Rock Fever

  “Something sci-fi,” he murmured.

I was excited about the movie. I loved science fiction but never chose to watch those types of movies myself.

“You look gorgeous.” He bestowed me with a sexy grin.

“Thank you, but you look sexier,” I returned with a flirty smile.

Blade was simple. He wore ragged jeans, a white tee-shirt, and black lace-up boots, then a pair of dark Ray-Ban shades covered his amazing azure eyes.

“Are we good to go?” he asked, and I affirmed with a nod.

He held my upper arm possessively in his grip as we stepped into the elevator. I had come to know some parts of Blade these past few days I had spent with him.

Before now, I had called Penny, my boss, letting her know I would not be reporting at the office for some days because of the project I was working on. She felt really excited and hopeful for a breaking story that would go viral and propel Daybreak Journal into daylight again.

We got to the movie theatre thirty minutes later.

The theatre was a vast hall that could contain more than five hundred people, but there wasn’t a large turn-up. There was a line where people stood to buy tickets, but since we already had ours, we moved straight to the entrance.

“Would you like to have some popcorn or fries?” Blade asked, really showing himself to be a true gentleman.

  “Popcorn, please.” I smiled.

“Okay, save us middle seats while I get you popcorn,” he responded.

“Why middle seats? What’s wrong with the front row?” I asked.

“I want to do some naughty things with you,” he replied.

I just couldn’t take my eyes off him as he walked away. He had a nice ass; his strides were confident and purposeful. It felt like a dream all over again.

“Excuse me, ma’am?” The security guy that was to clear us in called to me.

I realized I had gotten lost just staring at Blade’s ass and thinking of the naughty things he would do to me.

The security guy grabbed our tickets, scrutinized them, and tore the inked part off.

  “You may go in, ma’am.”

“Thank you.” I nodded and stepped into the large room.

The stage and the wall projectors were already set, but the movie was yet to start. We had just ten minutes to its running time. I could count the number of people here. I liked it; it would give us the privacy we needed.

My phone buzzed. It was a text from Blade.

  Where are you, my darling?

I stood to my feet and waved him over. He was carrying one big carton of popcorn and a soda which I knew we would share.

“Missed me?” Blade moved close as the movie started.

The lights went dim, and everywhere became dark with the only light emanating from the projector screen. It was bright and piercing.

“Yes, of course I did.” I dropped a soft kiss on the side of his jawline, but Blade quickly turned to capture my lips with his.

I moaned, and he chuckled as he pulled away to hand me the popcorn.

The movie was titled Uranus Discovered. It was a science fiction about some scientists who discovered humans could actually inhabit Uranus as opposed to the popular theory that the planet could not harbor life.

The five guys set out on a journey to Uranus, and to their surprise, they revealed other humans there on the planet who’d moved there over a thousand years back.

I loved the storyline. It was woven with ambition, the curiosity, experiments, and there was love.

“You know, I think I have so much in common with Bella Jenkins.” I leaned my head against Blade’s shoulder.

“Really? But she is taller and skinny, you’re not like that,” Blade replied in a low voice.

Bella Jenkins was the lead female character, and she was the first to suggest they all travel to Uranus. She was gorgeous. A fast talker. She had a good sense of humor. She was confident in her own skin and ambitious. Bella was a woman in love.

Blade was unusually quiet. Whenever we were together he usually had so much to say to me, but now…he just had this dark look on his face. I couldn’t help but wonder if he was okay.

“Are you okay, babe? What’s wrong,” I peered into his face.

The dimness of the light couldn’t hide his expression.

“Nothing,” he snapped at me. He seemed irritated.

Damn, how did we go from having a good time to him being all moody in the blink of an eye?

“Are you sure everything’s cool?” I pried.

“I’m cool. Let’s go to Allure. The movie is almost over anyway.”

I knew that Allure was an upscale private club for celebrities. I guessed little ol’ me wasn’t enough for Blade.

“Allure?” My heart sank. “I was really enjoying this movie, and I thought we could grab a bite to eat somewhere quiet, or better yet, we could order from the hotel room,” I suggested.

“Come on, babe, don’t be boring, let’s go have some fun,” Blade insisted.

“I’m not dressed for a fancy place like Allure. You said you wanted to keep us on the down-low, too,” I said.

“It doesn’t matter how you’re dressed. You’re with me, and I show up to the club with lots of girls. It doesn’t mean we are together in a relationship,” he rebutted.

I’d noticed something about Blade in our few days together. He was kind but he also had a powerful will and couldn’t bend easily. He was highly opinionated, stubborn, and did whatever he wanted to do.

I also learned that he didn’t take it kindly whenever he was turned down. I felt terrible about missing the end of the movie, but I couldn’t say no to him.

  “Okay, let’s go.” I forced a smile.

“Good.” He grabbed my hand, immediately leading us both out of the theatre.

  CHAPTER ELEVEN

  KIRA

We arrived at the nightclub shortly after; he drove at high speed. I was not comfortable with this environment. It wasn’t my usual scene, but I couldn’t complain—I didn’t want to make him feel bad.

