“Go try on the outfit over there in the dressing room and I will be right here waiting for you. There's a brush in there too. If you could put your hair in a tight bun for me, that would be great.” Devon couldn't help but laugh at her as she fingered the diamond, gently making her way to the dressing room.
While Jasmine was in the dressing room, he set up the camera and made sure that he had the right light in place in order to make her look more spectacular than she already was. Shaking his head, he knew that he couldn't find a better model for the job. She took the cake, she was perfect.
It took Jasmine twenty minutes to get herself together, more nervous than getting ready. It had only taken her five minutes of that.
“Are you ready?” Devon asked her, knowing that it was getting later and later and he didn't want to lose the light that he had.
“I don't know if I can come out.” She giggled, feeling her heart race as she looked at herself in the mirror.
“Of course you can, don't be nervous around me. No one is going to see you live, they are going to see pictures of you in a magazine.” Devon chuckled, reminding her that she could do anything she put her mind to.
Jasmine took a deep breath and let it out slowly. She did look fantastic without make-up and she knew that but Devon didn't tell her to put the make-up on that was in the dressing room. She frowned at it, wondering if she should.
Devon went to the dressing room door quickly and opened it up. Surprising her, he couldn't help but look at her in the mirror as he stood behind her. Jasmine looked at him in the mirror and gave him a big smile, feeling her confidence come back when she saw him looking her up and down.
“You are ready. You look really good like that.” Devon took her by her hand and turned her around. She smiled at him as he lead her out of the dressing room and out to the studio.
“I want you to sit in that chair and act like you're reading that book beside you,” Devon told her, pointing at the white chair in the middle and seeing that she picked up the book.
Jasmine thought that it was easy and Devon looked at her through the lens; he loved how her tits were formed perfectly and that there was no bra that she was wearing. The tightness of the slacks was beginning to turn him on and he closed his eyes tightly, hoping that his cock didn't get hard, he willed it to continue being soft. He did not want her to think that the only reason he brought her there that day was because he wanted to have sex with her.
Devon knew that he had to take it easy with her and be gentle when he made love to her, he didn't think of it as sex like he had with the other women on the dating show, having no idea that she had signed up. He thought that it was a lost cause and he wasn't going to ask her again. He had brought it up a few times and she declined him every time.
He took pictures of her and smiled as he did the photo shoot. He knew that they had twenty more outfits to go but he was only going to make her do five that day, not wanting to take up all her time and not to mention he had to be at Ken's studio at a certain time.
The last outfit he made her try on was a white tennis outfit with the tennis shoes. She had to wear a visor and hold onto a tennis racket sporting the new outfit. She stood in front of him with a smile on her face, she knew that the job was easy. It was easier than cleaning up the offices downstairs. She would still be at it if it wasn't for him.
He took a few more pictures of her before he shut the camera off and took out the roll of film. After his date, he was going to make sure that he developed them. They would be ready for the next morning knowing that he piled up the photos each time neatly, making sure that they were all done before he stacked one on top of the other.
“What do you want to do now?” Jasmine asked him when she got done coming out of the dressing room with her regular street clothes on.
“I was thinking that you would want to be dropped off at your apartment. It's almost four in the evening and I have to get ready myself.” Devon frowned and shook his head, he didn't want to bring up the dating show in front of her, knowing how she felt about it.
“That's fine, I knew that you had to go back to Ken's and start on your next date but I won't be watching it so that I don't get mad at you for anything. I hope that you have good night,” Jasmine told him, giving him the best smile that she could without feeling as if she was going to cry.
“Thank you for being so understanding and I wouldn't think that you would watch it tonight. I have eight dates left and that's it. Hopefully I can just say no to the one that I pick because I want to be with you. I really do.” He insisted as they walked out of the studio, and he closed and locked the door.
Devon put his arm around her shoulder and guided her towards the elevators. He wanted to comfort her even if neither one of them said a word to each other; he wanted to show her that he was there for her and that no matter what happened between the two of them, he would always be friends with her. He would always be her boss and she would be paid well no matter if they disagreed with each other or not.
“Thank you for the fun day that I had today,” Jasmine told him as they got into the car, the rain had stopped and the sun was slowly coming out as the gray clouds started parting so that the sun could shine for them.
“Don't thank me, I want to thank you for wanting to do the job. If you had told me no, then I wouldn't have a new magazine line and I wouldn't have come up with a good line if it wasn't for you.” Devon grinned, explaining to her that she was the reason he was starting a new line, one that was going to succeed very well.
Jasmine had a smile on her face from the time that they left the office to when he had dropped her off at her apartment. She didn't want to be there in front of her building; he could see the frown upon her face.
While Jasmine wasn't looking, he took out some money from his pocket, counting out the money, he folded it in half as he nudged her and gave her the wad of money.
“What is this for?” she asked him, seeing that it was a lot of money that he was handing her. She wouldn't count it until she got up to her apartment.
