I related the whole story of their marriage from beginning to end. Of course I did not divulge the names of Amarpreet and his people. Other than that I told him the whole story. He kept listening to me. He didn’t speak a single word in between. When I concluded the story I sat staring at him. Looking for his reaction. There was pin drop silence in the room. The tension had become unbearable. Then father spoke.

“Maya what you have done is probably correct. Daughter I didn’t know when you had become so big and mature. Perhaps as a father I always thought of you as my little daughter.”

“Papa!” I hugged him with tears in my eyes.

“Maya, you’ll become a good politician daughter. I’m proud of you. Now tell us what to do further.”

“Papa, now you’re pulling my leg. How can I tell you what to do.”

“No, no, Maya honestly I’m saying this. I want to know about your plan.” He assured me by putting his hand on mine.

I told my parents, that we’ll not tell Rita’s mother about the court marriage. We knew that Rita had not told her about the court marriage either. We’ll bring the marriage proposal before her. I was pretty sure that after dithering over the matter for some time she would definitely agree to that. She herself wanted to marry Rita to Mahesh. Rita had herself told us this many times. Late Ranjit, God bless his soul, was the big stumbling block. With his moving away from the scene, there was no other reason except for the emotional one, to deny the proposal. And, I always knew that can be taken care of. With her approval, we’ll solemnize the wedding of Rita and Mahesh in the City in traditional, but simple way. All the arrangements would be ready. Next day of the marriage, the couple would fly to Australia, together. That was the plan.

With no one opposing the plan as such, the only thing left was to implement it. The beginning was made when Rita and her mother visited us in the evening. During the course of our conversation, I floated the proposal before them.

“Aunty, though it may be termed as temerity, or may even be thought of as indecent, yet I want to say something”, I said looking at Rita’s mother in a seasoned politician’s tone!

“Oh Maya. Don’t be so formal dear.” Rita’s mother was as loving as ever.

“Aunty I’m worried about Rita’s marriage!”

“Yes Maya that worries me too!” She said looking at Rita.

“Maya, mummy what topic both of you have picked up”, Rita intervened.

“No Rita your marriage is vital dear”, her mother said firmly.

“Yes aunty that’s what I am saying”, I took the opportunity, “Mahesh and Rita like each other much. All of us know about that. What do you say aunty?”

Rita’s mother looked shocked on hearing the proposal and her first reaction was to say no to it.

“But how can we marry them Maya? Her father was so much against this marriage. How can we do it?” She seemed to be opposed to the very idea of it.

“But aunty, things keep on changing. We can’t stay at the same place forever. We have to move ahead. For that is the life. Change is its essence.”

“But…” she wanted to say something but I interrupted.

“Aunty, Mahesh and Rita like each other and want to marry. You also know that. Does our happiness not lie in their happiness? Or, does it lie in making them sad. Tell me. You ask Rita. What does she want? She will tell you, herself.” Saying this I turned towards Rita. She kept quiet. I continued further.

“See Aunty Rita is silent. Her silence is her assent. We all have to work together to make them happy. That’s our job.”

Rita’s mother kept quiet for a few minutes. She seemed to be engrossed in deep thinking. After a few minutes she spoke.

“Maya, I need some time to think over it. But even if we were to agree on their marriage, how to go about it. Everything is so disorganized. Her father is also not here! I’ll have to arrange everything. How to do it? I don’t know”, she put forth her worries.

I was happy. She had given her assent in an indirect way. I knew the outcome would be positive.

“Don’t worry aunty on these things. We’ll take care of everything. We’ll solemnize the marriage from the City hotel. Next day they can fly to Australia. And, what if Rita’s father is not there? Mahesh’s father is there. He is also like a father to her. He’ll take care of everything. No father?” I said turning to my father. He was listening intently to me.

“You don’t worry Rita’s mother. I’ll look after everything.” He assured her.

“As all of you say. I’m totally dependent on you all”, she said as tears welled up in her eyes and her voice cracked. Her sobs filled the air.