The club was a two-story structure in the West Village area. The first floor was reserved just for the dancers while the second level had seats and tables where people were served.

Loud music buzzed in my ears, and different colored lights dropped their rays on the glistening marble floor. People went wild with dancing as the DJ delivered the latest hits.

A strong aroma dominated this area—beer and cigarettes.

“Now we can have a good time.” Blade sounded excited as he pointed at the crowd.

Wait, is he saying he didn’t have a good time before? What’s with him?

The questions ran through my head, but I only replied, “Yeah!” with a shrug.

He appeared pleased to be here, and the gloomy mood of earlier had disappeared entirely from his face.

“You know what? Let’s get some drinks first. What do you think about that?” He held firmly on to my arm as if I was going to run away. “Loosen up, okay. Anything goes here,” Blade stated.

We pushed through the dancers and lovers until we reached the bar area.

“Good evening, and welcome to Allure. What would you like to have?” The bartender moved towards us.

“Um…” I rolled my eyes. I didn’t want to get drunk. I just wanted something light, maybe just a Sprite, but I wasn’t quick enough.

“Give us some vodka.” Blade ran his tongue over his lips.

“You got it.” The bartender nodded.

“Whoopee, bring it on,” I voiced with sarcasm.

The drink was poured into small-sized shot glasses. I swallowed it down hurriedly. My face burned, my lips quivered, and my tummy rumbled, not welcoming the strength of the liquor.

“More.” Blade hit his glass hard on the bar.

The bartender served us the second round.

This was my first time doing vodka, and I quickly realized my brain couldn’t handle it. I felt tipsy and light-headed after the first shot. I c
ouldn’t feel my legs or my arms after the third shot, though I was still aware of the things going on around me.

I thought this torture was over, but Blade kept asking for more, and there was no way I could leave him to drink on his own. I was a big girl, surely I would be able to hang.

We ended up having fourth and fifth rounds.

My eyes were popping out of my head, and my world was spinning. Everything seemed so fast. The echoing laughter from the dancers played loudly in my mind.

“You know what? Let’s have that dance now.” I clutched Blade’s arm tightly as he pulled me to the center of the crowded dance floor area.

Blade gathered me in his arms, his gaze blazing on me with heat. “You’re fucking hot,” he said, leaning down to bring himself closer to my eye level.

“You think so, huh?” I blushed.

  “I’m being honest, sweetheart.”

Desire boiled like a slow-burning flame between us. The DJ switched to a slow number titled How Would You Feel by Ed Sheeran.

Blade brought my body tight against his. His mouth brushed my ear, and I trembled the moment he started singing to me in his rough, gravelly voice.

I let myself go. I took a deep breath and allowed the spirit of the music take over me and his voice wash over my body. I twirled my hips and wiggled to and fro. Warmth radiated from his body to my own. Blade’s scent alone was seductive and played havoc over my senses. My adoration for Blade just went up another notch.

“You smell fucking good.” He grabbed my waist and rubbed his groin close to my lower abdomen.

That was when I realized he had an erection.

We were a breath away from each other. Our gazes clashed, and Blade’s fiery stare went to my lips. My skin heated all over.

His dick was so fucking hard, it almost pierced my belly. We rubbed our bodies together slowly. I parted my legs and moved my hips the best way I could.

I was so hot and bothered. I wanted to have sex. I wanted to feel Blade’s long, hard cock deep in my pussy.

“I want to touch you…” he whispered into my ear.

I told him the same thing. Blade’s hands stroked my back down to the curve of my butt, then he urged me to turn around. Now my back was to his broad chest.

My heart rate picked up, and a trickle of sweat slid between the valley of my breasts. My panties were beyond saturated. Blade’s shaft pressed firmly against my bottom.

I wished we were back in the hotel room with his cock buried deep within my core. I desired Blade. Badly.

“Come.” Blade’s hands slid up just under my breast area.

My nipples hardened, ripe for the sucking.

I asked no questions. All I wanted was to get my panties down and his cock wedged deep into my love tunnel. I wanted to ride him until I couldn’t think anymore—until I came all over his hardness.

Blade pulled a few strings, talked to some guys who helped us get into the backroom of the club, which was reserved for VIP parties.

It was just what we needed. The air was thick with our arousal. It was hot and heavy. Sweat trickled down from my eyebrows. I could taste salt on my lips; everything tasted sweaty.

We found a spot just for the two of us.

I couldn’t hold it anymore. Thankfully, I had worn a dress, so Blade just took off my panties and bent me over. My rounded ass was high in the air, my wet pussy Blade’s for the taking.

“You’re so fucking tight,” Blade grunted as he inserted one finger into my throbbing pussy.

I moaned and wound my waist. I wanted him to fuck me. I wanted him to suck me. I wanted him to do naughty things until I went crazy. I waited while he rolled on a condom.

I exhaled when he thrust into me and pummeled my core.

Blade was rough. I had never felt him fuck me this way. He yanked my curls and drove in madly while murmuring unintelligible words. It seemed he’d gotten doped up on something, but it didn’t matter now.

I needed him severely, and he desired me, too.

