“Oh my God, so after two years and thinking that he cheated on you, it was all a misunderstanding?”

“I guess for the most part yes, however, he still lied to me about where he was going and about meeting her. It hurt, but then Kinchley and Kernan came onto the scene. I was stuck in a building with Torey, and men were shooting at us, and then Kinchley and Kernan came to our rescue with their team, Sam, Paulie, you know him, Rocky’s brother,” Brook said, and Faith felt that tightness in her chest. She sure did know Paulie. He was even more intimidating than Rocky.

As Brook explained what happened, Faith couldn’t help but to blush and smile.

“Oh God, it’s so romantic. Like something out of a movie,” Faith said, and Brook smiled. “So, what are you going to do now? I mean, you’re very serious about your profession. How will they fit in?”

“First of all, no one knows right now and I’m fine with that.”

  “How about them?” Faith asked.

“Not too sure. We’re working this case together, but now the feds are pretty much taking over, and I have to see the department shrink after the shootings and all, so our time together on the job will be limited. I work in Sussex, they don’t.”

“So then you can see them outside of work and it won’t be uncomfortable?”

“I don’t know about that. These guys around here can be relentless.”

“Who cares what anyone else thinks but you, Kinchley, Conan, and Kernan?”

Just then, Faith noticed Brook’s eyes widen and Faith looked to see who she was looking at, and there were three really big guys looking determined as they headed toward them.

“Oh boy, if that’s them, I think your secret will be out,” Faith said, and Brook slid down off the bar stool just as two guys from Mercy who worked as deputies came over to join her and Faith.

“You two ladies cannot be sitting here alone,” one of them said.

Before Brook could respond, Faith heard the deep, hard tone. “Take a hike,” the one with the beard said, and the other one, who stood a few inches taller, gave the look of death.

  They immediately walked away.

“Nice,” Brook said and then looked at Faith.

“Faith, meet Kinchley, Kernan, and Conan O’Connor.”

They gave Faith smiles. “Nice to meet you, Faith,” the one quiet one said, and then looked Brook over.

“There you guys are. We’re over by the Tiki bar,” Emma said, joining them and hugging Faith and Brook hello. “Come on, Eagan, Miller, and Houston set up some tables so we’re more comfortable.”

Faith got off the stool and watched Kinchley place his hands on Brook’s hips as she walked. Those men were making a claim, and Faith could only imagine how that might feel. She had to be realistic though. Men just didn’t see her as sexy, and she was very shy to boot, except in the classroom teaching kindergarteners and talking to their parents. Why couldn’t she be more like her friends? Andrew really did have a negative effect on her, and her destiny could lay in a very lonely state.

Kinchley slid his arm around Brook’s waist as they joined her friends and their men. They noticed, and Emma, Casey, and Amelia smiled. When Kernan kissed her neck and asked her if she needed another glass of wine, she turned to look at him.

“I’m good,” she said, and he nodded. Conan stood next to Kernan and Eagan, and the conversation continued around them. She noticed Conan’s mood and, considering that it was obvious something was going on between her and his brothers, she decided she didn’t want it to be a secret. She excused herself from a conversation with Selasi, Ranger, and Kinchley and walked over to Conan. He looked pissed.

“Hey, are you okay?” she asked, stepping in front of him where he sat at the bar, holding a beer and looking her over. Kernan was next to him but sort of talking to the other men, but he glanced at them and she felt Kinchley behind her. She stepped between Conan’s legs.

“What is it? Something with the case? Torey? What?” she asked.

He shook his head. “What’s your relationship with Alex?”

She hadn’t expected that, and she was a bit annoyed and went to look away a moment and process this when Conan grabbed her hip and pulled her closer and between his legs. She held onto his shoulders.

“There is no relationship but work related.”

“Bullshit. He fucking talks like you have a personal tie.”

“No, he kisses my ass and gives kudos because he’s been after me for the better part of a year to join one of the special operation units monitored by the feds. I keep turning him down because it’s not as active as what my job is now, and it could be boring more often than not.”