I, along with Rita, aunt Vidya and my mother consoled her. My father moved to his room. Tears had also come in his eyes. My mother’s and aunt Vidya’s eyes were also moist. After sitting for some time like that, all of us, except my father, moved to Rita’s home to see them off. We spent few minutes over there and then came back.

In an hour or so we received the phone call from Rita’s mother giving her formal approval to the marriage. Now everything was set. I had to go to the City and arrange everything there, with Amarpreet’s help. Right from their marriage, to their departure to Australia. With all these things in my mind, I left for the city, the next day.

  *………………………………………*

20th of the next month was fixed as the date of the marriage, after consulting everybody including the religious Guru. He had set the date as being auspicious. Just a month was left for that. Indian weddings are quite elaborate, with so many rituals and ceremonies running into many days. We had to go for the abridged version, but then there is a limit to everything. You can’t curtail everything.

However short you may want to keep it, even then you need time. And, time was one thing which was in short supply. Guests had to be invited, wedding cards to be printed, purchases to be made and the rituals connected with the marriage had to be set in motion. It needed much time, energy and money to do that. Though I may sound hackneyed, yet I would like to say that time was one thing, which was truly in short supply. Amarpreet helped a lot in that. Like a true friend and a great organizer he saw to it that even the trivial things were taken care of.

A big hotel was booked for the marriage ceremony. Rest of the rituals took place in the village. Because of the death of Ranjit, God bless his soul, the tone was however subdued. A day prior to the D-Day, the relatives from both the sides, the groom’s as well as bride’s, had moved to the hotel. Though care was taken not to make it ostentatious, yet it was well attended with much festivity. Political heavyweights and prominent people of the city were there to bless the couple. Media had also covered the marriage well. It was termed as quite progressive being an inter caste marriage. It got much publicity because of the political connections also.

Everything went of smoothly, much better than our expectations. Bride and the groom were particularly very happy. There was much to rejoice about in both the families. A great and much awaited event had been held and that too very well. Everything went smoothly as was planned. Everything except for an incident that my destiny had planned.

Amarpreet’s father, the Minister had also come in the marriage. He was an acquaintance and a fellow party colleague, besides being an honored guest. He was much respected by both the families. Everybody sought for him. But he seemed to be more interested in someone else. In me! Was I becoming a family indulgence?

That day, I had put on a low waist lehenga (long skirt covering the whole of legs) and back-less choli (blouse). Two hours at the beauty salon had really made me presentable for the day. With my full and enticing figure in that outfit, I was able to catch the eyeballs that day. Wherever I moved people ogled at me. Amarpreet had whispered in my ear of his naughty intentions when he stood near me.

But that I would ignite the Minister, I didn’t know. I had become well aware that his eyes followed me wherever I went. Female species have this uncanny ability to read the intentions of th
e male species! I had seen many faces and many eyes to know what exactly lurked in there. I saw a desire for my body in them. To take me to bed. To play with it To… I had seen many faces and enough eyes to know that. Maybe the destiny wanted me move that way and move towards the Minister.

Life always gives you the indications, clues and the directions. It is up to you to find them, decipher them and use them to your advantage. And, that was exactly what I did that day or shall I say that night!.

He was seated in the front row. Everybody who is near and dear or in ‘who’s who’ list gets himself or herself snapped with the couple sitting on the dais, as was the custom. People come to the dais to bless the couple and the snaps are taken. Being the most honored guest father wanted that the Minister should be the first one to get snapped and bless the couple. He asked me to accompany him in inviting the Minister to the dais. I readily went with my father for that. I bent before him politely to request him to come on the dais to bless the couple. But my real intention was that, he should have a nice glimpse of my milky white breasts, which he had. Looking at me he stood up and walked slowly to the dais. Mahesh and Rita got up to touch his feet to seek his blessings, as was the custom. Having done that they sat down and we went behind the sofas they were sitting on for the snaps. Me, my father, aunt Vidya, my mother and the Minister. My father and the Minister stood in the middle. My mother and aunt Vidya stood on the right side of my father. I stood next to the Minister, on his left. As we were posing for the snaps, I felt a hand moving over my hips. After patting them it withdrew. With the corner of my eye I glanced at the Minister. He was looking at me. Our eyes met and we smiled. After the snaps father, with my help, escorted the Minister to his chair.

