"Now let's go get something to eat huh?" asked my father with humor in his voice as he climbed down the stairs of the kitchen walkway to the floor. He sits the two of us down in front of a large cake and I looked at both of my parents who were lovingly holding one another in each other's arms. They seemed to be unable to separate at all in most cases, at least from what I have observed.
We finished our meal and eventually found ourselves sitting at the table with our mother and father smiling while looking at my brother and I relax after a day of playing with our friends. They smile wordlessly and I am left to wonder what could be racing through their minds.
"Can you guys separate for one day? You always seem to be latched onto each other." said Jerol and I whipped him on the shoulder with my hands. I thought it was rather sweet how they stayed together.
"Your mother and I are just so happy that we have you and have the life that we have. That's all....You two look so cute" said my father and my brother's face flushed.
As I sit there and gaze upon my parents as they leaned into one another and kissed, I am left to ponder the nature of their bond which was stronger than anything that I have ever seen. I knew the story of their bond only vaguely, there were details and hints that I could recall from when I had asked them earlier but it seemed that each time I gazed upon them and saw them practically glowing, I wanted to hear the story from their lips once more.
So I asked.