“I want to pay you for doing such a good job and since it's your job now, of course you're going to be paid just like everyone else.” Devon knew that the look on her face was excited for her first pay but he knew that it wasn't common sense that he paid her for the work she had done.
“See you tomorrow?” she asked him, giving him a worried look.
“I will see you tomorrow for sure.” Devon chuckled, watching her get out of the car. He didn't leave until he saw the light go on in her apartment. She didn't call him but he knew that she was in safe.
“Soon enough you're going to have enough money for a house. You will see that you're going to be much happier,” Devon murmured to himself, looking up at the building as he drove away.
Chapter 2
Devon wasn't looking forward to the next date, he knew that if he kept going that he would have to make a decision sooner or later and that wasn't something that he was ready for. There was no other woman that he wanted besides Jasmine.
He had arrived two minutes late and saw that Ken was pacing the floor with worry. Devon hadn't called in to say he was going to be late.
“There you are, we have ten minutes before show time and you decide to do this?” Ken frowned at him but he knew that it didn't matter; he was there and that's what counted.
“Sorry, there was a lot of traffic,” Devon lied to him, sitting down in the chair and seeing that Ken quickly sat down beside him.
“I haven't had the time to tell you this until now but I found your tenth date. I'm sorry but we can't wait on Jasmine forever, you know that the show must go on and I don't think that she will change her mind,” Ken told him, it was hard to keep a smile from showing on his face but he managed to do it.
Devon couldn't believe that Ken had gone ahead and set up the last date without telling him first. He didn't have any idea who it was going to be and he didn't like the fact that he hadn't been called in to see what she looked l
ike.
Devon knew that he was going on a date with Tonya, the girl with the short brown hair and the red dress she had worn to impress him. He wasn't impressed now that he knew exactly how he felt about Jasmine. He didn't want anyone else and that was in the front of his mind instead of the back.
Calvin gave them the sign that they were just seconds away from going on the air and they put smiles on their faces.
“Alright, tonight is the third date. I wonder who Mr. Sager has picked for tonight's date.” Ken gave a surprised look for the camera.
There was a slight drum roll as they paused and waited for Devon to state who he was going with that evening.
“The lucky lady is Tonya!” Devon cried out to the camera smiling at the people at home as he got up from his chair.
Tonya had her short brown hair crimped, and he didn't know how she had done it. She was wearing a white dress that was more revealing than what he thought the other women had worn, but he wasn't surprised at all.
When he hugged her, meeting her in the middle of the room, he could feel that she wasn't wearing any bra and there was a small hole exposing her belly button and the ring that was attached to it. He could see that it had been made like that. He didn't see her nipples getting hard but he knew that they would eventually.
For the first time ever, Devon didn't feel his cock growing for her. Not even a little bit, he was glad that it hadn't as he took her hand and led her to the chairs.
“Where are you two going tonight?” Ken asked, looking at the two of them. He knew that Devon wasn't impressed but it was because he had known him for so long. He knew that the only one on his mind was Jasmine and he didn't have to say it but he was a good actor for everyone there.
“We are going out dancing tonight, Ken. We are going to dance the night away,” Devon stated, keeping up with his lines and the plans that he had made which Ken approved of.
“We will see how everything goes.” Ken got up from his chair and the other two did as well. He showed them to the door and watched them get into the limo. As he turned away from the camera, he frowned and hoped that Jasmine didn't get cold feet when she was supposed to go on her date with Devon.
The dance hall wasn't too far away from the studio so they didn't have much of a drive. They talked about what she did for work and the favorite things she liked to do while Devon took her hand in his like he had done with the women before her.
Tonya put herself on his lap before they even arrived to the dance hall. He wanted to push her off of him. She was pretty but not like Jasmine, there was no one like Jasmine and she frowned at him when she realized that his cock was soft.
Tonya wiggled her ass around slightly, trying to get comfortable and she was disappointed that his cock still wasn't getting hard for her. She knew that the date was going to be a bust before they even got out of the limo.
Devon helped her out of the limo and they quickly went into the dance hall. They went so fast that Tonya almost had to run to catch up with him. He knew that he had to slow things down, or else Ken wasn't going to be impressed with the show at all. He knew that he couldn't screw anything up because it was for the reviewers at home and and he was supposed to make it real.
Devon finally got into it after a few drinks. Leading her out to the dance floor and dancing to fast songs and dancing to slow ones where they held each other close, he found himself holding her tighter against him and heard her giggle in his ear as she felt his cock finally getting hard for her the first time that night.
“I thought that I wouldn't be able to excite you at all tonight but you wanted to wait until the right moment, I see,” she murmured into his ear and pressed herself against his cock that was getting harder and harder for her.
Devon silently wished that he hadn't been turned on by her and he couldn't blame it on the drinks because it was something that couldn't be controlled. The only thing that he thanked god for was that the camera couldn't pick it up and Jasmine wasn't at home watching the show; he knew that there was nothing going on between him and the women that he picked but he knew that he had to prove it to Jasmine in order for her to believe him at all.