“He wants you for a job?” Conan asked, shocked.

She slid her palms up and down his chest, not caring that at this point it was obvious something was going on between them.

“You know, if you want this relationship to work out, you need to ask me straight out about these things. Don’t make assumptions. We’ve been there and done that, and it doesn’t work.”

He pulled her snuggly against him, his hand over her ass in the skirt she wore and his expression intense.

  “Kiss me,” he ordered.

  “Trying to make a scene?”

“Don’t want people to know you’re ours?”

She accepted the challenge and kissed him softly on the lips. When he released her lips, Kinchley grabbed her next and kissed her hard on the mouth. She could hear the chuckles and then the low cheers, and when Kinchley released her to Kernan she accepted his dominance and control, and from there on out, all three men touched her, showed possession of her, and word spread quickly. To her surprise, her friends and fellow peers thought it was great as they offered congratulations to the four of them, and then teased the men about her capabilities. By the way Kinchley caressed her ass when her back was against the bar, she had a feeling he was going to show her who was in charge despite her capabilities.

The second they got into Brook’s house, Conan grabbed her around the waist and lifted her up and into his arms. She kissed him immediately, kept her palms against his cheek and locked her legs around his waist. He had shoved her skirt to her waist and stroked her ass. When she pulled from his mouth, he was already heading up the stairs to the bedroom. He put her feet onto the rug and started undressing her. She undressed him, but then he shoved down her panties and lowered her to the bed. She grabbed his head while he lowered his mouth and feasted on her breast.

“You’re so fucking hot. God damn, I can’t wait to be inside of you,” he admitted, lifting up and pulling off his shirt the rest of the way. His brothers were undressing, and Kernan dropped a tube of lube onto the bed.

“Together,” he said, but Conan couldn’t wait. He aligned his cock with her pussy and shoved in balls deep. They both moaned, and she gripped onto his shoulders and counter-thrust upward. He ran his hands along her ribs, being careful of her bruising, and then cupped her left breast. He pounded into her. “Fuck, I need. I need so badly, baby.”

  “Oh, Conan. Oh please.”

“We want in, too,” Kernan said and lowered down to suckle her breasts. She ran her fingers through Kernan’s hair.

“Get on the bed, Kinchley. I get her ass,” Conan stated firmly, and she felt her pussy erupt.

Conan pulled out and lifted her in the air. Kinchley lay down on the edge of the bed, legs hanging off and Conan lay her over him. She attacked Kinchley. Kissed him on the mouth and lowered her wet pussy over his cock and began to ride him.

“Holy fuck yeah. Yeah, baby,” Kernan smacked her ass twice.

  Smack.

  Smack.

Conan grabbed the tube of lube and then added some to his finger and stroked into her ass with one thick digit. She pulled from Kinchley’s mouth and moaned.

“I got something for you, sexy. Right here,” Kernan said, and she took Kernan’s cock into her mouth and began to suck him up and down as she rocked
her hips up and down with Kinchley’s help.

“Get in her ass, bro. Fuck her deep and hard so she knows who she belongs to always,” Kinchley said as he gripped her hair and pumped his hips.

“Oh fuck, Kinchley, I’m going to come just watching this shit,” Kernan said.

“Here I come.” Conan replaced his fingers with his cock, the lube making her slick and wet. He shoved into her asshole. He moaned with Kinchley, and it was on. They thrust and stroked into her over and over again. They were filled with energy, with desire and a need to fuck and claim, to mark her as their woman, and there was no stopping them. His brothers fed off his desires, and they fed off one another. In and out they stroked into every hole until they could no longer hold off from coming. Kinchley grunted and roared. Then Kernan followed as he shot his load down her throat, and finally Conan, thrusting three more times into her asshole before coming in her ass.

  “Mine. All fucking mine forever.”

