Nikky had a severe concussion and still hadn’t awoken. Mason said he had brain activity and would have to wait and see what happened when he awoke.
Bruno couldn’t even blame the kid. He had been drugged too, according to Mason, but he fought enough to get cracked in the head. Yeah, a real fucking De Luca.
Marco poked his head into the office, looking somber. “Come on, Bruno. It’s time.”
Bruno stood up.
He walked down the hall. Taking his time. He didn’t relish this. But then he thought… I’m not some soppy bastard… so he moved faster than ever in his life as he rushed down the long hall and threw the door open. “Is… is she?” he shouted like usual.
Thunder looked up, his eyes looking odd. He looked pale too.
Chloe stepped closer and whispered, “Yes,” as she threw her hands over her mouth and tears filled her eyes.
Jaxson took her in his arms as she cried on his shoulder.
Bruno looked over at the bed and stepped closer.
Thunder leaned forward so he could see.
That was when he saw her.
Bella, she looked happy as she gave him a dazzling smile. Her cuts were healing, color back in her cheeks. Such a beauty. He’d said so the other day when he came in to visit and she’d looked like she wanted to slug him. Females. Who knew what went on in their complicate minds?
“So—so…” Bruno almost stuttered, as he couldn’t finish asking.
Bella nodded. “I’m gonna have a baby and Mason says what I went through shouldn’t effect it.” Tears formed in her eyes.
“Well, hot fucking damn!” Bruno yelled.
Everyone jumped as he disturbed the quiet happiness in the room.
“Fucking Bruno,” Thunder muttered as he grinned.
