Willow's Dragon: Dragon Mates: A BBW Paranormal Romance Page 16

by Serena Simpson

“When power has to be controlled every day of your life you become powerful.” Jillian and her sisters were there.

“Willow has control down to a science, but when that control is let loose.” Samantha gave her a smile.

“She becomes extremely powerful.” Tabitha finished.

“This whole war is disheartening. There are only three dragons left, and none of Mutufa’s people left.”

  “That might not be true.”

Every eye turned to look at Skye.

“Remember when you asked me if I believed in dragons and I said maybe?” she asked Zeno.

  “I remember.”

“When I was young there was this dragon, he was bronzed in color. I would watch him fly. I used to sneak out to talk to him. One day they caught me and threatened me if I ever said a word. He was an experiment, but I swear every now and then I used to still see him.”

“A bronze dragon?” The hesitancy in his voice said he refused to hope.

  “What is it?”

He turned to look at Willow. “My nephew was a baby at the time we lost him. but he was bronze.” The table was filled with wonder and hope.

“Why are you out here alone?”

“I wanted to enjoy the sun as it descended. I’m getting stronger, I saw the doctor today.”

“I know. I was there remember?”

“I do. It’s just hard for me to believe that everything is getting back to normal, that it’s taking so long for me to recover.”

“Everything depended on you, my Brave Willow. We only lost five lives in the war when we thought we lost a field of lives. We lost five human lives also. That was because of you. You were protecting them even before you tapped into your power. No wonder you’re drained.”

He picked her up and sat holding her close. “We can go any place you want. We can leave here and never look back.”

“I don’t want to run anymore. I’m tired of doing that. I want to fix our home up, have children and live our lives for each other.”

  “I want that future too.”

The doorbell rang. Leaning in he kissed her forgetting they even had a doorbell. Forever, she sank into his chest and let tears of joy highlight her lashes.