All I cared for was the orgasm, the thrill that would propel me to cloud nine. I found myself grinning as Blade pounded my G-spot harder. Being with Blade had given a sort of exposure and experience I hadn’t had. Before now, I never would have fucked in a club; this was my first time. And it was fucking insane.

  CHAPTER TWELVE

  KIRA

A month had passed since we began to date officially. I had gotten back to Miami and work, but we were still secretly seeing each other whenever we could. At this point, I was perplexed. Like what the hell was I doing?

I liked Blade a whole lot but I also loved my job and wanted that promotion and the fat check that came along with it. Blade had been honest with me, and I felt horrible for keeping a huge part of my life away from him.

We had spent a lot of time together. We went to fancy restaurants, museums, elegant beaches, and I loved every moment we were together. I was not really comfortable with the way most of our dates had ended and I was hoping I could talk to him about it.

I knew one of Blade’s secrets: he took drugs.

Whenever we went on a date, we ended up doing drugs and drinking, and it really made me uncomfortable.

The problem was that Blade was not aware of my job. Only Starburst knew that I was a journalist, and no other. I didn’t even think Starburst knew that Blade didn’t know what I did for a living. Blade never even asked me, come to think about it. Maybe we had been so caught up, he didn’t think to ask me. I sure as hell wasn’t going to volunteer that sort of information. I didn’t want to risk losing him before we’d even begun.

I felt like I was betraying him by not telling him about it. What if he got to find out from someone else? I didn’t want to mess things up, because we were in a very good place.

I was ecstatic when Blade phoned me to say he was in town and wanted to see me. I couldn’t believe he took the time out of his busy schedule to see me by flying in late last night. I woke up to his voicemail this morning.

I sported a peach dress and cream sandals. We were going on another date, but Blade wouldn’t tell me where we were going. He just kept saying it was a special place. I wore a peach-colored lipstick and lined my eyes lightly. I was in no mood for heavy makeup.

“We’re going to have that talk today.” I glared at myself in the mirror.

My phone buzzed, and I rushed to pick it up. Blade had said he would send a driver who would take me to the location of the date.

“Hello, darling, how are you today?” he asked.

“I’m fine now. I can’t wait to see you again.” I beamed.

“Same here. Your driver is outside, don’t keep him waiting. I can’t wait to see your lovely eyes.”

“I am flattered,” I teased him.

“Don’t be. I mean it and I am going to write you a song.”

That made me laugh. I liked the idea of it, but my heart was not there now. All I could think of was having a truthful conversation with Blade.

I found the driver outside, an older man. He had arrived in a black limousine.

  “Good day, ma’am.”

  I smiled at him. “Hello.”

“Please…” He bowed and opened the door for me.

  I felt like Cinderella.

While in the car, I shut everything else out except Blade, I was a little nervous about this conversation I wanted us to have.

This was the first time I’d felt afraid of talking to someone. I had never been the type to shy away or cower when it was time for confrontation. Maybe I felt this way because he was my boyfriend.

“Kira Martin, you can do this,” I whispered to myself as the car came to a halt.

“We’ve arrived,” the driver’s voice reached my ears about forty-five minutes later.

My brows came together in a frown as I peered out the smoky passenger side window.

This place didn’t reflect Blade’s usual haunts. He loved to hit the clubs or go to a casino, but this place just seemed too…well, tame.

It was an open garden of grapes. A small number of people had gathered. There were tables and chairs and a little stage which had this banner: Crocus Wine Tasting.

“I hope you enjoy yourself, ma’am,” The driver said as he came around to help me from the limo.

“I’m sure I will.” I grinned and stepped out of the car.

Honestly, I felt slightly relieved that we were not having another date in a club or some rough place. This looked calm, simple, and very romantic.

A smile formed around my mouth as I spotted Blade close to a grapevine. He was dressed a bit formally, in a tux. His eyes were relaxed and happy. His face radiated a kind of peace I couldn’t understand.

I felt my bag for my notepad. I always took notes during or after each date as I learned one or two things from them.

Crocus Wine Tasting. I quickly scribbled it down on my jotter before walking down to Blade.

“You look sexy. Peach looks good on you.” He cupped my face in his hands and planted a kiss on my lips.

“So is this where we have the date?” I looked around curiously. I didn’t know this part of Florida but I could tell it was out of bounds for ordinary people like me. It was an estate for the crème of society.

“A friend invited me. I thought we could use some time together before the show begins.”

“What’s this really about?” I gestured at the banner.

‘The Powell's are one of the richest families around here. Obviously, they want to leave a legacy behind, they want to make more money.’ He plucked one of the grapes and threw it into his mouth.

“So they named their wine ‘crocus’. Sounds like the word crocodile.” I giggled.

This made Blade laugh. “Yeah, but if the wine tastes good and is quality, people are not going to care about the name. Most people care about content,” he explained.

As we walked to a table far off from the rest of the people, I had a feeling he was talking about himself and the Trash Monkeys.

“Like the Trash Monkeys?” I asked, warming up for the big conversation we were supposed to have.

Blade tilted his head to the side and regarded me. I was not comfortable with the way he was staring at me.
