“Oh my God,” was all she could say, as Rowan kissed her thigh, his fingers tracing a teasing pattern over her stomach. “Oh my God.”
But as good as it had been, Emilia was far from satisfied – she wanted more. She wanted him.
“Come here.”
Rowan smiled at her, lips quirking. “You need more?”
Emilia put her arms around his shoulders, pulling him down into a kiss. “Not need. Want.”
He was happy to oblige her. His tongue slipped between her lips, as his massive erection pressed against her. She was so wet, so ready for him that he slid in easily. They groaned together as he filled her, their bodies fitting together perfectly, as if they had been made for each other.
But we have, she thought vaguely, as the ability for rational thought slipped away from her. That’s what mates are. They’re made for each other.
It never ceased to amaze her, even after all this time, just how perfectly she and Rowan fit together – in bed, and in life. Together, she felt there was no obstacle they couldn’t overcome, no barrier they couldn’t tear down.
Her skin was slick with sweat as Rowan moved. She gripped his shoulders, crying out as he buried himself within her again and again and again, sending sparks shooting through her body. Desperately, Emilia cried out, wrapping her legs around his hips, as he buried his face in her throat, his tongue sliding over her sensitive, over-heated skin.
As his teeth grazed against where her pulse fluttered, Emilia twisted on the bed, bucking up beneath him as she came. She clenched her thighs around him, holding him in place, and felt him pulse within her, a long, deep groan leaving his lips.
For a long while, they simply lay together, holding each other as close as possible, each unwilling to let the other go. When their breathing had finally calmed, they kissed, tongues twining slowly.
“Amazing,” Rowan said, when he at last pulled back. “You’re amazing.”
Emilia could only find it in herself to smile up at him lazily. Her muscles felt far too watery to move right now. She wanted to lie here forever, and never get up ever again.
Everything had been amazing for the past year – they had gotten to know each other better, laughed together, taken care of her animals, fixed the hole Rowan had created in her shed roof, gotten involved in all the various goings-on in Fairhill...
...And now, we’re celebrating Christmas together.
It seemed like a whirlwind when Emilia thought back over it. Time had passed so quickly that she sometimes wished she could slow it down, to savor every last second she spent with Rowan. A lifetime just didn’t seem like enough!
Snuggling against Rowan’s side, Emilia decided she’d just have to be satisfied with it, though. There were plenty of things they could do in a lifetime.
Smiling, she slid her hand down between their bodies to rest on her belly.
Including...
Well. They’d see. If not this time, then another time. Soon, there’d be more than just the pitter-patter of animal feet in the house.
“Perhaps we should sleep,” Rowan said, raising a hand to brush strands of sweaty hair back from Emilia’s face. “We’ll probably have a long day ahead of us tomorrow.”
Emilia knew he was right – but she also didn’t care.
“We can deal with that tomorrow,” she said. “Right now, I only care about now.”
Rowan laughed, desire lighting his eyes once more. He lowered his head to kiss her, his hands sliding down to her hips. Emilia smiled against his mouth, utter happiness and bliss filling her heart.
It was Christmas. And she could think of no more perfect gift than a future with Rowan – to spend the rest of her days with him, just as they were now.
Perfect, she thought, her hand resting on his shoulder. Everything is perfect.
