by Charlotte Bingham

Cecil had stood by her for so long Elizabeth thought the only way to stop him being so remorselessly interested in her was to marry him. The move was very successful for them both. Cecil, still her agent and sole representative, is the most diligent of managers, and works so hard at his wife’s career he is rarely home except for weekends, which are usually spent in Cecil’s country house in Sussex which he inherited from his mother, and which Elizabeth’s mother (Muzz) housekeeps, and to which Elizabeth frequently invites friends who are mainly hers. But there is no need to feel the least bit sorry for Cecil. Cecil Manners is an extremely happy man because he is very rich, and most of all, which is a proud boast for one so apparently unexciting, he is married to the woman who in her prime had been considered beyond all doubt to have been one of the most beautiful women in the entire world.