I knew I had aroused him so much, that he couldn’t resist and done that in public. It’s correct that behind the dais was the wall and we were completely hidden by the large sofa on which the bride and the groom were sitting, but then doing it in public! O.K., I’ll stoke the fire further Mr. Minister. A plan began to take shape in my mind.

After the long photo session all the guests proceeded for the dinner. Amarpreet was hanging around me. But, I wanted to slip away and move the place where the Minister was standing. In the middle of the dinner, Amarpreet had to go to drop Seema and Rohan as Rohan was sleeping sleepy. I availed of this opportunity. Straightaway I went up to the place where, the Minister was eating.

“Sir, is everything O.K.?” I asked politely.

“Yes, yes. You are not eating”, he said as his eyes tried to crawl inside my low cut ‘choli’.

“I’ll take it later Sir. Sir, an urgent thing is there. Can I talk to you about it?”

“What urgent thing is there? You can tell me here. No problem.”

How could I. He was surrounded by people there.

“Not here Sir”, I said looking at the people around him.

  “O.K.” He said getting up.

“I’m sorry Sir. Please have your dinner Sir. I’ll tell you after the dinner Sir”, I said apologetically.

“No, no. It’s O.K.” He said moving away from the group. “Yes what urgent thing was there?”

Looking around, and finding no one there, I said to him smiling, “I liked what you did on the dais Sir. More so because I’m not wearing the panty today.”

He looked at me with a smile as he shifted his weight on other leg. I knew the word panty would definitely affect him!

“Sir can I ask for a favor?” I pushed the topic further.

“Go ahead.” He had suddenly become impatient.

“Sir, I like to take bath in the night. No room is available right now. Can I use your room Sir?” The smile on my face had turned naughty.

“Why not! Why not! I’m all for public Go ahead do it!” He said in an excited but hushed tone.

  “Your keys Sir.”

“At the reception. I’ll fetch them and give to you”, he said walking away.

After he had his dinner, he moved around as people came and met him. Casually he went to the reception and took his keys. Seeing him do it, I too moved towards the reception. As we crossed each other at the corner, he dropped the keys, which I picked up. To make things look normal, I walked around the dinner hall talking to people. Casually walking around, I slipped out of the hall, and hurried up to his room. Nobody was there in the corridor. Using the keys I opened the door and slipped inside the room. I gulped a glass of water and moved towards the bath room. I took off my clothes and had a glimpse of my body in the mirror. Excellent! I couldn’t stop myself from admiring what I saw in the mirror. Then I took a bathing towel and wrapped myself in it. I had to sit and wait for him. He took nearly 15 minutes to come. I heard the door open as he came in. He closed the door behind him, came towards the bed and sat on it. I opened the bath room door and came out, all wrapped up in the towel.

“Amarjeet, you made me wait quite long!” I took his name deliberately, and didn’t address him as Sir. It works!

“Oh Maya, they took time in searching the duplicate keys. When did you come?” He said walking towards me.

“Just now”, I said throwing my towel on his face.

Mr. Minister, I came a long time back, but I’ve arrived now!

My naked body must have been too much for him. Young and full. Ready for his pleasure. He looked overjoyed and quite excited. I stood there and let him come to me. He touched me all over my body. Where he wanted to rub, he rubbed. Where he wanted to pinch, he pinched. Where he had to kiss, he kissed. Where he had to insert, he inserted. I mean his fingers. After he was through with initial pawing, I took him to bed, holding his hands.

“Don’t you move, Amarjeet. Let me take off your clothes”, I said pushing him gently on the bed.

