What He Wants: Trusting You prequel novella Page 8

by Dover, L. P.

In one quick move, Brett was on his feet with my legs wrapped around his waist and my arms around his neck. Getting us away from the edge of the boat, he carried me to the middle where he laid me down gently on one of my towels I had sprawled out from earlier. Brett cuddled to my side and draped a leg in between mine while leaning on his elbow, looking down at me.

“You are so beautiful,” he breathed, running his finger along my jaw down to my collarbone. “Do you know how hard it is to see you like this and keep my restraint? I’ve wanted to touch you and take you on this boat since the first second we got on here.”

Sighing, I lowered my gaze to his hard, tanned chest and ran my fingers along his smooth skin. “Is that all you want from me, Brett? You can be honest with me you know. I don’t play games and I don’t like for people to play them with me, but I have to know what you want out of this.”

Brett smiled and traced his finger over my lips. “I don’t play games either, Melissa. Look, last night after you left I went to talk to Korinne. I think we talked for almost two hours about you.”

I gasped and covered my face with my hands. “Oh hell, what did you two talk about? Please tell me it was nothing embarrassing? Korinne has a habit with spilling that kind of stuff.”

Brett took my hands away from my face and guffawed, throwing his head back. “No nothing like that. She told me stories of you two growing up and how inseparable you were. When I called you firecracker last night I had no idea that you were really a firecracker growing up.” He laughed again and sat up, gazing down at me still lying on the deck of the boat. “Korinne told me that you were one of the smartest kids in school and that you were actually valedictorian of your graduating class. That’s impressive. I’ll admit, I was a smart kid, but I didn’t come close to that honor.”

I waved him off. “It wasn’t that big of a deal. I loved learning and reading books. Why do you think I became a teacher?”

“That’s the thing,” he piped in. “There were so many other fields you could’ve gone into, but you chose teaching. A job that you have to put a lot of time and effort into and not get the benefits. It takes a very special and dedicated person to want to be a teacher when they aren’t appreciated enough.”

That was true. However, I loved teaching, and planned on doing it for the rest of my life. “It’s true,” I admitted. “Teachers aren’t appreciated or respected the way they should be, but it’s something I always wanted to do. Do you like your job?”

He nodded. “Love it. Plus, I make really good money building houses. I always loved drawing as a kid, so I decided to put it to good use.”

We sat in silence for a minute just staring at each other. His gaze softened when he said, “Do you want to know what else Korinne told me that really made me see what kind of person you truly are on the inside?”

When I nodded curiously, he continued, “Korinne told me about the time you found her dog dead in the backyard, and since she was too heartbroken to do anything, you buried it yourself and had a little funeral for him. She even cried when she told me the story.”

I sighed and lowered my voice, “Oh yeah, that was a terrible day. She was so upset over her dog and it broke my heart. Her parents were at work, and I just couldn’t leave her dog alone there like that.”

Brett traced my cheek with his finger and slowly grazed it down my neck to my chest. “She also told me about the time when you were both in high school and how when she didn’t make the cheerleading team you turned down your position to join even though it was the one thing you wanted to do more than anything.”

“Oh, Kori,” I whispered to myself, gazing up at the blue sky. “What am I going to do with you?”

To Brett, I said, “We were two peas in a pod back then. We did everything together and I didn’t want me making the squad come between that. As much as I wanted to be a cheerleader, her friendship and the time I spent with her meant more.”

“So you see,” Brett began, lowering himself over my body. “Your heart is pure. I could see it that night I met you and I can see it now. I haven’t met another woman like you, Melissa. I want to see where this leads because I know we have something here. No games, no lies … just truth and honesty. I want you to know me just like I want to know you.”

He pushed his knee between my legs and I opened for him, letting him settle his weight and his growing erection against my body. Propping himself on his elbows, he gazed down at me with sincere yet lust-filled eyes. “Let me in, Melissa. I need you to let me in and not hold back.”