Smack, smack, smack. Conan roared and then lay over her, recovering together as they all caught their breath. He eased out of her ass, and Kernan was there with a washcloth and towel. They cleaned her up, and he watched as she kissed Kinchley tenderly. He stroked her cheek and then her chin to kiss her again. He saw the love in his brother’s eyes and it affected him greatly. As she lifted up, Kernan kissed her softly, taking his time before scooping her up into his arms and laying her down on the bed. Conan washed up and then climbed up between her legs, uncrossing them for her and sliding right over her belly, his mouth in line with her breasts.

“Love you so fucking much,” Conan told her and then licked her nipple. His brothers were on their sides on either side facing her.

“I love you, too,” she said, caressing his hair and holding his gaze, and then Kinchley cupped her chin and made her look at him.

“I never felt like this before, Brook. It’s new and amazing. You’re my everything, baby. I love you.” He pressed his lips to hers, and when he released them, she smiled.

  “I love you, too.”

  “Where’s my loving?” Kernan asked.

“Right here, Kernan,” she said and pulled him closer to kiss her.

When he released her lips, he winked. “Love you, too.”

  Chapter 8

When Conan got the call in the morning to meet Alex Rourke and his partner, he was concerned. Brook was going out with his brothers and then would head to her house tonight. He would meet them there for dinner.

As he drove his car into the parking lot where Alex asked him to meet them, his gut clenched even more. He thought about Brook, and his concerns for her safety were stronger than ever. He was having a hard time accepting her position in law enforcement, yet he respected her capabilities and commitment, as well as her reputation just as other cops did. It was a fine line when being in love with the woman and knowing her job was as dangerous as his. He needed to process this and be sure not to let Brook know his feelings. They would only piss her off more.

He saw Alex and Toby, his partner, and got out of the car. They shook hands hello.

  “So, what’s going on?”

“Well, to put it bluntly, we think there’s a rat in the department, or on the team working this case,” Alex said, and he looked pissed and worried about telling Conan this.

  “What?”

“Yeah, I know, I wasn’t going to say anything yet, but as we’re taking over this investigation, our team is picking up on little things, some actions that got botched along the way. It seems like this group got the heads up before any of the raids, and even some jobs. Like the one we did a few days ago, that place was almost fucking empty. It makes no sense at all. Someone is leaking information.”

“So how do we figure out who it is?” he asked.

“Toby had an idea. Kind of simple but could work. Go ahead, Toby,” Alex said.

“I’m thinking maybe we get one of you guys, Brook, or Carter to put out some information. Something on a potential lead or location, and then see if it’s filtered through the channels. Hopefully, we can figure out who the rat is.”

“We would have to keep that information in a small circle. How do we know who to share it with?”

“We start off big, our top dozen people, and then we go small,” Toby suggested.

“Okay, it sounds like the best option. We’re too close to identifying these guys and ending this,” he said, and they started to make a plan.

  * * * *

Brook was in the main office at work with Yandi and Carter. She felt a little uneasy about the idea of a rat in the department but weaning them out would be a pleasure. So she, Alex, and Conan decided to use the information about the home safes and the one place on Burrens Drive as a hook to see if anything came from it.

As the day went on and they got nothing, they thought it would be a waste of time. Then the feds got a name. Oakley Roames. A man with a long rap sheet and a history of breaking into places and having knowledge about locks, safes, and security systems.

“This is definitely one of our guys,” Brook said to Yandi and Carter. “Look at this. He fits the profile and the one description from a witness from the home invasion in Castings. Now we need to see who he hangs out with or has befriended.” She, Carter, and Yandi began to work on that. By the end of the day, the feds were taking over and trying to locate a guy named Perkins Ross.

Brook headed home late. It was dark out and Kinchley, Kernan, and Conan were there to greet her. They were carrying in pizza as she went to turn on the lights, and nothing happened.

“What the hell? Maybe a circuit breaker tripped,” she said.

