Kyra’s shoulder with her teeth and growled deeply.

“Yes, bite me, Ripp. I love you,” Kyra moaned.

Kyra pushed her ass into her groin, showing Ripp what she wanted, and Ripp wanted nothing more than to thrust into Kyra. But first she wanted to taste and claim her some more.

She kissed her way down Kyra’s back, dragging her teeth along her skin, spreading her scent all over. When she reached Kyra’s fleshy buttocks, her mouth filled with saliva, and her wolf teeth erupted.

She kissed and bit softly all over, claiming every inch of her delicious flesh. Kyra groaned and raised her hips, opening herself up for Ripp, and Ripp sank her teeth into her ass cheek.

“Oh, Great Mother,” Kyra shouted, “please, take me now, Ripp.”

With the taste of Kyra’s blood on her tongue and lips, she jumped up onto her knees and mounted her mate. The delicious pleasure as their sexes came together was too overwhelming to describe. How had Ripp lived without this?”

She started to thrust and knew it would be a lot quicker this time. To take her mate from behind gave her wolf an added excitement that was hard to control.

As Ripp thrust faster, their skin slapped together, and soon Ripp leaned over Kyra’s back, her face and teeth nuzzling Kyra’s shoulder. Kyra’s hips thrust frantically in time with Ripp’s.

“I’m so close, Ripp, will you bite me again?” Kyra moaned. She was starting to lose control.

“I love you, Ky. Tell me you’re mine,” Ripp growled.

Kyra looked over her shoulder and said the words etched on her heart. “I love you. I’m yours forever.” She felt the sharp pain of Ripp’s canines in her shoulder, and almost instantaneously her orgasm washed over her. She grasped behind her to sink her claws into Ripp’s undulating ass, and then felt her jerk erratically as Ripp came inside her.

Ripp howled in pleasure and they tumbled down together.

“Fuck.” Ripp panted. “I never thought it could be like this.”

Kyra rolled around onto Ripp’s chest. What she had just experienced was something she would never give up.

“I love you, Ripp. If you have to leave, I’ll come with you,” Kyra said, trying to regain her breath.

Ripp looked at her lovingly. “I couldn’t live without you, Ky. I want to touch and kiss you for the rest of our lives. But I want to be everything a wolf can.”

“You mean…” Kyra was both excited and terrified at Ripp’s next words. She might change and be the wolf she wanted to be, but if things went wrong, Kyra could lose her mate.

“I mean I want to become a wolf. I want to be able to love you in the right way, protect you, and give you cubs. I want all that with you,” Ripp said.

Kyra caressed Ripp’s cheek. Even though she was scared, she knew Ripp would never be happy in her own skin if she didn’t change.

“I want that too, baby. We can get through this together. I love you.” Kyra stroked the dark hair from Ripp’s brow. “I’ve been waiting for you for so long. I nearly gave up, but you followed your heart and came home to us.”

“I followed your trail, Ky.” Ripp gave her the smile that first melted her heart, and Kyra kissed her.

Ripp leaned over to her discarded jeans and took a piece of paper out of her back pocket, then showed it to Kyra. It was a land deed, and it had the Alpha’s signature and Ripp’s name.

“What does this mean?” Kyra said.

Ripp smiled, pointing to the map on the paper. “All this land is mine. It was my dad’s, and now Caden told me it’s mine. I’m going to build a den, a den you can be proud of and somewhere we can always be together. You, me, and Storm.”

Kyra was overjoyed. She kissed Ripp deeply, then looked at the paper again. “A den, a den for our family?”

Ripp nodded. “A den for our family.”

“Let’s get dressed and play with Storm. He needs our attention too,” Kyra said.

Ripp nodded. “I promised him on our first day here that I’d find us a home, and I did. We found a pack.”

Kyra rubbed noses with Ripp and kissed her. “You’re both Wolfgangs now.”