I took a long time deliberately, to take off his clothes. I wanted to arouse him more. I used my fingers and kisses well as the clothes kept moving off his body, one by one. In the end, his half erect ‘Munni’ stared at me as prize!

Seeing me looking at his half erect ‘Munni’ he tried to explain, “It takes time to come to shape.”

“No problem! I know how to put muscles and bones in it”, I said closing on his ‘Munni’ and taking it into my mouth. Slurp, slurp… I worked on it. Sucking, licking and holding it between my teeth. My efforts bore fruit, and it came to life. Standing in full glory. Clearly the ruins told, that the building must have been grand once!

“You up or me up?” I asked him, how he wanted to begin.

“You up”, he said going for my breasts.

I straddled him and was ready for galloping! I took his ‘Munni’ in my hand, and put it in my ‘Bulbul’. He caught me by my back and let me go up and down on him freely. As the tempo was building up, I felt as if he was pulling me down tightly. I looked at his face. Looking at me with a smile on his face he said,

  “You go down.”

As we shifted position, he came up on me. He caught me by my shoulders and thumped hard. I crossed my legs around his back and enjoyed as he thumped hard and deep. Soon, I was on the road to my orgasm. Excitement was building up. Like an expert he kept on drilling. Suddenly he went limp inside and collapsed on me. Leaking in, he rolled away. I was left there wanting for more! But as I was not there for it, I didn’t let the disappointment show on my face. I was not here for the pleasure. I was on a job and I concentrated on it! I got up, smiled at him and kissed his forehead.

“I’m tired!” I hugged him as I lied.

MEN! They never want to lose on the bed!

“I should rush, before my absence is noticed”, I said quickly moving to the bath room.

Soon I dressed myself and walked out of the room after kissing the Minister, good night. When I reached the dinner hall, the dinner was almost over. Only a few guests were there. Amarpreet rushed towards me as his eyes fell on me.

“Where were you, Maya? I’ve been looking for you long.” He was more angry than worried.

“Periods, Amar! I’ve gone to fetch the sanitary napkin.” I whispered co
ming close to him.

He looked quite convinced. And, I had made myself safe from his further forays!

“That means Maya, I’ve to take the back door entry.” He too whispered looking at me mischievously.

“As if I am going to let you do so!” I said in mock anger.

This kind of light banter went on. Then, we shifted to another hall in the hotel for other ceremonies. I’ve told you, in India, marriage is an elaborate affair. It takes time to complete all the ceremonies. By the time it got completed the day had broken.

In four to five hours time, the flight to New Delhi was slated to take off. We had to do the packing and arrange many things. Though we were thoroughly tired, yet we couldn’t think of taking rest. Moreover, we had to start early for the airport. It took a long time at the airport to complete all the formalities. Arranging and packing took time. In the end we were off to the airport. From New Delhi they would get the connecting flight to Australia. The flight to New Delhi was however on time.

“Oh My God! I thought we would not be able to make it to the airport in time.” Mahesh let a sigh of relief as we alighted from the cars.

“I knew we would make it.” My tone reflected my confidence and happiness.

“I’m feeling nervous, Maya! So much in such a short time! Then a new country and unknown people!” Rita seemed to have bouts of trepidation.

“But, you got the man you wanted, Rita! With a man you know and a man you trust and like, no place remains alien.” I assured her.

The talks filled up the air. We were excited. We were relieved. We were anxious. We were hopeful. Each of us wanted to assure the other. Each of us looked for the assurance from the other.

Rita’s mother looked quite sad as she hugged her. Their eyes had become moist. I could understand what was going in their mind.

Thus, talking, asking, answering, promising, assuring, we moved inside the airport. After the final round of hugs and ‘good-byes’, promising to meet again soon, Rita and Mahesh, went inside the security area. Visitors were not allowed there. Seeing them disappear inside, we came out of the airport. All of us felt relieved, although the mood was pensive. I was relieved, happy and content. All the promises I had made to myself had been fulfilled. And, I had opened a new account in Destiny the last night!
