Eaton grabbed the front of Thoran’s shirt, yanking his mate close. “If you don’t clean me up, I’ll swear I really will neuter you.”

Thoran glanced over at Eloise. “Can you give us a minute?”

“I’ll go call Nyda. The birth of her niece or nephew is all she’s been talking about.” When Eloise left the room, Thoran made quick work of cleaning the cum from Eaton’s backside.

The pain had become so unbearable that Eaton didn’t care if he was cleaned or not. He just wanted this to end.

“Is this supposed to go so fast?” Thoran asked as he tossed the cloth aside and pulled the gown from over Eaton’s head. Next he pulled the blanket from the end of the bed and covered Eaton’s groin.

“How in the hell should I know?” Eaton shouted as another wave of torture washed over him. He lay there for a good twenty minutes panting and praying this child didn’t rip him to shreds.

He was drenched in sweat by the time Eloise reentered the room, Nyda at her side. Together everyone worked to help Eaton deliver the baby. Eaton thought he’d be in labor for hours. He’d heard some of the women in the palace talking about how hard labor was, but to his surprise and relief, Eaton’s didn’t last that long.

In less than two hours, the baby’s head was crowning.

“One more good push,” Eloise said. “You can do it, Eaton.”

Grabbing the mattress on either side of him, Eaton bore down. He fell against the bed, exhausted and panting when he heard the first cries of his child.

“A boy!” Eloise shouted with joy.

Nyda bent at the waist and whispered into Eaton’s ear. “Congratulations.”

Eaton smiled as he stared up at his son in Eloise’s arms.

Thoran brushed his fingers over Eaton’s damp hair. “I love you, kitten.”

As tired as Eaton was, he basked in the glow of having given birth to such a beautiful little boy. He wasn’t foolish enough to think his life was going to be easy. Not with the Empire after the Breed Assassins, but with Thoran by his side, it was damn near perfect.