At the end of the night, he walked Tonya to the limo and kissed her on the cheek before he sent her away. When Tonya realized that they weren't going to have sex that night, she frowned at him, she was going to give him a bad review even if it meant that he was only being a gentlemen. She would state that he had been a great guy but expected more when they were done dancing. Letting everyone know that she had expected sex which he hadn't given to her. Surely he had fucked the other two girls, there was no doubt about that in her mind.
Devon didn't feel bad sending her away. It was the first woman that he didn't fuck and he didn't feel ashamed that he hadn't. There was nothing in the contract that stated he had to fuck them by the end of the night.
He realized that he was excited that he could tell a woman no if he chose to, and he knew that if Jasmine was to ever watch the show again, she would see that he hadn't done anything with her.
Devon felt his heart racing. As he thought about Jasmine, a smile started coming to his face but it was wiped off quickly because he thought about Ken and knew that he would be pissed that he hadn't treated Tonya like he had the rest of them. Ken knew that his heart wasn't in it, like it had been the first date that he had gone on. His heart wasn't in it at all.
Devon went home that night and didn't regret the choice that he had made. If Ken didn't like how things went then he could fire him and that would be the end of it. He would pick Jasmine either way for the one he wanted to be with so he didn't lose either way.
Devon didn't call anyone as he went to his game room that night and played pool by himself, drinking a little more than he should of because, within the hour, he had passed out on the couch with the pool stick in his hand.
It wasn't often that Devon got drunk and it was only because he was missing Jasmine more than ever now. There was nothing that he wanted more than her, the money that he had didn't amount to much if he couldn't have the girl that he wanted. As much as he loved being a billionaire and the amount of money he had in his bank account, he would give all that up if it meant that he could have her for the rest of his life.
Jasmine had counted the money that he had given her for the photo shoot and her eyes grew wide when she had counted out twelve hundred dollars. She took her head and thought about giving him some of the money back. She felt guilty for taking it and keeping it now that she knew how much was there, but she knew that he wouldn't take it back, no matter what she said to him about the money.
Once again, she put it in her freezer under the frozen meats and knew that she could start looking for an apartment, a good one on the other side of town. For the first time in her life she was moving up and she was happy with what she was doing with her life; her work was fun and Devon didn't make her feel uncomfortable. He was keeping his promise to her and she felt as if she could trust him more and more. It was the little things that made her feelings grow stronger for him. When he said something, he meant it and she had never known anyone like that before.
Jasmine looked at the apartment door, seeing the doorknob moving slightly back and forth. She didn't even make time to shut the freezer door as she rushed to the door. Thinking about Devon, she walked into the apartment. She had only locked one of the locks, the top one and it wasn't the strongest one.
Before the door could be busted open, she locked the other two dead bolts. When the clicking sound of the locks echoed through the apartment she knew that whoever was on the other side of the door had heard it too.
The doorknob stopped moving and she thought she heard footsteps slowly walking away from the door.
“I have a phone in my hand and I'm not afraid to call the cops!” Jasmine hollered out as loud as she could, hoping that someone else would catch the person going down the stairs.
She heard someone running down the stairs loudly, she didn't know how they had gotten in
but she knew that she was stupid for not locking all the locks like she always did before. Her heart was racing and she was shaking. She couldn't stay there any longer. Tomorrow she was going to go out and find a place. It didn't matter what it was as long as it was some place decent where people didn't feel as if they had the right to break into someone's apartment and take whatever they wanted.
Jasmine didn't sleep a wink that night and she didn't shut her lights off or even the television off; she needed something for the noise so that it wouldn't be so silent in the apartment, so that she wouldn't be thinking that she was hearing things.
Before the end of the night she had grabbed her baseball bat from the kitchen that was standing in the corner. She had promised herself after the night she had been attacked in her own bed that she was going to be prepared if anything happened to her, if anyone tried hurting her again, she was going to make sure that she fought back. That was the only thing that she could do, she couldn't do anything else but fight back. If she had called the cops she knew that they wouldn't get there fast enough. She knew that night of the attack that she was lucky that the police had arrived when they did, or else she would have been dead or raped, maybe even both. Jasmine felt as if her mother was there with her that night, somehow protecting her and making sure that she was going to survive whatever came her way.
“I feel you all the time around me, I feel as if you are right beside me, Mom, and I wish that I could hug you tight to me again,” Jasmine said softly, looking around the room and hoping that her mother could hear her.
Jasmine felt a soft smile come across her face and she felt a calmness come over her as if her mother was really wrapping her arms around her. She just couldn't feel it but she felt the comfort of someone being present with her.
Chapter 3
Jasmine looked at the clock most of the night, when she saw that it was three in the morning, she groaned and rolled her eyes, she couldn't wait for the hours when it was daylight again. She hoped that, soon enough, she didn't have to be alone in the apartment, hoped that something good was going to come her way and she prayed for it very hard knowing that she didn't pray that often and that maybe God couldn't hear her because she was praying for a way out, a better way of living as she clasped her hands together and closed her eyes tightly, saying a silent prayer to herself.