“Get down,” Kinchley yelled and tackled her to the ground at the same time that windows started breaking and gunfire filtered through the living room. Kinchley was dragging her across the rug to behind the island in the kitchen, and Conan and Kernan were returning fire.

“Oh my God,” she said as Kinchley checked her over.

  “Are you hurt?”

“No,” she said, shaking as the gunfire stopped and the sounds of tires squealing echoed in the distance.

“Brook, Kinchley, are you okay?” Kernan asked.

  “Yes!” Kinchley said. “Kernan?”

“Not so good,” he said, and Brook panicked and turned to stand up, but Kinchley grabbed her.

“Wait until we know it’s clear.”

“Kernan, what is it? Are you hit? Are you hurt? Answer me!” she screamed at him.

They could hear sirens in the distance, and then she heard Conan.

“Shit, Kernan. Fuck, you’re bleeding. Where are you hit?” he asked. She crawled along on the floor with Kinchley on her ass and then stood up and saw Kernan on the rug. Conan had a shirt against his side.

“Kernan.” She hurried to him and dropped down on the rug.

  “I’m fine, baby. It’s a flesh wound.”

“Fuck, that’s a lot of blood,” Kinchley said as tires squealed and sirens blared outside. Conan pulled out his phone.

“It was a hit on us at Brook’s place. Kernan got shot, grazed him good. I’ll wait for you,” Conan said and ended the call.

Brook was caressing Kernan’s cheek. He grabbed her wrist. Hard.

His eyes locked onto hers so fiercely she tightened up.

“I’m fine, Brook. It’s a fucking flesh wound,” he snapped at her and she pulled back. The police started coming in, all their friends on the job, and she looked at Kinchley then Conan, who were filled with rage. They were different right now, in a state over Kernan getting shot. Obviously the men they were all hunting were sending some kind of message to all of them. What the hell was going on? Who were these men, and how did this get personal?

“They came after you, Brook. After us. It’s them,” Conan said to her.

She looked around them and then whispered, “The rat.” She saw the veins by his temples pulsate. The shit just hit the fan.

Brook stood up and watched the paramedics tend to Kernan, who would need stitches. Thank
God, the bullet hadn’t hit him completely. He was pissed, and she realized that she needed to not be his lover, his girlfriend right now, but a fellow cop. He pushed her away and basically stopped her from coddling him and acting emotional. She wasn’t used to this, and now she understood how they felt when she was caught in that building and got shot in the vest after Torey was shot in the leg. A lot of time lapsed before they had her in their sight and confirmed she was alive. This relationship with them, and with jobs they had, was going to weigh a toll on them. Was their love strong enough to handle it? She sure as shit hoped so, but right now she wanted answers and she wanted the ones responsible. Perhaps Alex and the feds were closer to knowing who these men were and hadn’t let onto it fully.

“Where is Brook now?” Kernan barked at Kinchley. The doctor finished stitching him up and insisted on some pain meds. Kernan was in rare form and having a hard time processing what happened without growing angrier. The rest of the team came by as soon as they got word on the incident at Brook’s house.

“She’s at the department working like you told her to do,” Kinchley replied, and then looked at Paul and Sam, two other men on their SWAT team.

“She should be guarded. We don’t know who these men are. She’s in danger and needs protection.”

“Yeah, try telling her that. You should have heard her with Agent Rourke earlier, she was tearing him a new one,” Paul told him, and Kernan squinted.

“What happened, Kinchley? What the fuck did I miss?” he asked.

“Nothing that we were made aware of. Conan is with the agents now and Brook did as you demanded when she showed up here and she went back to work.”

He exhaled and then growled low. He glanced at Paul and Sam, then back at Kinchley.

He closed his eyes, and Kinchley looked at Sam and Paul. “Get the rest of the team up to speed. I’ll be bringing my brother home to rest. I want everyone on alert to having to go into action at any given moment. I’ll find out from Conan what we’re up against and we’ll take it from there.”