Brett leaned down and grazed his teeth along the side of my neck, making me whimper. His lips felt hot against my already scorching skin from the blazing sun and his body blanketing mine. “Will you let me touch you?” he asked, trailing his hand over the bare mound of my breast.

Moaning, I arched my back to get closer to the feel of his hand and a deep chuckle vibrated in his chest. “Is that a yes?” he teased.

  “Yes,” I breathed. “Touch me.”

Not wasting another second, he cupped my heavy breast and massaged it with his large hand, rolling my nipple through my top with his fingers. It’d been so long since I’d felt a man’s touch and it instantly made my core tighten and throb. Lifting my bathing suit top, he exposed my bare chest and lowered his dark head to nuzzle my nipple. He flicked it with his tongue, making me squirm beneath him.

“You like that?” he growled, doing it again. Before I could answer, he latched on and bit me with his teeth.

“Oh my God,” I whispered, bucking underneath him. As his mouth did wonders on my breasts, his hands had a different idea. Slowly, Brett skimmed his fingers across my bare stomach and down to my bottoms where he untied the strings. Still on top of me, he pushed my thighs farther apart and reached between my legs, thrusting one long finger inside of me.

Gasping, my muscles clenched around his finger, so he slowly slid another one in. Groaning, he bit my nipple again, making me hiss with the sudden pain, before licking and massaging the teeth marks. “I want you so bad, Melissa. You are so fucking wet right now and all I want to do is be with you the way we were once before. It was the closest connection I’d ever had to anyone.”

Moving his hips against mine it gave off the illusion of us having sex, and in my mind we were, but it was with his fingers inside of me instead of his cock. “I’m going to make you come, firecracker. Just … like … this.” Picking up his speed, he also added in another finger, pushing and thrusting. Grabbing him by the shoulders, I pulled him down to my lips. My cries of passion were hushed by his domineering takeover of my mouth and tongue as he sucked and licked. Using his thumb to rub my clit along with his thrusts had me falling over the edge almost immediately.

Closing my eyes, I tilted my head back as I screamed out in pleasure. Brett closed his mouth over mine to muffle the cries and continued rubbing my clit until the aftershocks wore off, my body jerking as they died down. Breathing heavily, I opened my eyes to see him staring hungrily into my glowing face.

“You are so sexy when you come. I almost came just watching you.” He sat up and helped me fix my top before pulling me to my feet. Glancing around, I was happy that no one had gotten close to our boat to see what we were doing. I noticed Brett was still hard and protruding out of his shorts, but when I tried to run my hands over him he backed away.

Frowning, I placed my hands on my hips. “Why won’t you let me touch you?”

Brett took my face in his hands and kissed my frown. “Believe me, I want you to touch me, but if you remember correctly I don’t do things light and gentle when I want something really bad. My boat will be at the bottom of the lake if I let you take me to that place.”

Biting my lip, I was tempted to just attack him, but I had to respect his wishes. “Then when?” I asked, breathless. “When can I touch you? I’m dying to feel you inside me.” There, I said it. Even though I wanted to keep my distance, there was no way I could deny the feelings I had.

  His eyes went
wide and he groaned, placing his forehead to mine. “You do know what you just agreed to, don’t you?” he asked, pulling me to the back of the boat. He sat down in the seat by the steering wheel and started up the engine.

Wrapping my arms around his neck, I sat down on his lap, his erection hard against my ass. “Yes, I know,” I whispered. “I can’t wait any longer. I think you will find that patience is not one of my virtues.”

“Same here, baby, but I know I would wait for you.” Brett kissed the back of my neck and started us on the forty-five minute trek back to the dock. “As soon as I get you home I’m going to wrap those legs of yours around my waist and take you like I’ve been dying to for the past three months.”

I smiled. “What about teaching me how to drive your Jeep? Did you forget about that? You said you were going to teach me after we got done on the lake.”

Gripping my hips, he moved me across his still hard cock. “Sorry, firecracker, but that’s just going to have to wait. I’m sure you understand.”

Oh yes, I understand. I understood perfectly well.
